There's this one comic where ink doesn't drink from one of the vials and when asked about it he says he didn't really need that one that much. And then he's questioned if that would make him basically emotionally incomplete or smth.
I think the blue vial is integrity because he hasn’t been truthful with anyone throughout the whole series, also consider he wasn’t entirely truthful with xgaster when they were talking about his soul and creators giving up, this could mean he didn’t take the blue vial a lot even before the x event
I think the vial XGaster gave ink was an unlimited vial meant to give Fresh every emotion he needed, but because it was XGaster’s emotions that created it, all of the feelings that come from XTale/Gaster are laced with intense pain and suffering which reflects how XGaster truly feels about what he is doing

@@mary-kd4pv And that raises a different question. Where did XGaster get this soul? Its a soul of pain but why does the soul give him the overwrite button? My theory is that the pain from the pain soul is the pain of AU creators who felt their work wasn’t good enough and that pain turned into XGaster. It explains why he has the overwrite button and where he got it.
If you don't know the blue vial means sadness. Jakei made a comic referring to Inks birthday but he accidentally drinks the blue vial which makes him cry and sad you can search it up Although it's not canon cause Comyet didn't show us information on what all the vials contained the exact emotions but since it's Jakei made the animation she simply assumed that the blue vial means sadness due to the reference of her comic
May also stand for regret and guilt (as those emotions requiere to be able to feel sad, in my opinion) hence why he tries not to drink it. It would make him feel awful for everything that happened.
I’ve always seen all the vials as their respective soul traits and then the emotions tied to those traits, which I see as blue being Integrity which matches perfectly with the series because when you think about it up until now Ink has never kept his integrity and been true to himself. Now after his outfit change and mindset change he’s being honest and true about himself and his thoughts signified through his outfit change just like dream’s change.
We know that the vials individually don’t mean specific emotions (besides red. yellow and orange), so it’s possible that (in terms of UnderVerse), the blue vial COULD be interpreted as sadness. But Ink also drank half (or a bit less than half) of all the vials, so it seems like he might not have much time left before he turns emotionless.
Yeah, I'm just wondering what exactly it could be. But I feel like what I said could make a lot of sense. But if it's sadness why is it being pointed out so much? If they are said, it would have been completely empty. So yeah, that's the only explanation I could come up with.
@@Hip_Studios I think the sadness is much more accentuated than we think, well it's a theory I'll specify it, but at the beginning Xtale and 0.6 they say that Ink was not very good, he was sad and he was scared to the point of losing his mind without Dream's help, who probably made him do the whole mess, but then if they were already sad, why would he drink any more? and then even though it's integrity if he drank he would feel pain and sadness and regret after what he did, besides maybe that's where she wanted to be do jakei with the vial of Xgaster, well that's what I have to say, I know it's pretty wobbly as a theory but this story of 0.7 torments my mind

Each of the vials include a spectrum of similar emotions. In 0.4, Ink admits to not wanting to regret what he's doing. I think dark blue is supposed to be feelings like sadness, guilt, etc. and he still doesn't want to feel the guilt of his actions.
It is even interesting that Ink said it. It is implying that even emotionless he can think : "If I had my feelings, this is likely what I would feel". And, seeing him do that made me have a small... "oh shit" realization. Ink is supposed to be the Protector of the Aus' SCRIPT, not the AUs themselves. (it is the root of his argument with Dream and the Star Sanses disbanding). It made me think : "Is Ink default state emotionless because like this, he can do his work, even when he really doesn't want to ?". Like, if a script say that someone he cares about is supposed to go through something horrible, he has to make sure they go through it, he isn't supposed to help them avoid it, even if he wants to. Comyet even showed his reaction to his dad's scripted death. He repeats to himself "It's in the script"... while crying. I see that as Ink saying to himself to "accept it and move on" because he cannot give favor treatement... he has to stay fair when it comes to the script. (it was then showed that Undertop Creator went back on their decision and brought his dad back to life, rewriting (or "overwriting") the story and changing it, but implying that Ink will still have the knowledge that his Dad died in front of him.) It does explain Ink being... distant to most and not really batting a socket to the "Overwrite" button. It is just the typical power of a Creator over their creations for him.
@@skell6134 Yeah. I would find it both interesting and upsetting, if a creator wrote a story where Ink is acting like a jerk, but not because he is one. Because for whatever purpose, (most likely entertainement) the Creators makes him act like this toward others. (also once found a oneshot where he couldn't even talk about it to others, as it was taboo, so everyone thought Ink was being a selfish self-centered person and cut ties with him. Ink ended up creating an item, using Error's strings, with the purpose of destroying his own code, repeating "I quit !" when harmoring the code. The other Sanses came, convinced Ink was going to harm the Multiverse somehow and Core was here too, but the only one there out of compassion)
another theory that i've heard about the blue vial is that its sadness. you know how sadness is a large part of guilt? that could be the reason why Ink didnt drink any of the blue. cause he doesnt want to feel guilty for his actions. thne again it cdould just be for no reason
I think it is more likely. He even mentions he doesn't want to feel regret when he frees XGaster. Not only that, it is interesting to see the vials he immediately drinks are the one that oppose to those emotions he rationally recognise he should feel.
Maybe the vial represents pain. Because when Ink drinks the vial xGaster gave him, he says “What is this feeling? Is this what people call pain?” I theorize that the purple vial (let’s just call it that) is a vial that contains all emotions. And he only says he feels pain because the emotion is new to him. That he doesn’t feel the other emotions. And the reason why Fresh doesn’t corrupt the blue vial is because he doesn’t want Ink to feel pain while he’s being possessed.
I don't think the blue one is pain more so the purple one is pain! Unless I'm reading your comment wrong... But with all of Ink's vials non of them are pain, so it would be interesting to think that the one XGaster gave to Ink would be pain... Plus... Ink most likely asked XGaster to give them "The Funniest thing in the multiverse" And XGaster game him something that make him feel pain... Now that's just scary-
The vials are reflections of their creators, and they reflect on ink when he drinks them. Its been a common theme that XGaster's creations and their feelings are a reflection of him as stated by IX papyrus, Dream and Core. so when XGaster made that vial he based it off the description of how they work given by ink. TL;DR XGaster is so much pain its literally soul crushing which is interesting to me. Ink cant drink the blue vial because its sadness and he literally lost the one thing he wanted to protect in 0.4 so that grief would drive him to self game exit himself at worst
For the vial given by XGaster, it could make sense. Comyet even had stated in the past she thinks Ink cannot feel pain. In the context said, it seems to imply physical pain, as they talk about how, Ink, being a skeleton, doesn't have skin or nerves, the main source of human being able to feel and process pain, and that his lack of soul made the problem worse (likely because for skeleton monster, you can argue their soul is one of the only organ they have, so is obviously in charge of feeling and processing pain.) But the lack of soul for Ink, strip him from it. Which, make him unable to understand when a person is in pain. But, what isn't as clear and is up to each person interpretation is this : "Can Ink process emotional pain, after the loss of his soul ?" I insist, process. We see a small work showing Ink's reaction if his (adoptive) dad (Undertop Gaster) died because of the script of his AU, and Ink was shown crying and repeating "it's is in the script" which was used to tell 2 things : 1, Ink will not oppose a script, no matter what. His duty is to make sure it is being followed through. 2, he can care and love others, unlike what some people give him credit for.
We need more discussion videos like this. For a show this popular and good I hardly see people make actual theories and point out importnat story details which is weird.

