I think I would die laughing if the whole Thalmor and Stormcloak/Empire Civil War conflict was just ignored in the main quest of VI, and it turned out the whole thing was resolved by finding a letter in Elder Scrolls VI that just read "Oh yeah, you know all that Thalmor stuff? Other than the Paarthurnax and High Hrothgar there's nothing particularly notable on the mountain, so assuming they haven't kept something under wraps in the lore, the most likely stone would be Paarthurnax as I don't think they would make a castle a tower stone. Delphine probably isn't aware of this if it's the case, it would be an unfortunate circumstance.
He's awesome, which is a shame, because my headcanon logic is to stifle my sentiment and kill Paarthurnax because I know, by his own admission, that he fights every day to keep his evil back, and with eternal life eventually he's going to eventually break his concentration after long enough and become just another tyrant again.

The Winterhold questline is the prequel of Elder Scrolls VI main story. Quaranir and the Psijic Order will use the next hero in the Order's ideological and literally battle with the Thalmor. This will be the Altmer civil war instead of a Nordic one.

    • @ReformedSauron
      @ReformedSauron Год назад +13

Interesting and quite possible. It's very clear that the order does not trust the Thalmor, nor the Thalmor them. I have heard a theory which states that the Psijic Order intends to use the Eye of Magnus to create a new tower. Unfortunately I'm very fussy on the details, but supposedly that's why they wanted it so bad.
There is also the theory that the Thalmor no longer serve the divines but might be in service to Boethiah to accomplish their ultimate goal and a revelation like that to the Altmer people would have colossal cultural impact that could trigger a civil war. Altmer culture would experience some sort of mass red pilling. If they fail the towers goal, the Psijics could give the truth to the Altmer, and the whole house of cards comes crashing down.

That would be pretty awesome tbh. I think, since Skyrim has a pro and anti Imperial path, TES 6 could have one route uniting Hammerfell and Cyrodiil like proposed in the video, and another getting the Redguards to aid the Altmer dissident faction in overthrowing the Thalmor and then making a deal to keep the Imperials off each other's backs. Maybe not exactly like that, but the Redguards have to figure in there somewhere since TES 6 is supposed to take place in Hammerfell, and it's not like they've ever had a lot of love for the Empire either.

While this is a great video; really well put together and covers a good bit of lore, I'm also fairly sure that the idea of the Thalmor wanting to "unmake" the world and destroy/deactivate the Towers isn't, in any way, canon. My understanding was that it was an erroneous piece of lore someone put into one of the wikis which was then circulated around the community and has since been debunked. Of course I could be completely wrong on that - it's been a while since I looked at that part of the lore... guess we'll need to wait for the next game to be completely certain.
Either way, I definitely agree that the Thalmor, and Aldmeri Dominion as a whole, will play a big part in the next game. If the prevailing theory of it being set in parts of both Hammerfell and High Rock is right, we could be in for a great game with some really interesting lore.

    Great video.
My theory: the attack on the Empire was entirely a suicide mission. They let the Emperor get away to gather reinforcements. They sent in that army to sack the capital, but had no intention of keeping it. They used this attack to deactivate the White Gold Tower, which they had more than enough time to do. After that, they waited for the Empire to return and wipe them out. This completely distracted from their true goal to the destroy of the Towers. Destroy the White Gold Tower and withdraw would have raised suspicion and risked their sages from finding out. So they attack the capital, sack it, allow the Emperor to escape, deactivate the tower, then get wiped out. Now everyone sees this as a failed military operation, when in fact it was entirely successful and no one has any clue. Some soldiers and some humiliation are a small price to pay for total victory.

