I believe it’s already a thing but it’s not just for Vipers. During Desert Storm, they organized aircraft into STRIKE packages. For anyone interested, I’d like to recommend looking into the story of the largest F-16 airstrike in history-the Package Q Strike. Among others, it includes the incredible story of Major Emmett Tullia (callsign “Stroke 3”)-the F-16 pilot who dodged 6 enemy SAMs without using any countermeasures.
A group of rattlesnakes is called a Rhumba, but vipers are called a Nest. What's the German word describing the joy one feels when watching lots of Sukhoi being blown to bits? SukhoiSchadenfreude?
I dont know what it is but seeing fighter jets flying is cool but seeing the F-22 do anything even sitting on the runway is cooler. Just looks so damn awesome.
Awesome video, LS! Great cinematics, as usual. Loved it when you formed up with those Vipers and love it when you splash Flankers, especially 6 of them!
A brilliant scenario which showcases the Raptor as it was intended to operate, high and fast. The USAF built the Raptor to "Take back the skies", so I always cringe a bit when GS is down there hugging the mud with it. It was intended to be used exactly in the manner you used it, and escorting a SEAD mission would be Job-1, as once those are gone the flying barns like the F-15/whatevers can operate in relative safety. (A B1b bomber has less than half the RCS of an Eagle, and a Viper with HaveGlass III about 6-7% of an Eagle.
" _A brilliant scenario which showcases the Raptor as it was intended to operate, high and fast. The USAF built the Raptor to "Take back the skies", so I always cringe a bit when GS is down there hugging the mud with it_ " THIS!
Just fyi, if you're trying for high mach at high altitude, the best approach is to accelerate *then* climb, not the other way around. Specifically, get a ton of speed (Mach 1.5+) around 30-40000ft then enter a relatively gentle climb, as power drops off significantly at higher alts. You can see how slowly your airspeed increased at 50k when you started at 200kts.
Six shots resulting in six new permanent residents in AMRAAM City and getting all four Vipers making it out of the hot zone. Well done, well done, well done.
DATELINE: MISSION BRIEFING: Flight lead - "Who we got on overwatch?" Commander - "Longshot." Flight lead - "Porterhouse rare, loaded baked potato, corn on the cob with extra butter..." Commander - "What are you doing?" Flight lead - "Ordering supper, sir. With Longshot on OW we'll be back safe in no time."
The Raptor sure is a scary bird when the best the opfor could achieve was to see you and maybe get a brief lock and no shots off at you. 6 Fox 3 and 6 kills because they could not effectively engage you let alone see you most of the time. Even though they say they will retire them after the 2030's it just seems so unlikely when they at least theoretically have these kinds of performance factors in an already built fleet. I mean look at the F-16, and the F-15, they just keep finding new ways to upgrade and use those fleets even half a century later.
imagine being on a high risk mission like that and seeing the f22 join up and be like, "i got you kids". when he rejoined i would be like, "thanks papa."
As Far as I'm concerned, Longshot and GrowlingSidewinder are the two best DCS accounts by a Longshot! (see what i did there?) Anyways...Amazing video and editing as always brother! Loved the setup with the F-22 escorting the F-16's! its always a pleasure watching you fly..and how you always explain everything...it has really helped me over the years majorly step up my game for Dogfights and BVR. Much love to you Sir!!! 💟
Absolutely enthralling Longshot, gotta stream this one to the widescreen tv. Way to dominate the skies. What’s not to love about the F22 AND the 16’s to be fair. Love the bubble canopies of those jets, un restricted view, awesome, just awesome ‼️
Love the video, but the F-22 can fly high as it's stealth, and SAMs can't detect it. So, shouldn't be a need to fly low. I see you take it higher later in the mission, and the low flying in the beginning was likely to get a nice view of the 4 ship; beautiful. This video was awesome man.
This. It seemed odd to me when he said that. The F-22 can fly high simply because SAMs can't detect it. That is unless of course it's not actually stealth in DCS since the game code doesn't recognize it as such.
"No big deal, just a little stroll through the park getting ace in one mission. Against Su-35's. That had SAM support. Did I tell you guys Putin has a "Longshot" lower back tattoo? Again no big deal" - Longshot
Such a great vid brother. You killed it. And as always, you put together such great editing to your vids. I love GS vids but you need to school him on the editing. lol Well done sir.
This was really neat, we NEVER see planes operating at those heights- that was cool ,seeing you at 50K- Lol, i imagine only if you were fighting a Blackbird, Foxbat, or Foxhound would you have to go to that 50K, 60K, etc regime where you're closer to 100K- but it's a neat role the Raptor can do. This was a epic mission!
This mod looks so good! it just needs some wheatering in the cockpit but the exterior looks spot on! and thats not eazy since the F-22 has a wierd looking skin
Very cinematic and a follow through mission. And there it is, stealth is a gamechanger! I liked your concern of the littleones. I recall a old statement about F22 and F35 but they are so superior each one so the doctrine changed. The others are just so behind so they cant keep up.
I would like to once more suggest doing a SEAD mission in an F-16 against the modernized Patriot SAM (a mod from CurrentHill), pretty please. In a recent update, the modder has also added the newest Patriot radar in existence, the LTAMDS, as an option to choose from (there are two more radar models included in the mod), which means that you could vary the difficulty of this SEAD mission based on the type of radar you’d choose. In general, I think that the main appeal of the mission could be its difficulty-you are a very skilled operator, LongShot, and it would be a pleasure to see you challenge yourself against such an advanced opponent.
Ive been studying for 3 months,i havent even got the game ,i realized it was very intimidating after watching the videos but i will be in the air soon💯
It doesn’t have it IRL. Surprisingly, it’s a pretty old jet by now and it hasn’t received any significant upgrades since its debut. Only now the USAF has secured funding for overhauling F-22’s systems in the near future as a stop-gap solution to counter emerging threats until the NGAD comes out (I’m not sure if the F-22 is going to get an HMDS though).
I see a video by LongShot: Step 1 - Click "Add to queue." Step 2 - Click "Like." Step 3 - Watch the video. Step 4 - Read the comments and like the best ones.
Man I need a new GPU. I have none of the bells and whistles turned on, low settings, and a Valve Index on a 3050, and 9600k. Seeing how realistic it looks with max settings is killing my soul.