@@Hip_Studios yesssss! If you need a topic I'd suggest the morality/motivation of the different characters. The concept of a hero/villian in Underverse is pretty ambiguous, everyone is acting out of mostly different reasons. Two characters that can be considered "evil" like XGaster and Nightmare have *very* different goals they do and push the story in different ways.
The way Ink did not drink the vials when he was about to betray Sans (but specifically Cross) because, as he stated, "I don't want to regret it now", showing a memory of him and Cross. He knows Cross would react negatively or feel betrayed by what he's about to do, trusting XGaster more than him. By that, I feel like him betraying Cross would affect him emotionally.
I'm very late but I want to add that in the lately episode when he meets with Cross again and they talk about them getting too ahead of themselves (just before their fight with Fatal Error), Ink FEELS regret in a certain way or at least has a bit of negative emotions at the moment despite not drinking the blue vial, which makes me think that Ink can feel emotions without his vials, but they are very muted so they feel like they aren't there. That, or It's a way to communicate the change of his motivations and ways of thinking, before he thought about everything like a kind of game which he could reset when he feels bored again and start it all over, now he understands that there are consequences of his actions and that he needs to move on. We noticed that for him feeling emotions is something he wants, because that's what he talks about when mentioning X-Gaster, that with his overwrite he would be able to feel again as if he had a soul, or close to it. It makes me think Ink feels a little resentful because he's not being able to experiences what he always has wanted, Core and Fresh remind him that while he isn't experiencing it as much as he wants, he still is experiencing things and emotions.
This is an interesting theory... Though I'm pretty sure Jakei admitted that the blue vial would make Ink feel sad or "blue". Unless she was trying to confuse us even more lol.
I see it as Ink maybe not having any rechange vials anymore. (I mean, it was the perfect opportunity to replace the empty ones with filled one if he had any.) So, Ink is on his last stand. He barely doesn't have feelings or magic anymore... If so, there may be a moment when he drink the blue one, because he is short on magic... or, if he opposes XGaster, he may takes the vial away from Ink to stop him from refilling his magic. If someone get that vial back for him so he can uses magic to help again, I hope it would either be Cross or Chara. With Cross, I think we could see it as a sign of Cross still seeing Ink as a friend (but I think the fact he grabbed his hand and ran out of Error's attack with him in the fight is proof enough of it. He may be a bit upset at Ink, but he still cares for him) With Chara, it would be interesting. Chara had been fighting Ink to take one of his vials away from him, and in the end, they end up fighting to get his vial back for him. The very vial that may make Ink capable of sadness, regret and guilt. (and as a result, in a way, compassion. And when you think of it... Chara and Ink lived something pretty similar. Their creator grew more and more frustrated and unsatisfied with their Creations, recreatng them time and time again.)
My headcanon for why blue vial is full: Yes, you mentioned honesty which is valid in my opinion. I think reason why that vial is full is because of Fresh. Fresh took control of ink because other vials were empty so if blue vial is full then fresh cant fully take over ink. Also since multiverse is destroyed ink would need a backup emotion source until enough creator starts pumping emotions to ink.
True. We on't know if Ink has some back up vial or if it was his last. ... I hope it isn't his last, because if it is, Ink may end up emotionless before any new AUs are created. But, we have no idea how long it has been between the truce (and so, Ink not receiving new vials) and Underverse...
Based on the evidence, I think that Ink doesn't like to feel sadness and tends to avoid that particular vial. This, unfortunately, appears to have consequences on Ink's mentality, placing him in an everlasting state of denial and anxiety. However, now that his actions have caused the possibly permanent annihilation of the undertale multiverse, he has started to feel the effects of his pent up "sadness" and become more defensive of himself. I believe at the end of this series, Ink will take the blue vial and finally break down the dam within his mind holding all his regrets.
All of XGaster's creations have a lot of negative emotions in them, we see Nightmare talking about this in 0.6, so maybe even if XGaster meant to make a vial of all emotions it was tainted because XGaster puts pain and frustration into his work. But that's just a theory a film-
The purple vial is x gaster’s creations. Ink states that his vials are artists creations and they fuel him with emotions. X gaster’s creates his AU with pain and he himself only feels pain. The purple vial is basically what x gaster’s creations are made of
Which is why Ink is wondering why XGaster never told him. Ink is meant to help and assit the Creators and usually, those Creators are kinda out of reach... but even the one that was in a way, right by his side, he didn't see his growing pain and frustration)
Well honestly I just assume he doesn't wanna face the guilt and regret he'll feel for his actions if he shlurps that blue stuff up. I feel like he will eventually tho.
Maybe he will only drink it either because he needs magic (he gets his magic from the vials he has drunk) or when giving apology for his actions (meaning they would be incere too, sine he gives them with the vial corresponding to it)

