The sound is "Out Of Phase", I guess simply because the polarity on one side has been switched. See www.techwalla.com/articles/what-happens-if-i-reverse-my-speaker-wires for more information on that topic.
Just loaded this mix into an audio workstation and flipped the polarity on the left side. Sounds great now, much bass - as expected. I wonder how Enrico didn't hear and fix this before uploading it...

You need to flip polarity on right or left channel but not both. What you hear is the same as old school speaker wires going in the wrong hole.
