I've got both bikes and I can certainly say, they are both far from each other. I use the Speeder with wider 37c WTB riddler tires and it is still fast enough to make a noticible difference between Crossway with 40c tires. Thought I would sell one of the bike, but can't get rid of the Crossway due to its comfort and adjustability, especially when I tow 1seat Croozer and carry on 1 back child seat. Such things, I would never like to have on speeder. So defilintelly love both bikes, each different way. Speeder when I ride alone. Crossway when I ride with family or friends just for enjoying the day.
I'm after a fast hybrid bike as a have the Boardman 8.8 hybrid. Want to add another to my collection and I've heard the Merida speeder is a fast hybrid
Its been just a week since I got a Merida speeder 300. What a nice machine!!! If my 45yo neighbour which rides trek and orbea both road bikes told me it’s so nice and easy to ride. Just one remark the brake levers on poor asphalt are giggling and making noises but in rest it’s nice.
Yeah I have the Crossway 500 with suspension. It is is definitely an upright bike to cruise in comfort whilst maintaining a decent speed. Great deore gears. Climb anything. Fits my 29er rims and tyres easily for offroad days. No matter what though, I feel like it's just not ever going to feel fast like the speeder.
Just purchased the crossway. Absolutely amazing bike. Extremely comfortable and versatile. The seat stem certainly does help with the unforgiving British roads.
I have the exact speeder 100 and love it !!!! So glad to use it every day, cruzin, exercise, training , long distances such as 50 kilometres and it's doing so great !!! Got the 28 tyres on Pirelli p7 and rolls fast .....
I just came across this video by accident but I have a Crossway 10 which is an older version with rim brakes which are perfectly fine for me and it's a solid bike but definitely not fast. I use it for carrying a lot of cargo with bags for everything. And I also regularly pull a trailer with occasionally 70kg+ loads. It's a commuter, shopper, social and cargo bike for me.
In my opinion best option will be Crossway but with rigid fork for wide tires. It will be bestseller. It has great geometry, but there is no need to have this suspension with poor functionality, it just creates extra weight.
I have xc matts tfs 100 for so many years and I apsolutely adore it but it's time for a change. Can't decide between crossway 20d and Marin san anselmo ds2. Marin seems more sutable for rough terrain. I don't know if I'm wrong.... When I'm looking 20D, it look so fragile against my beloved old Merida...
Just bought a CROSSWAY 20!! You said at 0:50 that all bikes in the CROSSWAY line-up come with disc brakes... The CROSSWAY 10 didn't have disc brakes which is why I didn't go for it, was the shop I was buying it from selling fake Merida bikes or was that just a mistake?
Hi there, the CROSSWAY 10-V is the only bike in the CROSSWAY lineup that doesn't use disc brakes. Apologies for the mistake. We hope you enjoy your new CROSSWAY 20 anyway!
@@MERIDABIKES-INT Thanks for the hasty reply. Many thanks for correcting the mistake there, I'm picking up the bike in a few hours and am VERY excited as it's my first fairly expensive bike I've owned :)
Hi there, the CROSSWAY is also designed for use as a touring bike and the geometry is designed to work with fully laden panniers. It's possible to fit panniers to the SPEEDER as well, but the sporty geometry will make it less suited to heavier loads. Hope that helps!
Please send the black crossway to Israel ... The local distributor has not been able to renew the stock for several months, and such bicycles are not available in the whole country ...
We are really sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, the current situation puts massive strain on production, supplies and also distribution. We would love to supply our bikes as quickly as originally planned, but the unpredictability of the situation makes this currently really difficult. We are not set up to send individual bikes to dealers or directly to customers either, sorry. Your national distributor will have the most up to date information on when stock will be landing, so it's best to stay in touch with them for any updates. Regards, MERIDA
We've checked and our team recommend the MERIDA STRIPE Fender to fit 28" wheels with a 45mm width. www.merida-bikes.com/en/accessory/306-414/stripe The item code is 2114000932 and your local MERIDA dealer should be able to help you source them. Other fenders from different brands that use a similar mounting system will also work, once again your local MERIDA dealer can help you locate some compatible guards and help with installation too. Hope this helps!
still dont know which to choose and if too choose, is really upright position like in city bikes? I am rather up for longer frame and bended position as upright makes me in pain quickly
Hi, the SPEEDER has a much lower, more stretched out riding position thanks to more reach plus flat bars and a low-rise stem. If you don't like an upright position, it's likely to suit you better than the CROSSWAY, which is quite upright. Either way, we'd suggest heading to a dealer and trying them out for yourself, if possible. Hope that helps!
We'd suggest you try our SMARTFIT frame size advice tool on our international website (www.merida-bikes.com/en/p/service/smartfit-frame-size-calculator-407.html) which can give you a good indication of what frame size is right for you. Please keep in mind that they can only be a recommendation and that we suggest getting further feedback from your local MERIDA dealer.
Yes to the 29ers on the crossway. Fitted 2.1 wide on mine the other day. Was pretty good with just enough clearance to be safe. I also tried out the 25c 700c tyres but there a tad too thin for the rims. Be better with 30c.
Hi there, if you head to this page, you can see the full CROSSWAY range, but do make sure you are on the 'International' site. www.merida-bikes.com/en/bikefinder/tag/crossway-50/root/bikes-subcategory You can then select and compare a number of bikes from the range. Hope that helps, MERIDA
This bike was really easy to assemble ruclips.net/user/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.
Yes, that would not be a problem - a 30.9mm post like the MERIDA TEAM TK dropper/suspension post would work just fine! www.merida-bikes.com/en/accessory/267-362/merida-team-tk-dropper Regards, MERIDA

Got the Speeder for food delivery. Wanted road bike speed but didn't want to be angled too far forward with drinks on my back.
I bought the speeder.
So happy cause i was waiting forever.
Great bike.

so how do you find it on a gravel road like in the movie? is it tarmac-only bike or its ok in a rougher terrain?

It fits a 29er 2.2 wide? How is it compare to a Big miner on the road …speed and confort wise?
Which bike do you think would suit your needs best? The CROSSWAY or the SPEEDER?
I prefer Speeder!
Speeder
speeder all the way, but i wish you used the drivetrain with 1 front gear not 3 on all models not just the most expensive ones.
The bike that suits me is the crossway with speeder's looks

i would rather like to see a speeder vs silex comparison. the crossway should be compared to a big nine.
can you attach a stand to Merida Speeder, or you have to use a wooden stick like in the movie?

Wooden Stick 3000 GTX