Thanks, I'd managed to keep my mind away from that detail for a while but now I can't stop thinking about Ink and his vials and specially the one xGaster gave him. It's so interesting to think about, and even more fun when you realize we're hunting for details in Jakei's work the same way the community hunts for them in the original Undertale.
I don't know if anyone noticed this but when fresh gives the blue vial to Ink and he is about to drink it he is distracted by fresh and drops the vial right before they become freshink so he never got to drink the vial that's most likely the reason the vial stays full the entire time even after they become freshink

I know this has nothing to do with the video but I think I know how underverse will end , in one of her videos where Jakei and her friend saku answered some questions about the series , jakei commented that the end of underverse would be really funny and would make us laugh , I didn’t take it too seriously at first but then I started to think about it and how could that actually happen , then with the 2nd season partially here ( 0.5 , 0.6 and 0.7 p.1 ) I think I know what she meant , apparently , Xgaster’s obsession with creating the perfect au and his god complex is making him try to turn the undertale universe ( in this case a glitched timeline , if u see owners you know what I mean ) into his own universe , but the thing is , undertale already has a god / owner which is Toby , underverse indirectly has stated that the creators of the many au’s out there also exist , for example , ink says that the vials he drinks to get emotions comes from the emotions that the creators feel when making that au , so by logic , Toby is also in there , but he also inserted himself in his own game , he is the annoying dog , in the game the annoying dog’s secret room literally shows a computer where he was programming the game , so yeah , toby is in the game there for in the series , the game has also joked about how toby is the true god of the game ( since he literally created it ) , and when we think about it , he is also the god of the multiverse, because it was thanks to undertale that all the other aus/ character variants exist , so I think what will happen is that the annoying dog will show up at one point and will probably wreck Xgaster , which will basically leave him super terrified and etc.
To add to it, one of the Alternative timeline of Undertale, called Undertop has a Gaster who got a power slightly similar to the Overwrite. He manages to rewrite his world and modify it to save it from a genocide run. And this Gaster knows that the annoying dog is the god of their world and is afraid of him. (fun fact : Said Gaster is Ink's adoptive dad and is seen in the Omega Timeline in epiode 0.6, with his husband). I can see the Characters preparing for an epic battle, and trying them damn hardest, then the annoying dog woke upfrom some nap it was doing, see the shit show and comes down to fix everything and the only person, the only one who may be like "it i totally normal" is Ink. (I mean, none of the Undertale characters know the annoying dog is their god... and I am not sure that XGaster knows about it either... Unlike another wiser Gaster who is satisfied with being a ringleader in a circus and living peacefully with his sons, his dragon husband and his pop-up gremlin adoptive son)
while watching 0.7 i also noticed how the blue vial stayed full the entire time but never actually cared until now and honestly i agree, i think the blue vial means "integrity"

