I hope this video is helpful for you guys, I am out of town at the moment but I will be getting to comments soon😊 let me know all your favorite papers for colored pencil!💜
Thank you for uploading this. ALthough I have good papers, mentioned, I'm struggling with the Royal Talens Sketchbooks and coloured pencils. I'm finding the paper too smooth and haven't yet adjusted to it. It's a shame, as it is the most affordable bound sketchbooks out there. Would you do a sketchbook haul for coloured pencils?
My favorite colored pencil paper is hot pressed watercolor paper. It stands head-and-shoulders above everything else Ive used. It doesn't need to be expensive, just as long as it's "hot" pressed.
I am not a stonehenge fan, just never got along with it and coloured pencils, but oddly enough the black stonehenge worked great for me I love fischer paper which is really glorified sand paper lol I tend to use papers that were originally meant for pastels for some reason lol
Next time I buy black paper, I'll buy the Stonehenge one! Also, I know that there's a bunch of people who use pastel mat for colored pencil, which makes sense to me because you can really layer. I was going to include pastel mat and a few watercolor papers in this video but it was getting too long so I may include those in a separate video!
there are so many different paper choices for coloured pencils they def couldn't be talked about in one video, well maybe if the video was a few hours long maybe
Mix Media paper is perfect for textured drawings- since the paper is already textured. “Extremely overly expensive” LOLZ! Some art papers are definitely over priced. It’s always a good day when you find reasonable priced paper 🙌🏻!! Ooooo a paper controversy 😱 *sips tea* ☕️. For the Strathmore drawing paper being labeled as “drawing paper” you’d think it would by at least thick enough to not crease. Cause creases in drawing are a no 🙅🏼♀️. Will have to try out that Strathmore Bristol Vellum 500 Series! Love that the texture is more even out on it. Awesome paper tips 👍🏻💖
I agree I become super frustrated with papers that crease, it’s not cool! The strathmore Bristol vellum 500 series is awesome but expensive but awesome! Thank you for watching😊💜
I got some Arteza watercolored pencils for doing ball jointed dolls in the future, but I am interested in also coloring my any drawing with it and decided to see what paper I could get. Suppose I do like the Mix Media if they give texture I do tend to like the look of it. Now which one to consider getting? 🤔
My favorite colored pencil paper is hot pressed100% Arches watercolor paper ,i use Strathmore drawing for graphite only its my fav. , and Strathmore Charcoal best for charcoal only :)
Thank you for this video, it is helpful but does not answer my concern. Im new to drawing. Using Caste Art gold and the Strathmore colored pencil paper. Im struggling with getting rid of the white and I find the texture on the colored pencil paper is weird, sometimes i see letters and almost words. It is not a uniformed pattern on the texture of the paper. I dont know if im saying it correctly but im not liking the colored pencil paler although i can not compare it to any other. Don’t know if I should continue or change to something else
Yeah I don't actually like the colored pencil paper either. Not sure why it is marketed as that. Try another mixed media paper, or even a hot pressed watercolor paper and see if you like that better. I am still on the hunt for a regular paper for graphite or colored pencil that is not crazy expensive/hard to find but also better quality
I secretly quite like using printer paper with coloured pencils! 😆 But mostly I've used Stonehenge, Fabriano Artistico Hot Press and I also really love Derwent Lightfast paper but that one is insanely expensive. Sacrificing paper for the channel...lol, I've done that too! 😂
The pencils actually blended better in printer paper than what I would have thought😂 fabriano artistico is good too, I haven’t used it too much for colored pencil but I have roll of it somewhere(unless I ran out by now). Seems like the whole derwent lightfast range is super expensive but I’ll get my hands on them one day😈

I’ve heard this a lot and maybe it’s time for me to make use of my hot pressed watercolor paper?!
@@AlexisCassandraArt would love to hear your feedback on it. Especially the fact that they aren't thick like cardstock
Thank you Alexis for another great video! It's very helpful😁🤍🥰

Thinks I learned from it I use strathmore mixed media 300 series for my turtle I normally use the gray and tan toned paper for colored pencils
I love the mixed media! I think gray and tan paper looks really good with colored pencil too

Mixed media papers are good, but best for watercolor would b watercolor papers- go with anything 100% cotton
@@AlexisCassandraArt Does cotton also have a good texture as well?
Thanks you for sharing! Love it so much !

How much it will cost if I will buy the Faber Castell colour pencil
It really depends where you live and where you buy them from! I would s compare Amazon prices to other local or online shops depending where you live
Thanks for sharing this vid is very helpful 😍😍😍
