I like how certain human characters from the past microgames have gotten visibly older in WarioWare Gold. I noticed this in the Twisted showcase too, it's a nice touch!
Two I can think of off the top of my head are the piano teacher in Tune Out, and the Kung-Fu student becoming an old master in Self-Defense, for starters. There are probably others, too, but those are two really noticeable ones.
funny how in warioware gold, most of the touched! microgames comes with orbulon and young cricket, even though they weren't even playable in this game :P
@Jonah The savage Orbulon and the taxi duo had to be left out to give room for new characters and introduce them. Young Cricket's debut was in Smooth Moves, which was also a reason to ditch Crygor from main plot of SM.
I like how in the coin microgame, on level 3, Wario goes "can't fool you!" they recorded this one line specifically just for this one microgame (i think this is the only one), and that's beautiful
"Can't fool you!" plays for a few other microgames as well, although when playing a microgame on it's own, you'll more likely hear the character's aquivelant to it. I've gotten Tread carefully in all mixed up once, and when I completed it, wario said "can't fool you!"
@@raymaikeru they also have specific lines for when they try to throw a curveball, such as not tapping the alarm clock to allow it to wake up the person when you would normally have to tap stuff repeatedly.
It might be how the graphics for the games are all in the same style for the most part in Gold. In twisted, one of the microgames called Big Drip looks like it was made in MS Paint. The same microgame in Gold looks like most of the other microgames
I find the remakes to be a bit too clean and looses allot of charm. All the other Wario Ware game felt like a collection of games by tons of different developers. Some games having an un-canny valley look to them and some looking like chicken scrabbles. You can see in the games themselves that they had a blast drawing and conceptualize each game. Now it looks way too generalized and looses that hand touch that the other games brought. Probably still great as a collection but I feel the original Touch has allot more charm and fun to it.
But it could also count as some sort of development. The characters have been making games so many times so they'll know how to present their games to look good at this point
+BuringLowJump Hmm, I never looked at it like that... Thought it has to be said, apparently Diamond City has Springfield Syndrome where time clearly passes between games (9-volt having the latest Nintendo console, Jimmy T upgrading from a flip phone to a smart phone, etc.) yet nobody never seems to age.
however, some characters have aged/changed, i believe 9-volt and 18-volt are moving up in grades, some characters have slightly altered designs showing age, (crygor gaining more robotic parts, 9-volt having more hair, etc)
Even if some of the characters has changed, that doesn't change some facts like 9-Volt living through 3 generations of consoles, yet is still stuck in elementary. Not really a problem honestly, just pretty humorous to think that character's like Kat and Ana have been kindergartners for 15 years now.
I'm seeing this opinion quite a bit and I think it's really bad since it's not even true. like, more than half of the minigames are almost exactly the same as they were on the original. And it's even worse if you bring up Touched because imo it's the one that has the least charm and humor out of all the WarioWare games with a lot of minigames that just end in a lame "OK!" screen. (the original team was only involved in it at the very very end) .
Any original game, it felt like you could just draw the kanji symbol anyway you want. In this game, it expects you to know the proper way to draw them.
Well, the old version had nearly 10k hits in roughly 6 hours which is a new Personal Best for my channel. I'm going to take my time for my next comparison video.

The most charmless is Inc. to be honest, you can tell if a microgame is from Inc or not so easily. The Inc microgames are kinda boring tbh aside from some little exceptions

I've seen some comments about how the new version of "Write On, Dude" at 23:25 is too hard especially when writing the level 3 characters. All I can say is that learning some proper stroke order goes a long way to doing well in that microgame, otherwise the game will have no idea what you were trying to write.
259 When you fail, it shows the red template (almost) implying that the player's line strokes should have been thicker. Then I figured out how to win the game ;)