that's a really interesting bunch of theorizing. here are some of my opinions to add! if red, usually standard for anger or love, is anger, and yellow and orange are both positive feelings, it's implied blue would also be a standardly-represented color:emotion, like sadness, dismay, or regret. integrity is more of a personality trait rather than a feeling, after all, and anger isn't the same as determination (even if they are related), just as justice(?) and bravery aren't 1:1 stand-ins for vague positivity. so, I doubt integrity is the exact thing ink gets from blue, but a related emotion could be guilt or regret. also, I noticed error's scarf is almost the exact same shade as ink's vial. this could be color symbolism, since they're rivals and ink might be "refusing to drink from what error carries with him," implying error might heavily possess or grow to have this mysterious blue emotion, or it might just be sticking to the character designs. I read in a piece of fanfiction that ink uses his vials to feel, like a painter would use them to paint. he can mix them and use them to feel the entire spectrum of colors in his emotional 'pallette.' if one is missing, his other vials fill in the gaps, but painting a blue tree starts to look strange in the absence of green. drinking only a little of a vial constricts its usage in the "painting." that interpretation is only relevant because ink doesn't have enough vials to represent the full spectrum of emotions. there's either overlap/mixing of colors, or for *underverse,* it's likely each vial represents a vast variety of on-theme feelings rather than a single hue. this would mean that by abstaining from drinking his blues, he's gouged out an entire slice of his 'color wheel of feels,' so the difference should be stark. I'd have even gone back and jotted down which emotions ink seems to exhibit throughout underverse to determine which he doesn't if not for that he is usually a good mimic of what he lacks in front of others. all that considered, blue seems to be the color for some shade of [negative] emotion(s) that had been troubling ink enough for him to remember (he's notorious for forgetting, after all) not to touch it even a *little.* my theory is that it was interfering with his and gaster's game, and the things he felt were very invasive to his desires. [oh, and as a no-good shipper, my heart is nagging me to mention that if red isn't love and is instead anger (which, it could be both, if it's passion? doubtful.) some other vial should probably possess love-y feelings. like... love for the people he harmed. blue could be related to love or its ramifications, though I believe I vaguely recall ink being unable to feel love itself ink the first place.] I hope my thoughts were helpful! Many things. 1. I agree. The Human Soul in Undertale aren't emotions, they are personnality traits. So, sure, maybe Ink can feel those through drinking the vials, but like pointed out, some of those he drunk were : Yellow, Orange and Green. We know that Yellow and Orange are some kind of positive feelings, like joy, happiness, excitment. But the trait are Justice and Bravery. Green is Kindness, and while never stated in canon, we may even know what the corresponding feeling is by deduction. (In Ink's redesign, it is said he wears Yellow and Green because they are the two first feelings he ever felt. So, he wanna pay hommage to it. What are the two first emotions he felt in his backstory. We were told that "suddenly, he felt happy", so Yellow here. But when you go with the list of emotions given before... you get disgust. so, Green may have a high chance of standing for disgust) That aside... I am not sure if anyone feels like saying Ink is particulary Just or Kind in Underverse. (Brave, I guess you can make an argument, maybe, but it will get hard for those two) 2. We know Jakei tries to follow the canon as well as possible. So, Ink may have been saving the Indigo vial because of the fact Comyet stated Ink doesn't just get feelings from the vials. He also get his magic from it. (so, when "dry" to quote Fresh, Ink cannot use magic. Of course he would not like someone taking them). After all, it is 0.7. We can guess there are at least 3 other episode, just to get to 1. And we don't know if it would be the end there. Maybe, maybe not. If the vials he carried were Ink's last vials... he clearly better keep one safe. (plus, we know strong emotion makes him puke, and it causes him t waste part of the magic and emotion he can feel. And so, maybe drinking this vial would make him overwhelmed by an emotion and he cannot allow it right now) 3. Ink implies when emotionless that if he had feeling he would regret freeing XGaster. Regret comes from being able to feel things such as guilt or sadness. (the emotions most often assossiated to the dark blue/Indigo vial, as it opposes the Yellow vial and its happiness). Ink may still be ignoring that vial, for the same reason. He has many things to be sad about right now. He may have lost his friendship with Cross (he has no idea, neither do we, if Cross still want to be his friend now), he lost his purpose, because the Multiverse was destroyed by Error (and also we abandonned him, though this one isn't new), one of his friends is now dead (Ink may even have been awkward when they got to Underswap because he just realized it was the timeline of the Blue he called a friend, not just another random timeline of Underswap... maybe also because he doesn't know what Blue may or may not know about the group disbanding) And for the shipper bit : Ink in canon is aromantic and asexual, but he can feel other forms of love. He genuinely love his parents. (I suspect he is the one who had them moving in the Omega Timeline to make sure they are safe), he can feel friendship (though in canon, Ink isn't stated to have friends, since he isn't supposed to interact with others) (example of strong friendship he formed are : Gin, from Hotarubitale (one of those that walk on the line of Ink maybe even having a crush on him) ; Cross, since Ink clearly cares for him ; Dream, though they had an argument, I love to think one day, they will clear the miscommunication that caused it ; Blue) But Comyet is fine with us shipping Ink, as long as we understand, it will never be canon.

The red soul's trait IS determination) And if the vial, then it was said by Ink's creator (even in this video, actually) that Red stands for anger, you are right, but I think what they meant is that it would be logical to think that if the blue vial gives Ink Integrety (despite the fact it isn't an emotion) it would meant the vials give actually two things : An emotion and a trait. The trait is the one of the human soul linked to the color and the emotions is the tricky one, as we have no idea for most of the 7 vials. (we only know for 2/3. Some gives another emotion to orange, because it is too close to yellow)

also it was confirmed in Xtale that the vial that Xgaster gives to ink is the overwriting ability of his soul and his loss of it was to make Xchara and cross make a move against him starting the actual X-event
What do you think error’s “purpose” will be now ,since his job is now down because the multiverse was kind of erased. Will he get more attention or just be the same baby as he is now.
I think he still isnt fully done. Error also want to destroy the Omega Timeline (like, in his canon, he doesn't even know Ink, but he knows Core and tries to find the Omega Timeline as a result) He also will likely tries to kill Nightmare, Killer, Dream and Ink (and of course, X-Tale) Since those "anomalies" are also here. But, yeah, he is mainly done with his self given purpose.
@@orianefaton1885 I don’t think that Error would try to ever kill Dream or Nightmare since: 1. If one of them dies then positivity / negative feelings get destroyed (I think?) And 2. Dream and Nightmare are not technically Undertale AUs in canon so they might possibly not be considered anomalies by Error.
The colors could mean their corresponding meaning as colors on the color wheel. *Red:* anger. *Yellow:* joy/wisdom/euphoria. *Green:* armony. *Cyan:* calm. *Purple/magenta:* energy/beauty/optimism or creativity *Orange:* vitality/euphoria *Blue:* *SADNESS* Or also can be "freedom/loyalty/truth", things he lacks technically. Also attaching them to the color wheel would also make sense taking on count ink is some kind of "artist"
I like this, but some of the emotion we know Ink can feel I see missing is fear. (along with it variant like : Nervouness, stress, anxiety...) which, I think is what purple may even be standing for, since his eye looked purple to me, when he saw the emptiness of the Doodlesphere.
I dunno. I think Ink is among those that may have the highest chance of reognizing that sure, negative feelings are unpleasant to feel, but necessary. I think he would still drink them too.

