- Welcome to Panevėžys district, one of the largest municipalities in Lithuania. It was great to finally visit this region, as I've never explored it before.
My biggest impressions were Krekenava Regional park, Bistrampolis manor house and Įstra aviation museum.

The arrival of Jews in Lithuania dates back to the medieval period, long before the country converted to Christianity. While the exact timing is difficult to pinpoint, Jews likely settled in Lithuania in the 14th century or earlier. At that time, Lithuania was a pagan state ruled by the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, which encompassed present-day Lithuania, Belarus, and parts of Ukraine and Poland.
Thanks! My great grandfather, Isaac Kushner, who was Jewish, immigrated to the US from Panevezys.
If I spent a full day at each park in Lithuania, how long would it take? There are so many.
Good point! There are 30 regional parks all around Lithuania! And 5 national parks which are even bigger. It’s hard to visit them all in one summer. But each is beautiful in its own way 😊 One year there was a challenge in Lithuania to visit all the parks during the summer season, and my sister managed to do it but she almost had to travel full time 😄