What is that a skull of?
Wolf
6 Kills in one mission would make you a history making fighter pilot.
Ace in a day! Q: "How'd you do it?" A: " I'm invisible and inescapable."
Love these multi-role missions. Way more entertaining to watch.
I petition for a group of vipers to be called a strike.

No no no! A BROOD of vipers, like in the Bible.
I think it has to be.
A group of rattlesnakes is called a Rhumba, but vipers are called a Nest.

I honestly did not know the B1 had such a small RCS.
The backbone?
@@miletello1 it’s more like the eagles have huge rcs. The new EX should have reduced rcs compared to old C

THIS!
I'm loving the cinematic shots, especially when you broke off from the F-16s!
Just fyi, if you're trying for high mach at high altitude, the best approach is to accelerate *then* climb, not the other way around.

Great mission! Escorting the SEAD added a lot of intrigue. I loved the cinematic interlude of the air to surface combat in the middle of your BVR.
Thank you

It's like the US military gave us a live feed to the missions. DCS is incredible. Love the flyby shots.

Raptor formed up and was like "How do you do fellow F-16's?"
Same company made both planes, close enough haha
imagine being on a high risk mission like that and seeing the f22 join up and be like, "i got you kids". when he rejoined i would be like, "thanks papa."
I absolutely love the scene of the raptor flying in formation with the 4 vipers with the sun over the water in the background
I love the panic chaff as they realize their best laid plans for taking out a Viper are about to be ruined by an AMRAAM that's gone pitbull on them.
The shot a 3:54 could be a photograph! Beautiful! Deserves to be on merch or something.
As Far as I'm concerned, Longshot and GrowlingSidewinder are the two best DCS accounts by a Longshot! (see what i did there?)