Well, if we look back and think them as the soul colors, blue would be integrity, which seems to be something ink doesn't have right now, and as im typing this i see someone already said this!
But it would mean Yellow should be Justice, Orange Bravey, Green Kindness, Red Determination, Purple (the vial he had, not the one he tried to give Fresh) Perseverence and Cyan Patience. How to say... I don't think it fits.
i just assumed blue was guilt? since he doesnt *need* guilt, and never expresses any during the episode for his previous actions of, yk, instigating the X-event / X-Gaster. that to me just reads off as a lack of guilt / remorse so i assumed thats what blue was :0
I believe it didn’t change as Ink didn’t drink it, causing it to not turn purple even as FreshInk. The real question is indeed the one JR Hiphip looked into: WHY didn’t he drink it as desperately as all the others? As for why XGaster’s vial hurt Ink, I believe it’s revealing just how Gaster makes his creations. Whilst the X-event, (Cross’ little rampage, for the few that don’t know,) doesn’t create more: it steals code from other universes, cramming it into one. Gaster, as we know, no longer creates as he used to. At least, his mind’s in a different place now. It’s not all for Chara and Frisk now, it’s also to feed his extreme perfectionism. With his living creations changing, would that include his objects too? “ is this what his creation are made of?” Inks aid after drinking Gaster’s vial, showing maybe… Gaster really did create them out of hate, or suffering, Was that just a side effect of his creations, or, a completely different train of thought: Maybe he was trying to have more control over Fresh or Ink as he now does with Asriel, Papyrus, and the rest of Xtale? Well there’s a couple of options for Geno. Remember when Killer explained why he knows about the X-Event and Xchara in 0.4,he said it was bc he’s a slight variation of Sans so he knows what he’s gone through,how he feels and what he’s thinking. Geno is also a slight variation of Sans so he would be aware of the destruction of the multiverse,the X-Event,Xgaster’s weakness(as Killer said in 0.6) and the overwrite button. Since Cross is still a vessel to Xgaster,Xgaster would see Geno and the “new AU”. This would stun him because all AUs have been destroyed thanks to Error so there should be no universes left. However there’s AfterTale an alternate timeline rather then a universe to UnderTale. Xgaster could try invade AfterTale realize how imperfect it is and then try to overwrite Geno making a Fatal_Error. Or Geno could try to go to the main universe to help Sans but gets overwritten.
I mean Ink Sans is soulless so him lying really doesn't affect him since he can't care about those kinds of things. He can only pretend he has feelings and a soulless being sometimes can't tell the difference between right and wrong unless they are told what's right or wrong. Good theory btw.

@@Hip_Studios I think it's because if Ink Sans drunk the blue vial he would accidentally say the truth. If the blue vial is like integrity then he would have the feeling to tell the truth and Ink Sans doesn't want to have the feeling to tell the truth because it would mess up the game of the X Event. Just like during the X Event in Season 1 he doesn't tell the truth on what's really going on and he doesn't tell the truth on how he knows Cross or X Chara when Classic Sans is questioning Ink.

What if they're saving that one last vial for another thing in future that they didn't show yet?, something like giving the vial to someone that needs to see some kind of reality or make him/them snap up
If you pay attention to ink's eyes you can see that colors of ink's eyes fades away whenever he creates and attack out of ink. So this means, if ink uses too much attack he will left with no emotions

