The oldest identifiable coin i ever found was in my own backyard. It's a 4 Maravedis that was minted between 1520-1545. my mind was blown when I found it.
I recently got into the hobby so to practice I did the same in my own yard, only I find mainly toy cars from the 80s and modern coins. My mom has a property more than 100 years old though so I’m happy to go out there this weekend and maybe find something good! That’s awesome though man happy for you
@@gizmo1252000 you are blessed to live in such a rich in history area. Here in the states we find arrow heads thousands of years old but with the exception of one civilization most natives never worked metal way back then.

Billy's talking rollocks! That's the correct name for his reins guide he thought could have been oar orientated. Great to see him him out about again and you guys enjoying the day with some fantastic finds. Cheers from Hampshire in England.
Hey Billy, I'm so pleased to have you out here hunting! I've missed your expert knowledge and your eye for history. Hope you can make a bunch more trips.
Great seeing Billy again..... always love seeing Muck and You. Congratulations on your 8 Meravedis It is just breath taking. Such greatness!!! 24:25 Awesome glass finds old Blob top bottle top from about 1840s and put a black light on the other piece that is Uranium glass! 25:26 being the delicate condition of the key I would recommend putting the key into a potato for a couple months, it will very carefully bring it back to life. I don't know if the shoulder got bent or if it was made that way but a potato would help reveal that. I have only seen side blade mounted keys for special things like custom made jewelry box in a dresser or a carefully placed desk lock in a tight hidden corner location. It would not be an often used key being it would not hold up to rough use. I LOVE IT!! 25:10 is AMAZING coin purse, find a way to get it preserved before it disappears, That is so beautiful!!! Thank you for an amazing Treasure hunt of history!!!
@@Wildkarrde2484 Oddly enough it cleans copper and other metals beautifully. I had a badly corroded unidentifiable penny, I shoved it in a potato per an old coin dealers suggestion and left it for a few hours. When I first checked it it was cleaner and the corrosion came off in the potato. So I shoved it back and for another couple of hours and it came out a little more cleaner. after a 3rd time I could actually make out a faint imprint of 1943 and the green corroded coin looked tons better. I cleaned it with distilled water and dried it off to stop any more "activity" It was explained to me it is sorta like electrolysis. I am no genius I am too scared to leave the coins in very long but it really did give me great results
man o man, what I wouldn't do to leave work, grab my detector and meet up with the boys in the middle of the woods around an untouched foundy. A guy can dream lol
Great seeing you again Billy! Congrats Kurt! What a find it was, but you wouldn't have found it without Billy! Til next week boys! Bring Billy with you, it's his turn too find something special!
Congratulations Kurt! That’s an awesome find. Amazing what you get when you least expect it. Found a 1640 netherlands lion daalder on a jersey beach just a little in the surf but deep and barely a whisper in the earphones at low tide after finding a modern quarter a few feet away. Thanks for all the videos as always.
@@heritagerelichunters9922 I had to look it up I first thought I had an 8 reale. Had never heard of one before then. Congratulations to you! I am also se pa near Telford. Just happen to be down the shore!
I have been a loyal fan of the show for years and very much enjoy every episode. I am always working when I get the notification but I make sure to watch in the evening. Keep it up guys. You are appreciated.
I knew it from the pic! Great Find Kurt! I have only found 1 myself and it is not in good shape. Glad Billy was there! Also, Love the modern Fish bone Billy put on his board lol
Another video guys. Like those awesome relics congrats to Bill finding the large copper and rein's guide. Muck that's a very cool change purse and big congrats to you Kurt finding the 1600's hammered copper Spanish Cob. Hope to see more of Bill in the videos.
Hey Billy. Great to see you again and you got a copper. Nice! Incredible find Kurt with the 17th Century coin. And muck with the cool change purse. The V-Nickel has a similar color stain on it. Might have been from the purse.
Awesome episode Kurt!! Great seeing Billy, looks like you all had fun! Congrats on the hammered copper! Wow!! Best line...hopefully she lost her chastity belt too! LMAO 🤣🤣 Thanks for taking us along. God Bless and stay safe!
Kurt, what a great find, a Hammered Spanish Coin minted back in the 1600's. Is minted the right word when it made with a hammer? That coin is 200 years older than my oldest coin. Congratulations
Yes, Ancient Greek coins can be worth a premium if they’re from a particular mint and they were all hammered. The first screw press was used in Italy in 1506. Early American coins were made with screw presses until the 1830’s when steam powered presses replaced the original methods.
I could be wrong but I believe your "Chastity belt key" is a pocket watch winding key. Pretty sure I saw one almost just like it when I was trying to identify some of my watch keys. Awesome episode guys.
Glad to see the gang working it out again. Great digs, sure looked like a fun day in the end despite the fact you were gaining water weight being waste-deep most of the day. :)
Billy is definitely a good luck charm!! Holy cow what a find!!! I wouldn’t even be able to detect anymore after that 😂😂 AMAZING! All those lead fishing weights and zincolns paid off!! Haha cheers!
Cool old coin!! Was great to see Bill!! I just remembered the dating site ad for Bill. I know he's had a date or two since but... This episode's copper didn't have one. Anyways another enjoyable Hoover Boy's video!!

That is great. Take it slow. Listen to every beep and concentrate on the deep ones. I use a Nox800 and this coin was well over a foot deep.
my oldest coin is a Vespasian. Tripot Denaruis AD 69 . but im cheating in the uk :P
