    Man are exactly the same. I have the same thoughts as everyone else in the comments. I have no clue why they made them out of plastic. I also have no clue why they didn't just put disposable filters instead of these internal filters. You can argue something like these are better protected but I really think it is about saving money for Hydro Gear by discouraging people from doing it on their own. If you look on Hydro Gears smaller transaxles they all have disposable filters and so much easier to deal with.

    You could drain the oil out of the drain plug on the bottom front of the unit, 7/16” plug with rubber o ring seal…

    • @JsCrazyCutzLLC
      @JsCrazyCutzLLC  Месяц назад

      @@NBTxCoog I'm not sure exactly what you mean 🤔? The only 7/16 " bolt with an o ring that I'm aware of is at the top of the unit and it's supposed to be a vent hole. It allows oil to go from the resivour into the wheel motors quicker and also allows air to evacuate the system as the oil is being filled. It only seems logical to drain the oil by removing the oil filter 🤷since you have to replace it anyway 😎☝️

    Those massive ZT-4400’s make my little ZT-2800’s look so tiny. Same process to change the oil except I have regular style oil filters. That sucks about the plastic filter caps. Every time you change the oil looks like a good idea just to change the caps as well. Wonder if the ZT-5400 metal caps would fit the 4400 model?

    • @JsCrazyCutzLLC
      @JsCrazyCutzLLC  Год назад

      Yeah, that's the first thing I thought about when we ordered new replacement caps but, unfortunately, Hydro Gear said they don't match up 🤷The treads are way different . Now that I know they are plastic.I shouldn't have anymore problems🤞thanks for commenting 👍

    • @JsCrazyCutzLLC
      @JsCrazyCutzLLC  11 месяцев назад

      @timd5597 the ZT5400 takes 5qts per the ZT4400 takes less somewhere between 4 and 4 1/2. We documented in the video the step by step procedure. After all the steps are followed the oil line in the reservoirs should be at the cold fill line.

    One of my hydro gears will not disengage for the purge process. Is there another way? I dried driving it a little and it doesn’t seem any different than the one I did purge. Will it purge eventually on its own? It seems to run fine.

      @@JsCrazyCutzLLC Sooo, I made a mistake. I've only changed mine twice (once at 5 hours and again at 100hrs), so I couldn't remember, but yes, you do fill them from the expansion tank but remove the air bleed plug from the top of the hydro, then once oil starts coming out of the air bleed port, reinstall the plug and top off the expansion tank to something like 1/4 inch of oil in the bottom of the tank.

No problems yet🤞....🤔we had wheel motor go out on our old stander but that's a common problem with the 3400 series pumps🤷