there's something you didnt say in the vid. when ink transforms, all his vials is black expect the middle one ( the blue vial ). maybe blue is very very important for ink, thats why he dosen't drink it often. or it is just a vial for fighting, which he drinks to get something like more defense or attack.
I mean it'd make sense. Ink has constantly been lying to the cast prior to X!Gaster revealing his "games." During the end of 0.4 where Ink says: "They are not my friends," Chara steps in to say: "He pretended to be a hero," which is essentially lying. If the blue vial really is integrity, then reason it's still full after all this time could be because of this quote in 0.4: "Having feelings will only affect his plans." This is just my theory though.
I don't see it like this in my case. But it has more to do that I see a difference between "lying" and "not telling the truth", lying is the actions of willingly saying something that isn't true. But not telling the truth is just that. You dont tell. It may as well be that you don't lie either. Something that makes me laugh is "Ink pretending to be a hero" according to Chara. He does not actually. Ink never says he is a good person, he never says he is a hero. Because he isn't, and he knows it. He helps Sans, because half of his soul was stolen. But he just helps fix the timeline, which is his work. (and he also wanna reason with Cross because he knows how dangerous Nightmare is and he cares for Cross). Red gets dragged for the same reason. Because he is upset at Cross and wanna go after him and because the Snowdin of his world was stolen, once again, something that Ink, because of his work, has to fix (also, likely coming in case Red is upset enough to try to harm Cross more than necessary) Blue gets dragged there because his world is on the verge of collapsing and he is kinda forced. Also, Ink says the part about not being friends while talking to Blue. Which, has many alternate timelines of his world. Many where he dies actually. Ink has every reason not to want to grow lose to someone with many timelines. Because if he cares for one Blue, he will likely start to wish that all version of Blue lives happy, safe and sound... which he unfortunately cannot let happen as the Protector of the Script of the AUs. Yeah, there is a key word of his title that is often forgotten, or in the case of Ink, he likely willingly keeps it out, because it is more trouble that it is worth to tell people there is something called a script, so some kind of fate. And he has feeling until his eyes go white. During all the time he has his feelings, we see him caring for Cross. And it make sense he still keeps the soul of XGaster away from Chara. If you were in Ink''s shoes, you wouldnt let Chara have it either. They are harming other people and destroying their happy life, solely to create their own world... when they could have gone in the Omega Timeline and just start a new life instead. Move on, like all those that live there.
Honestly i theorise that the next part will be geno sacrificing himself to save cross from error sans just like outertale sans tried to save undertale sans and ending up stuck on the strings he tries to escape to the save screen but error follows and finishes him but just like the comic is he became fatal error as he cannot die on save screen making him glitch to that point.

If this is all true, where the blue vial is *Integrity* and the purple one is *pain* , My theory is that Ink has seen no reason to be truthful, since he didn't know the 'pain' It caused people to know they were being lied to. And it also makes sense why he fully supports the X-Event, despite the fact it has been doing more harm than good; he didn't understand what cross and the result of Xgasters creations have been feeling, (sorry, I am not very good at wording this) which is more clearly stated and more a thing about the purple vial than the blue one..

His job is about making sure that what the creator of the AU wrote will happen the way it is supposed to. (so he has to make sure there isn't an outside force interfering) You are the first person I met who even think he is the arbiter. Usually, he is called the "Protector of AUs", which is the shorter version of his title that he uses (partly to hide the existence of a script/fate, if I am to guess) Also, Ink's creator herself calls him a gremlin and says he is chaotic neutral. I don't think he has a notion of right and wrong or good and evil (or if so, underdevelopped one). As an example, Ink is neutral toward Dream and Nightmare fight. He is likely along Dream's side because Dream is the last golden apple, so his death means the Multiverse would not work properly (and because Nightmare's goop is a shield protecting him against anything so he doesn't need protection) but he only favors Dream because of it. If Ink was doing his job in Dreamswap for example, he would be protecting Nightmare instead, for the same reason he protects Dream in the normal one. But in the same regard, if something bad enough was to threathen to kill Nightmare (the dreamtale goopy and evil one) Ink would have to protect him too, because the Multiverse also need negativity.

I call him an arbiter because he judges each character. Are you doing what you should be? He decides what balance is, and he decides how to proceed. Yes, he protects balance. But he's never overkill. He always fights at least semi-fairly. Remember when his vials were all gone? No emotion. so if Integrity is the blue one, he takes it upon himself to be a fair judge of characters. And he doesn't have that right now. Hence why he didn't try to kill Cross in episode 0.1. He had no reason to prioritize many over one, and that lead to the destruction of both Underfell and Underswap, as well as in part Outertale.

It is canon he would try to talk his opponent out of the fight, so we can even expect he is never actually giving his all (also, he sees Cross as a friend, increasing the chance of him trying to talk rather than fight). Two, in Ink's canon, the balance doesn't exist. It is something invented by the fandom. (seriously, where does that balane idea even comes from ? As far as I know, that blue vial feels like the Integrity trait- What makes sense he doesn’t drink it, because he’s not been totally honest to his creations- Like X!Gaster, who haven’t told the whole thing to Ink
I personally think she just wanted one vial to be left, so Ink wouldn't be completely emotionless. And the blue one is in the middle, so it just looks nicer. I don't think the color specifically plays that much of a role in the story.
Quite the opposite! The more filled the vials are the less emotions he has! If you look in Underverse 0.4 where emotionless ink is revealed! All of his vials are filled to the brim! But it could maybe be the case where it doesn't mean anything, but no harm in theorizing! Thanks for the comment!
@@Hip_Studios I meant that he wants one as a backup in case he isn't able to fill up the rest of them (cause I'm pretty sure they are filled when something is created in the AUs) He becomes emotionless when he doesn't take the vials (which is why the vials were all full in 0.4), but he doesn't want that happening again so he keeps a vial full. And since Error destroyed all the AUs, he's worried that they won't be able to be filled again (and he can't rely on XGaster now to help him, which was his plan before), so he keeps a full one with him at all times. So instead of a fight that hinges on the blue vial's effects, I think it's gonna hinge on the fact that it's his last vial. But ye, it's all up to interpretation. Your's is also a cool theory (There's also the fact that Fresh says, "You don't wanna dry yourself out" which could be another reason he keeps it around)
@@-freshsans True. Comyet even said Ink's magical power comes from his vials. Just like his ability to feel. It means when Ink is "dry" to quote Fresh, he is emotionless and doesn't have magic anymore. If someone took possession of him in that state, he would still have his physical capacities but not the magical ones. Also, if the dark blue (Indigo) vial was Integrety, there is another issue. It would mean the other vials should theorically stand for the trait of the human soul. So, the red vial, which we know to be in charge of rage, anger and the variation of, and is active during fight (Comyet said when Ink fights, one of his eye is always a red target) should hold determination. The Orange should hold Bravery... and so, it means Yellow, which is holding joy/happiness should hold Justice... It is one of the most drinked vial... but I dunno if I would call Ink a just person. (he is supposed to be a chaotic neutral person). Also, when Ink sees the emptiness, he is scarred, because he is afraid of empty space. (maybe PTSD, despite him not consciously remembering his past) and the eyes seems purple to me. So, Purple may have a link to Fear, which... in Undertale, Purple is Perseverance. (it is even pointed out at some point in X-Tale in case you forgot, when XGaster talk about his soul attribute). You can argue he is showing perseverance, since he push through his fear, but he still is afraid too. Also, like I said. The soul in Undertale show "personnality trait" while Ink's vials gives him "emotions". Those are technically different things. We all have feeling. We all can feel joy, sadness, pain, anger, fear. No matter our soul trait. The difference is how we deal with it, how we make use of the emotions, how they will fuel us. The difference isn't our feeling but our action. So, while maybe with Jakei, the vials also makes Ink feels the trait linked to the color (doesn't seem impossible) it is still not certain either.