TL;DR, I love this video and the lore it explains, however I really do not believe the Elder Scrolls 6 main plot will center around the Aldmeri Dominion.
I found this really interesting since it dives pretty deep into the lore of what is actually going on in the Elder Scrolls games. It's very common that people look at the Elder Scrolls games and see the surface level lore, like oh the main quest needs me to stop Mehrunes Dagon, or oh the main quest needs me to stop Alduin, but most people easily miss the constant ongoing story that is secretly turning all the gears and moving all the pieces that allow the main events of the game to even properly occur the way they do, which is what this video is covering. I love that this video does a pretty impressive job covering all of that information and draws attention to it so well.
With that said... Do I think that the Elder Scrolls 6 main story line will be centered around the resolution of the Aldmeri Dominion's plot to essentially control the towers and possibly bring all of mankind towards extinction?
    No.
The Story of the Aldmeri Dominion and their constant orchestration of controlling all of the pillars of creation and eventually bringing about the extinction of mankind is always a constant ongoing plot that although is constantly influencing many of the events of the main plots in most of the games, it's not really meant to be a focal point of the plot. It's primarily designed to be a secret conspiracy against the entire world that is not supposed to be so obviously solved and understood. We as lore obsessed fans can obviously figure it out and understand it because we have the patience to look at all the pieces and put it together as a puzzle, but our understanding of that information is essentially our reward for being so studious and observant to the deeper and more complex parts of the game lore.
The Aldmeri Plot is meant to be secretive and hidden and although I do believe that at some point in the future it will need to resolve, I really do not believe it will ever be resolved in a manner that is so obvious and blatant as being the main story line of an entire Elder Scrolls game, let alone it being the main plot of the sixth Elder scrolls game.
My guess is that Elder Scrolls 6 will have some main plot that is otherworldly like many of the previous games have been before it, and the role of the Aldmeri Dominion will be as it has continued to be in the previous games, forwarding their machinations towards mankind's extinction hidden in the background as always, but once again moving the pieces a little more in their favor, as well as probably having their influence involved in the main plot as well, like always. I would also believe that there may even be a quest line or two that will also shine some more light as to the development of what they are working on.
I just look at the Aldmeri Dominion plot as something that can't really be wrapped up in the Elder Scrolls 6, it is far too deep and influences way too many events across way too many game plots. It would literally be ending what may be one of the longest ongoing secret story arcs spanning across most of the games they've created, and it would literally be the ending of a major influence of how the writers develop the ongoing narrative of the Elder Scrolls. In other words, it would to a degree imply that Elder Scrolls 6 would be the last Elder Scrolls Game within this particular Story Arc, and thus the writers would practically have to write a whole new ongoing narrative, which I really do not believe, based on the Aldmeri Dominion Plot, is ready to be ended yet.
I'm okay with being totally wrong about this. If Elder Scrolls 6 ends up being all about ending the Aldmeri Dominion, than so be it. I just think that people would have a very difficult time connecting all the pieces to how that plot came to be at this point within the ongoing Aldmeri conflict.

    I can see it now:
You, the fated hero, breaking out of a Thalmor Interrogation site amongst a prison riot with the help of a disillusioned agent. It's here he tells you of the Altmer plans for Iliac Bay, tells you where to meet his contacts, and throws you on board a ship of Thalmor-allied Breton Mercs already headed out to sea.
But disaster hits. The Thalmor have caught up to your boat, and they blast it apart to make it look like a shipwreck. You are flung out of the ship and into the sea.
You wake up in Hammerfell's southern shores, miles away from your goal, and with Thalmor agents nipping on your heels. Redguards sift through the wreckage, see you with Thalmor markings, and bring you in.
This is where the game starts.

I enjoyed your breakdown of the Thalmor and ever since I played the Dominion storyline in ESO I've been super interested in what the events that made the Thalmor into what they are today. Especially given how there was that racist undertone that Queen Ayrenn did not seem to have. Her goals were for the whole world to be under her wing as she felt she was the best to lead not because she saw other races as beneath her but because she had the typical narcissism you see in people in leadership roles. Granted ESO is seen as not cannon by some and as cannon by others but I feel that it is the best look we have into the beginnings of the Aldmeri Dominion in game. Ok now this is getting long so I'll cut my thoughts off here 😅

I’m also really interested in how the Thalmor evolved into what they’ve become in 4E 202 from their roots. However, Ayrenn was kinda inherently racist as she felt Altmer were the ones who needed to rule the “younger” races that she felt hadn’t had the time to learn how to rule an empire. But I see your point. She was very willing to bring in other races and let their ideas give her direction on her decisions and was open to new cultural influences being good for Summerset.

