@@UbergeeksBiz very informative, how about lcd screen cable, I have a black screen on this laptop, it works with the external screen, but where is the model number for the lcd cable?
@@UbergeeksBiz I was really stupid and had put my laptop ( same model) on the stove. Idk how but it turned on slightly. There are burn marks on bottom of the the laptop that show the outline of the stove. I left out to cool and then turned it on and it still works perfectly. Is it safe to use?
Super appreciative of this video. Ten years ago, when my laptop acted funny, I could just unplug the battery out from the back, blow on it like a Nintendo cartridge and put it right back. Now, with my new HP, that’s not an option since everything is secured inside with screws. I couldn’t find any more screws and knew there had to be more. Your video showed me to peel back the grey strips to find them all hiding there! I never would have peeled that off to check for myself.
I have this very computer and today, June 2024, I discovered that the ram memory can be upgraded! Thanks to your video, wow. I'm going to do this; I found the ram memory on amazon where I bought my laptop. I read somewhere that there is a place to attach a 2nd SSD! wow. Thanks again. =)
Much appreciated man! My screen keeps flickering so I thought there was too much dust or something internally. Thanks to this I can positively say that wasn’t the issue. Thanks!
Thank you for doing this video. I walked step-by-step through this and just finished changing a mother board... with success. PC is running again. One thought, I might add, with doing this, I had to go through Microsoft's bit locker and recover the key encryption key for the drive. Not a hard process, but necessary to get the PC back up.
VERY informative video! Thanks for posting. I'm considering buying this laptop, and am trying to find the HP documentation, specifically User Manual. NO SUCCESS! Not even on HP site! I entered the model number 15-dy2021nr, and all I got was what seemed like a listing of all HP laptops and this model number was not there. Any ideas would be appreciated.
I enjoyed your teardown of the laptop with insight and descriptions on those little things! How about tips on keeping screws organized and safe, For faster assembly that includes all the screws.
Great video! Don’t forget about cloning ssd’s y’all. you don’t need to purchase Another windows key using a cloning application. I dig Samsungs software and ssd’s. Been using them for over 10 years.
10:08 I was wondering how to carefully wipe with surgical q tips to clean something that was spilt onto the laptop & some yougart got inside? I can see where it got into under the back of the laptop, there is just a little bit that got into the inside of the fan area, just a spot there on the outside of the fan cover an two very small spots by the USB ports, outside of them not all inside...this was some time ago, thought the kids broke it but fussed up about spilled fruit yougart...is it safe to use the pointed end of surgical qtip with alcohol on it to clean these parts?
thanks man! I love this laptop but it is definitely a flimsy thing isn't it?!? I've had to clip the back cover on in spots a few times and also the cover that goes around the screen joint. Thanks for the video 32gb ram going in soon along with external graphics card hooked up to the PCIe wifi card slot. simple but your video showed me what I am getting into before having to get into it :)
@@hugokjellberg7253 no. You remove the factory wifi card from the PCI slot to install the egpu plug. I used a external wifi card that plugs into a USB port. It's been working surprisingly well
@@hugokjellberg7253 at first I left the bottom off just to make sure it was going to work. Just place the cover inbetween the laptop and the egpu cord so the cord doesn't get hot. I have HP Laptop 15-dy2792wm that is not detecting the drive. Switched to a new one and still no detection. Any Advice. I am Afraid it is toast. used to have a BitLocker locked drive but no password.
Is there any way to disable the build in keyboard? I spilled water several months ago and it damaged some of the keys. The overall system still works fine, I just use an external keyboard instead. The problem I now have is that the volume key acts like it's being pressed on the built in so my audio will suddenly go to max which is really agitating when in lectures or meetings. And I have verified it's the build in that's the issue, it's 100% not the external one.

I just turned my mattress over knocking my drink over onto my open laptop. I turned over laptop, but now screen won't come on. Fan runs and lights work on sides....I vacuumed top, but not much was on laptop before I turned over. How can I get my photos or transfer data now?
Okay, so, I need help, I disassembled a device almost identical to this one to replace the SSD and for some reason it doesn't start up anymore, I don't know what the problem could be. My laptop doesn't start up but my motherboard has electricity. The C and USB port get a little hot when I plug I'm the charger, but when I press the on button not even the fan would run, it's almost dead and I don't know what happened
I need help because when running diagnostics it tells me there's no hard drive, but I've checked the SSD connection and it seems fine? Should I just go about replacing it?
