Oh this book looks great! just seeing the skeleton captain inspired me so much! I imagine a man who in life had a great beard, and in death is envious of himself so he fashions a beard made of seaweed! "Call me weedbeard!" He has an old time gun that shoots a single bullet before needing to be reloaded, but the bullets are his own finger bones. They might do necrotic damage if they remain in a hapless characters body, though perceptive players might notice a slight pull towards the captain at all time as if the finger bone wants to be reunited with it's hand. Especially useful if the captain hides! And of course Hilarity ensues once the captain notices he shot away his trigger finger!
I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find an Ose group? I’m 14 and no one around my ages likes dnd, or if they do it’s 5e, any help would be very much appreciated
I wish the *punk aesthetic would be scaled down even more, there are still lots of pointlessly different fonts, some of them a bit hard to read. Thankfully though, it definitely looks better and more readable than Mörk Borg.
You planning on looking at any of the new lotfp books? The staffortonshire trading company works of john williams is very useful for running games set in the 17th century or more generally as inspiration for your own structures
Respectfully disagree. Having some movement and a human touch in the vid is helpful and engaging IMO. It might sound silly, but even in the physical book reviews, seeing Ben's hand movements and gestures makes me engage more with what's on screen. It's a small thing, but the videos benefit from it.
Honestly very creative layouts like mork borg are only doable when there's a small page # if you get into more lengthy gamebooks like Zweihänder then it would be not only exhausting to work on each page and come up with something fresh on every spread but it will take the designer a long time to finish. Probably 6 month to a year. Pirate Borg does seems to improve the messy layout that is Mork Borg. Granted the original book looks fun and cool but it's hard to read.
Mörk Borg translated is dark castle. so.. Pirate Borg translated is pirate castle? I understand trying to tie the product together but the name is just kinda dumb from a literal standpoint.
It can loosily translate to any sort of foritified structure. Castle, fort, stronghold, etc... So this could be Pirate Fort. But yeah... it could have a better name. Maybe Kraken Borg, or Dodens Hav Borg, meaning Oceans of Death Castle.

Mörk Borg's themes are a little dark for me, but a lot of the tables/rules/material in this book looks amazing
IMO this game is not dark, or at least dont has to be dark, it is like Pirates of the Caribbean with more magic and overall supernatural.
I've never hit "Notify on launch" as quickly as I did for this project. You're right about Monkey Island being a true mark of culture in a person :)

I really like Age of Sailing/Pirate-themed settings and that with Mörk Borg sounds like really good fit!
Mörk Borg is pronounced "M-UH-rk Bor-J". :)
as a swede i like the murk burg pronounciation better, its incorrect of course but sounds nice :D

I love the art! Backed immediately! Thank you for the review.
Derelict ship generator! How cool is that!?!
As a Swede I guess you should pronounce it kinda like ”mirk borj” (but with a sort of rolling ”r”). I wish I could write in phonetics on my phone. 😊
I don't need it...
I don't need it...
I defiantly don't need it...
I NEED IT!!!
Thanks for sharing this! Backed it right away, it looks awesome.
Visually this resource is stunning. What an excellent product
I heard it pronounced "Mourick Bury."
I'm told the actual pronunciation is very close to this but not exact.
I could never understand how nerds found fellow nerds to play these board RPG's, but the boxes and pages are truely works of art in themselves.
You should have a set of Lawnmower Man-style CGI hands for these pdf reviews.
Can we get a review on the megadungeon stonehell?

yes but to clarify... your *vision* fills with water, not your eyes!
You are correct that they're mixing up thy and thou, and I'm not sure why.
I like mork Borg, but pirates added are an instant sell.

Wow! Looking at it doesn't make my eyes bleed =D
"Thou dost" is, I think, how it would be said
Is this a stand-alone setting or do I need other books
It's standalone. Though I would still recommend the other books!
This looks so good! Definitely want it.
Friendly guide for people who don't have Swedish vowel sounds: Murk/Merk or Moo-erk BOAR--yee
As I understand it Mörk Borg the pronunciation is "Myerk Boar- ay"
Thanks.

Yeah, but you think I should change that font? I wanted it to feel like a journal or letter, but the Ps and Gs are especially hard to read.
Ah, keeping zombies...fresh
Can you play this with out a GM...
Probably should be called Mörkt Hav or something like that instead of Pirate Borg.

Hi ben! Will you look at cy_borg?
Ok fine, I went in on this, so hoist high the Jolly Roger and ... where's the rum?
It's gone. It's always gone....
Is this system dnd basically?
This game looks awesome!
The picture in picture feed of you speaking was a little odd. Not sure it added anything to the video. No offense intended.

They definitely bungled the thous and thys.
Do you need minatures to play this game?
No you do not! I recommend them for ship combat, but they are not required.

That should be "thou".
They need an English language editor.

The funniest thing about these games is that pirate code forbids women onboard! This one is just another curse of the black pearl ripoff