@@NotWetToast On comyet's tumblr it's stated that the vials are adapted just for Ink, so I suppose the unlimited vial was the only exception, as it was created by XGaster specifically for Fresh. If it tastes like paint (they're also called "paint bottles" by comyet) and are adapted for Ink himself, I doubt those would work for someone else.

I think the vial XGaster gave ink was an unlimited vial meant to give Fresh every emotion he needed, but because it was XGaster’s emotions that created it, all of the feelings that come from XTale/Gaster are laced with intense pain and suffering which reflects how XGaster truly feels about what he is doing

My theory is that the pain from the pain soul is the pain of AU creators who felt their work wasn’t good enough and that pain turned into XGaster. If you don't know the blue vial means sadness. Jakei made a comic referring to Inks birthday but he accidentally drinks the blue vial which makes him cry and sad you can search it up
Although it's not canon cause Comyet didn't show us information on what all the vials contained the exact emotions but since it's Jakei made the animation she simply assumed that the blue vial means sadness due to the reference of her comic
May also stand for regret and guilt (as those emotions requiere to be able to feel sad, in my opinion) hence why he tries not to drink it. It would make him feel awful for everything that happened.

I’ve always seen all the vials as their respective soul traits and then the emotions tied to those traits, which I see as blue being Integrity which matches perfectly with the series because when you think about it up until now Ink has never kept his integrity and been true to himself. Now after his outfit change and mindset change he’s being honest and true about himself and his thoughts signified through his outfit change just like dream’s change.

We know that the vials individually don’t mean specific emotions (besides red. yellow and orange), so it’s possible that (in terms of UnderVerse), the blue vial COULD be interpreted as sadness. But Ink also drank half (or a bit less than half) of all the vials, so it seems like he might not have much time left before he turns emotionless.
Yeah, I'm just wondering what exactly it could be. But I feel like what I said could make a lot of sense. But if it's sadness why is it being pointed out so much? If they are said, it would have been completely empty. So yeah, that's the only explanation I could come up with.

@@Hip_Studios I think the sadness is much more accentuated than we think, well it's a theory I'll specify it, but at the beginning Xtale and 0.6 they say that Ink was not very good, he was sad and he was scared to the point of losing his mind without Dream's help, who probably made him do the whole mess, but then if they were already sad, why would he drink any more? and then even though it's integrity if he drank he would feel pain and sadness and regret after what he did, besides maybe that's where she wanted to be do jakei with the vial of Xgaster, well that's what I have to say, I know it's pretty wobbly as a theory but this story of 0.7 torments my mind

Each of the vials include a spectrum of similar emotions. In 0.4, Ink admits to not wanting to regret what he's doing. I think dark blue is supposed to be feelings like sadness, guilt, etc. and he still doesn't want to feel the guilt of his actions.
It is even interesting that Ink said it. It is implying that even emotionless he can think : "If I had my feelings, this is likely what I would feel". And, seeing him do that made me have a small... "oh shit" realization.
Ink is supposed to be the Protector of the Aus' SCRIPT, not the AUs themselves. (it is the root of his argument with Dream and the Star Sanses disbanding). It made me think : "Is Ink default state emotionless because like this, he can do his work, even when he really doesn't want to ?". Like, if a script say that someone he cares about is supposed to go through something horrible, he has to make sure they go through it, he isn't supposed to help them avoid it, even if he wants to.
Comyet even showed his reaction to his dad's scripted death. He repeats to himself "It's in the script"... while crying. I see that as Ink saying to himself to "accept it and move on" because he cannot give favor treatement... he has to stay fair when it comes to the script. (it was then showed that Undertop Creator went back on their decision and brought his dad back to life, rewriting (or "overwriting") the story and changing it, but implying that Ink will still have the knowledge that his Dad died in front of him.)
It does explain Ink being... distant to most and not really batting a socket to the "Overwrite" button. It is just the typical power of a Creator over their creations for him.

