- Welcome to the latest episode of Big Trip! Today I am at Severn Tunnel Junction on the South Wales Main Line where services are seen by Great Western Railway, CrossCountry and Transport for Wales.
Severn Tunnel Junction was a great station to film again and although I've done it very recently, I returned here because the weather was so bad last time and the entire trip was just a mess. This time around, the station was so much better with weather and a few extra bits and bobs throughout. The station has the electric wires up but the wires aren't live as of yet, but not too long. Certainly an enjoyable station to film yet again, but it never doesn't get good here!

Great video Kieran!! Severn Tunnel Junction is a brilliant station and one I will hopefully be going to once lockdown has gone.
Ahh Severn Tunnel Junction. This vid has reminded me of seeing HSTs flyby in 2017. Sorry i wasnt present for the Premier, Year 11 stuff keeping me busy this week.
Yes that was a nice memory for sure. Year 11 work is much more important! :p
I’m still gonna try and make it if available
No worries!
43153 and 43098 were out vice a 166 that day for your information. Great video and tones from the HSTs!
Incorrect, that diagram is booked a 2+4, has been for a long while.

ree it would not be complete with me commenting here:
The 800/802s sound like they’ve been having music lessons like the 323s lol
“Ivybridge Railway Videos, who’s a massive meme” - LOL that cracked me up 🤣
Indeed haha, they sound rather interesting. He is a massive meme. ;)
Reading out all the stations on the Cardiff to Portsmouth train just reminded me of hearing it every time I travelled to uni and back :)
Nice memories then.
Great video, never been to STJ myself. Glad GWR are running the 2+4 HSTs into South Wales.
Thank you! I agree, it's a very welcome sight.
Sorry I missed it. I was working
No worries!
Great Video Mate 60015 (6B13) @ Robeston to Westerleigh.
Thank you bud!
Hi, the class 156s are at the new Landore depot. There are a whole batch of them coming from Scot rail two of them at the moment are based at Landore!
Correct indeed!
On Sunday the 8th of September I saw ScotRail 156507 go through Platform 4 of Cardiff Central, go into I'm guessing Canton Sidings and shortly after came back onto Platform 8 of Cardiff Central before leaving again which amused me! Definitely wasn't going to Barry Island :-P
I have a photo of ScotRail 156507 at Cardiff Central platform 8 if you or anyone's interested...? :)
Weird
@@southwalestrainspotting5090 I don't believe that's correct!
@@RWL2012 it is
Great video mate. I do like the class 800 and class 43 hst but I have a few this to say. Why does greater anglia, virgin trains, transport for Wales have the red white livery? And its a shame that soon virgin trains are going to get excluded and trenitalia is going to take over the West Coast mainline by this December and where are all the virgin trains voyager going to go. By the way trenitalia is my favourite trains because I used to live in Italy for 8 years and I always go to the train station
Thank you! It is a rather basic livery but it stands out very well, they shade it in their own way too so it's unique to the point. It is a shame but hopefully FirstGroup/Trenitalia do a good job.
Yeah it makes sense now first is taking over virgin
Sorry missed premiere because of no WiFi and didn’t know it happens
Thank you but you need to stop complaining you don't know about it. I post about them all the time.
