This is the best Alcohol Channel on RUclips. You guys drink all different kinds of spirits, and you are older gentlemen with lots of experience drinking experience and this is important because you drank bottles from the 1980's and saw the evolution of the American whiskey market.

$1500 for a 500 ml blend from a big corporate brand? That's a very tough sell. There is a very long list of single malts you could get for that money which also come in full size bottles. For a blend maybe a Black Bull 40 but that's still closer to $1000. I don't think I've ever heard of a Compass Box close to that price. By the way I love the honesty and the comparisons to other big corporate blends. Great video

So glad you did this. I have the 21, 27 and 32 and would have had FOMO for the 36. I tried a 25 year old Highland Park this past weekend, and while it was really good, it did not blow me away, especially for the pour price. Keep up the good work!

I'm a HUGE fan of Aberfeldy which is owned by Dewar's. Aberfeldy is their single malt while the Dewar's line are blends. Digging through your channel and I haven't seen Aberfeldy just yet, so definitely give it a try! I've got dozens of bottles in my lineup to include the 12, 16 Madeira, 18 red wine cask, 18 cabernet sauvignon cask, 21, 21 madeira and the 25 year "125 year celebration". Definitely one of my all time favorite single malts!

At the onset of the pandemic, I started watching you three discuss alcoholic beverages. I didn’t really drink at the time but started enjoying one pour every Friday. I became very curious and occasionally bought something you all rated highly. I bought the Dewar’s 32. I am enjoying it right now and agree that it is the best scotch I have ever tasted. Thank you for sharing your opinions and tips to enjoy great (or not so great) pours. What a beautiful experience this video was.

I mean I understand what Dillan's getting at I think. "Are we giving the quieter/singularly focused scotch their proper due in the face of exceptional and bold flavored scotch?" I think the answer is NO. And I do wonder if some of what I own is getting "lost".
All I can say is that I truly do what I can to root for every single bottle I own. I will gladly "stack the deck" in every bottles favor in order to get the most and best experience out of them for having spent the money I have.

So to make the 32 yr at 750 ml at the price you guys paid for that one as mentioned in that review it would have come out to $300 but for 750 ml of the 36 yr the price is $2250 and both are the same abv. so for an extra 4 yrs the price is an extra $1950! Not sure how Dewar's can justify that, but thanks for the review and I'm sure the 36 will open up significantly over the next many months, maybe revisit it for Christmas? Cheers.

OK, you guys absolutely have to try a Royal Salute, that's north of 30. I'd recommend the Royal Salute 32 Union of the Crown. It should be 1/2 the price of the Dewar's 36. If Dutch is that much of a fan of the CR25, he should absolutely love the RS. Fun episode. Cheers.

If you are totally ambivalent on tequila vs. scotch - then the Tears is probably the better value since you are getting more liquid for your money. That said, the Dewars did score higher for us.

"Saying it's trapped is the epitome of == Ralphy usualy says add some water. Let it sit open for some time. Not to judge if you don't like it. Price is scary for sure. Seems like an indicator of the base spirit not being that good. Just saying. Haven't had any of their stuff. Sounds like i don't need to. What about bush mills, entry level is reasonable and flavorful. I'm not saying it's mind blowing. But they do have a 20 and 30 year old. The side by side of young vs old is maybe helpful. If regular is not good, it seems to reason the older isn't always better.

If the simple math of price vs about how much is left in the cask from aging. Not much is left
I think some examples various makers have indicated is less than 100 bottles per cask is left. One site is saying 2%-5% per year. Fun to try, not to buy

Definitely curious to know how it is in a month or so, but I can't see it improving enough to justify that price. At least it's a 500ml instead of 375!
