An IR screening blanket to put over a soldier being transported could be very useful in protecting against drones with IR cameras.

Military assistance from the U.S. will be little more than an expensive decoration if the recipient is not motivated. If it is given to a willing recipient, the effect will be enormous.
Fortunately for us, Ukraine is the latter.

Great piece of equipment,. but why not have even the simplest suspension upgrade ? I'm sure it could then travel more difficult terrain, and keep from further injury to the wounded. Mabey study an off road remote control toy truck. Shocks and coils are a lot cheaper than men and weapons.

You need tracks or an 8-wheel drive or your machine will get bugged down in the mud.
Most of this robot can be 3D printed in PETG, including the tracks (like the ones as per RCTestFlight YT channel).
Heat and strength sensitive parts can be in Aluminum or steel.
You need to make it cheap and easy to make. 3D printing is the answer if you know plastics.

    • @DragonsinGenesisPodcast

A most excellent design and use of this remote GND-Drone vehicle. Well done! However, a six-wheeled drive system will be more terrain capable over hill/ditch type terrain. This will, or should allow larger ammo payloads and munition or supply transport for various mission profiles. It's just a thought End.

It's an interesting start. But until it can travel over irregular terrain faster than a soldier can run, its use will be quite limited.
It mentioned taking all day (implying over 8 hours) to travel it's Summer time travel distance of 20 kilometers (12 miles).
So, its travel speed is at best a the pace of modest walk.
It needs a suspension, or at least large, very low pressure tires that serve as a suspension..It also should be able in most instances to right itself in the event it flips.

And triple the weight and halve the range? Their best defence in this situation is the ability to stay as low to the ground as the size of the (necessarily large) battery allows and therefore stay in cover while moving faster than would normally be possible while staying so low. I'd have gone for soft tracks like the ones on mini excavators to minimise ground pressure and the risk from mines. Wide footprint to put tracks on the outside with batteries and payload between them, thus minimising profile and maximising stability, but that may be a slightly different project. The tracked low ground pressure version would be far more useful in the muddy season, too.

Back in December of 2017, in "The Ai Wars" on Medium - "Imagine if Putin invaded Ukraine with slaughterbots. China would gladly exert more military pressure on the South China Sea and the strait of Malacca." and "tanks are obsolete, as are helicopters, because they are large targets. Aircraft carriers are not as threatening as a swarm of mechanical dolphins." and "The surest way to conquer is to disable your rival’s infrastructure. Like General Sherman’s march, drones will be trained to target equipment and facilities" and "humans with tele-operation can pull the trigger of a gun with wheels." Yup. got those right. Consider this from the same essay: "Robots with non-lethal weaponry allow for general suppression of a population - the robots can set-up and maintain a larger perimeter, as well as rapidly segment regions to cut enemy supply lines and movement of forces. Non-lethal robots quarantine quadrants, and ensure safe passage for your own forces." Other essays dive into the concepts, from "Rocket-Deployed Flying Squirrels with Guns" to "Bad Things"... the Uncanny Valley is the next battlefield.

the rubber wheel is not the real one, as you can see in the video, it needs a track, its movement is much more stable, right?

So why not make a version to support rotating troops by providing drone detection and destruction?

It will need a bigger chassis, right now this one is too small, and when you put the gun on it, it is clearly not stable enough and on a very uneven terrain, it can probably tumble and getting stuck then.

I don't like the wheel system for a heavy top load...the wheels could be a little more apart and lower to ground body weight...and independent suspension ..the fields there are rough and cratered...and sometime boggy...they need more stability on the wheel to body weight to height ratio..it looked unbalanced even with just the gun mounted in the field.
