    This is such a wonderful conversation. Such a smart set-up. Why aren’t there hundreds of enthusiastic comments? What, the algorithm doesn’t think the subject sensational or topical enough? Margaret Atwood’s prescient Handmaid’s Tail, not relevant enough yet? Wait any longer and it’ll be too obvious to mention!

    What I learned from reading thriller novels was that if the writer compromised on the integrity of the characters and especially that of the protagonist, in order to ramp up the geopardy, the reader will stop reading. Whatever mechanism is used to make you turn the page, you cannot violate the integrity of the core characters.
