Steak & Rice with Joel McHale!!!

In this video, actor, producer and host Joel McHale stops by the kitchen to teach Ryan how to make one of his favorite dad dinners- steak with rice and soy sauce. Ryan learns that you can in fact make steak indoors, they both learn how to use a rice cooker and Hammy the bulldog gets up close and personal with Joel's leg. Then, Ryan's daughters Millie and Everett try Ryan's dad dinner during the Kid Taste Test! Do they like it or think it's super gross? Watch and find out!

RECIPE: Joel's McHale's Steak and Rice
Ingredients:
Steak (we used NY strip steak)
Rub or seasoning (We used Hard Core Carnivore Black Beef Seasoning.)
Canola oil
butter
Rice
soy sauce
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350.
To prepare the steak, pat the steak dry with paper towels and cover with a seasoning rub of your choice or simply salt and pepper. Let steak rest.
Measure 1 cup of rice and rinse with water in a colander. Add to rice cooker with 2 cups water and set to cook.
Heat canola oil in a cast iron skillet (or oven-safe pan) and when pan is hot, add steak. Cook without flipping, around 2 minutes a side. Then insert a meat thermometer into steak and place the skillet in the oven. Cook until around 127 degrees and remove steak. Add butter to the skillet, spoon the butter over the steak. After steak cools and absorbs the butter for a few minutes, remove from pan and set on a cutting board. Let the steak rest.
Fluff the rice in the rice cooker, making sure it doesn't stick to the bottom.
To serve, cut steak into slices and plate with rice topped with soy sauce.