12:46 Ok but why do I find these chaff-spamming funny 💀💀
Your cinematography is the best in the DCS RUclips biz, man. Top shelf. Love it.
I really appreciate it, thanks so much
9:12 Im glad you circled where they were on screen. In most cases it doesn't show them, especially on mobile

@@LongShotChannel You caused me to want to mess around with this F-22, and so I have been this evening, and it flies like a dream.
I can't use this I don't have the module
A single F-22 engine dry has 90% of the thrust of an F-16 engine in full afterburn.
U serious
So, I can understand having the F-16s flying low, but the F-22 should and can be up high disposing of the enemy planes.
This. It seemed odd to me when he said that. The F-22 can fly high simply because SAMs can't detect it. That is unless of course it's not actually stealth in DCS since the game code doesn't recognize it as such.
As an aside. After watching the video he was down low for that gorgeous shot.of the F-22 with the 4 ship. He goes high shortly thereafter.
"No big deal, just a little stroll through the park getting ace in one mission. Against Su-35's. That had SAM support. Did I tell you guys Putin has a "Longshot" lower back tattoo? Again no big deal" - Longshot
i honestly prefer the dynamic dcs missions. much more fun to watch then just dogfights
You can see why the US didn't sell the Raptor to other countries.
Okay, we need to see more of the camera-slaved-to-vertical-stabilizer shots. Those were cool as hell!
Nice mission, didn't expect that last pop up group!
The F-22 raptor is my favorite fighter jet because he has more Maneuverability than the F-35 Lighting II 👍
Multi role missions are more entertaining to watch. Please do more videos like these LS!
I love at ~4:25 in you light the burners as you peel away
Ive come to like your videos the best, LS. Great stuff.
Thanks so much
This might be my favorite Longshot video!
Much better use of the stealth plane than simply using it like any other gen 4 plane.
Yo man! :D I just jumped into DCS after years basically of hesitation and your videos are a pearl in the sea ! :D
Thank you
Such a great vid brother. You killed it. And as always, you put together such great editing to your vids. I love GS vids but you need to school him on the editing. lol Well done sir.

Thanks so much buddy

Can we get you and GS escorting an F35 strike group against SU 57’s
Ace in a day!
Never get tired of burning Sukhoi's!
It’s crazy, how much weight/loadout the Viper could carry. It’s just a rocket caring rockets
The visuals are stunning, keep up the good work, your videos are very good.
Thanks so much
Ace+ in a day! Great mission!

Who doesn't like a happy ending? Strong strats. It makes me wonder if you could do this for real. No doubt that question consumes you... :-)
This mod looks so good! it just needs some wheatering in the cockpit but the exterior looks spot on! and thats not eazy since the F-22 has a wierd looking skin
Wouldn’t the strike eagle be more fitted for this type of SEAD mission instead of F16?
Love your videos, thanks for your content!!!
Thanks so much
I enjoy every video you post ,amazing man keep it up
Thanks so much

Whereas I think the Russians need to find out the hard way how to defeat a Patriot. DUH!
once the raptor sees air to air combat eventually, i hope it makes history just like this!
Well done, Longshot!
Hi! Great video! Can I ask where/how you got the F-22 mod?
Great mission, that was fun!
Nice one. Raptor in it's Zone...
Your mission videos, too me over shadow GS one on one dog fights
Seriously both of you got me into DCS
Interesting that you are flying an Operational Test (OT) bird,
Ive been studying for 3 months,i havent even got the game ,i realized it was very intimidating after watching the videos but i will be in the air soon💯
F16s doing a wild weasel mission and bought their big brother along
Very good mission 👍
Wow.. fantastic video 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
Good job mamma bird! 😁
Very Cool Scenario.
Great video 👍
I haven't seen the video yet....but even Longshot can't screw this up. Right? Right....? Well...at least until he does his "thing".
Awesome video!
Nice piece of work!
very cool. raptor is GOAT❤❤
Awesome video again
Ace in a day! 🔥🤟🏼
No vipers were harmed during the making of this video.😋
Good one!
Amazing job! 👌
What a beautiful video
Thanks
Excellent...👍👍👍
How do you get the F-22 in DCS? And is it playable in VR
Ace in a day
f16s with huge drop tanks. f22 in burner the whole time and no drops?

I never hear a low fuel warning with the f22... Almost all of the F15, f16 videos ect have fuel management considerations
The F-22 mod does have fuel consumption modeled so it’s just down to LongShot managing his fuel consumption well.
I see a video by LongShot:

How do you get such beautiful thumbnails?
I'm very interested about this one in particular
I need a link for that soundtrack at the End of both rounds
nice movie.
10th like, and I couldn't be more proud.