@@greenflame070 You make an excellent point. Honestly it's what had me cringing during parts of Cadwell's Silver. For someone who feels she has to be the one to look after the "younger" races she can be very naive and has a hard time facing reality. Her own brother betrayed her, her sister-in-law was trying to overthrow her and there seemed to be some hand waiving on her part. She had bad apples up and down her leadership and it takes the PC to bring it to light and even then in the case of her brother it took so much for her to drop the "hero" line and it didn't feel completely dropped. I really hope we get some in game lore dropped in TES 6 about the first and second Aldmeri Dominion. I need to know what happened.

By politically staying Neutral, it could open them up to their own Spy Network to assist Hammerfell in secret.

Before I watch, I just want to say it doesn't matter what the Thalmor plan is, I doubt they're gonna be able to withstand the Stormcloak Rebellion....
Everyone knows the Stormcloaks are very capable of defeating the Empire.
With the events of Skyrim and with the Civil War going on, I think the Stormcloaks would win, especially with the help of the dragonborn (Who is Most Likely Stronger Than Vivec)
With all this in mind, the threat isn't the Empire that is just a small step in a far larger war that will happen, and that war is with the Thalmor... I think that the Thalmor when realized that the empire lost the war they'll send forces to Skyrim to quell the rebellion, but they will FAIL... The moment they fail they will send an even larger force to start a New War that will spread across all of time Tamriel.
Here's why I think the Thalmor will lose, The Thalmor won't only be facing against Nords and Stormcloaks, They'll also be fighting against a lot of the Argonian forces as well same with alot of the d
Dark Elf, Redguard, Wood Elves, Orcs they will also join the fold as well..... The Thalmor will be forced to fight almost every major race Tamriel has to offer. Before the White Gold Concordat... They didn't have that type of problem (Because the war was split into 3 sides)
I believe even the Khajiit will betray the Aldmeri Dominion and join just because they don't want to be subjugated anymore.... Plus, people have to realize that the Redguards were one of the Main Races that were able to withstand the forces of the Aldmeri Dominion and push back the Thalmor in the war.
They actually talk about this in the events of Skyrim.
When the Redguards (In Whiterun) tell you to go "Look For Redguard Women" (Saadia) They will talk about how she betrayed The Covenant... He goes on and says that the Redguards that were fighting the elves were "alive and well" and gaining strength... By the time the Civil War ends, the Redguards will be at full strength... Who do you think they'll want revenge on? That's right the Thalmor, They'll join the Stormcloaks most likely and fight.
Here's another thing, I believe that the Companions (Companion Warriors Of Whiterun) will be forced to get involved or at least as mercenaries... Because of the stories of Ysgramor.
I think when they get Ysgramor's Axe the high elves will start searching for and try to take it from them and they companions will retaliate (Joining The War)
I guess we will never know until the next Elder Scrolls game... We will get to see what happened with the event of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Not just that but we will be able to see how strong the Redguards are in their current standing... If they have the capable strength, they will most likely join up with the Stormcloaks and take the fight to the Thalmor without a doubt.
Races, I know for a fact that would have problems the Thalmor are....
Argonians, Nords, Red guards, Dak Elves, Wood Elves, Orcs... I think that's it.
The Khajiit are a mystery because of the events of ESO They were subjected by the elves yes but they were made into Royal Guards... So not treated like slaves by the Aldmeri Dominion but still treated as lesser... So more wood elves than the Khajiit but still.
So it would be almost every major race against the high elves aka The Thalmor or more known as the Aldmeri Dominion.
I can't wait till Elder Scrolls VI: Hammerfell... It's gonna be so fuckin good.
Edit: The Lost Power the Thalmor lost if I understand that right.
Could they potentially use the Eye Of Magnus or even his staff to regain that ability and that power.
If that's the case, they would also try to pick a fight with the Pijiic Order and if that happens, the order will also get involved in the war and helped the Stormcloaks as well🤣😂 The Thalmor Are Fucked

They literally have dragons following their command one of them being undead (Ohdaviing and Durnehviir). If TLD became emperor and marched upon the elves with their army and dragons + their shouts they'd easily turn the tide. When there's the second Great war, and s*** hits the fan... All those other provinces are going to be abandoned anyway to protect the Ruby throne. Just like they abandon Hammerfell in their time of need and Morrowind in there's. I think the nords are better off protecting themselves and fighting under the high King (whoever that may be)