@@skell6134 Yeah. I would find it both interesting and upsetting, if a creator wrote a story where Ink is acting like a jerk, but not because he is one. Because for whatever purpose, (most likely entertainement) the Creators makes him act like this toward others.
(also once found a oneshot where he couldn't even talk about it to others, as it was taboo, so everyone thought Ink was being a selfish self-centered person and cut ties with him. Ink ended up creating an item, using Error's strings, with the purpose of destroying his own code, repeating "I quit !" when harmoring the code. The other Sanses came, convinced Ink was going to harm the Multiverse somehow and Core was here too, but the only one there out of compassion)
another theory that i've heard about the blue vial is that its sadness. you know how sadness is a large part of guilt? that could be the reason why Ink didnt drink any of the blue. cause he doesnt want to feel guilty for his actions. thne again it cdould just be for no reason
I think it is more likely. He even mentions he doesn't want to feel regret when he frees XGaster. Not only that, it is interesting to see the vials he immediately drinks are the one that oppose to those emotions he rationally recognise he should feel.
Maybe the vial represents pain. Because when Ink drinks the vial xGaster gave him, he says “What is this feeling? Is this what people call pain?” I theorize that the purple vial (let’s just call it that) is a vial that contains all emotions. And he only says he feels pain because the emotion is new to him. That he doesn’t feel the other emotions. And the reason why Fresh doesn’t corrupt the blue vial is because he doesn’t want Ink to feel pain while he’s being possessed.

But with all of Ink's vials non of them are pain, so it would be interesting to think that the one XGaster gave to Ink would be pain... Plus... The vials are reflections of their creators, and they reflect on ink when he drinks them. Its been a common theme that XGaster's creations and their feelings are a reflection of him as stated by IX papyrus, Dream and Core. so when XGaster made that vial he based it off the description of how they work given by ink. TL;DR XGaster is so much pain its literally soul crushing which is interesting to me. Ink cant drink the blue vial because its sadness and he literally lost the one thing he wanted to protect in 0.4 so that grief would drive him to self game exit himself at worst
For the vial given by XGaster, it could make sense. Comyet even had stated in the past she thinks Ink cannot feel pain. In the context said, it seems to imply physical pain, as they talk about how, Ink, being a skeleton, doesn't have skin or nerves, the main source of human being able to feel and process pain, and that his lack of soul made the problem worse (likely because for skeleton monster, you can argue their soul is one of the only organ they have, so is obviously in charge of feeling and processing pain.) But the lack of soul for Ink, strip him from it. Which, make him unable to understand when a person is in pain.
But, what isn't as clear and is up to each person interpretation is this : "Can Ink process emotional pain, after the loss of his soul ?" I insist, process. We see a small work showing Ink's reaction if his (adoptive) dad (Undertop Gaster) died because of the script of his AU, and Ink was shown crying and repeating "it's is in the script" which was used to tell 2 things : 1, Ink will not oppose a script, no matter what. His duty is to make sure it is being followed through. 2, he can care and love others, unlike what some people give him credit for.

The concept of a hero/villian in Underverse is pretty ambiguous, everyone is acting out of mostly different reasons. Two characters that can be considered "evil" like XGaster and Nightmare have *very* different goals they do and push the story in different ways.
The way Ink did not drink the vials when he was about to betray Sans (but specifically Cross) because, as he stated, "I don't want to regret it now", showing a memory of him and Cross. He knows Cross would react negatively or feel betrayed by what he's about to do, trusting XGaster more than him. By that, I feel like him betraying Cross would affect him emotionally.
I'm very late but I want to add that in the lately episode when he meets with Cross again and they talk about them getting too ahead of themselves (just before their fight with Fatal Error), Ink FEELS regret in a certain way or at least has a bit of negative emotions at the moment despite not drinking the blue vial, which makes me think that Ink can feel emotions without his vials, but they are very muted so they feel like they aren't there.
That, or It's a way to communicate the change of his motivations and ways of thinking, before he thought about everything like a kind of game which he could reset when he feels bored again and start it all over, now he understands that there are consequences of his actions and that he needs to move on.
We noticed that for him feeling emotions is something he wants, because that's what he talks about when mentioning X-Gaster, that with his overwrite he would be able to feel again as if he had a soul, or close to it. It makes me think Ink feels a little resentful because he's not being able to experiences what he always has wanted, Core and Fresh remind him that while he isn't experiencing it as much as he wants, he still is experiencing things and emotions.
This is an interesting theory...
Though I'm pretty sure Jakei admitted that the blue vial would make Ink feel sad or "blue".

When Ink's outfit changes all the vials are refilled with black but the blue one still remains there and completely full. Really interesting detail
I see it as Ink maybe not having any rechange vials anymore. (I mean, it was the perfect opportunity to replace the empty ones with filled one if he had any.) So, Ink is on his last stand. He barely doesn't have feelings or magic anymore...
If so, there may be a moment when he drink the blue one, because he is short on magic... or, if he opposes XGaster, he may takes the vial away from Ink to stop him from refilling his magic. If someone get that vial back for him so he can uses magic to help again, I hope it would either be Cross or Chara.
With Cross, I think we could see it as a sign of Cross still seeing Ink as a friend (but I think the fact he grabbed his hand and ran out of Error's attack with him in the fight is proof enough of it. He may be a bit upset at Ink, but he still cares for him)
With Chara, it would be interesting. Chara had been fighting Ink to take one of his vials away from him, and in the end, they end up fighting to get his vial back for him. The very vial that may make Ink capable of sadness, regret and guilt. (and as a result, in a way, compassion. And when you think of it... Chara and Ink lived something pretty similar. Their creator grew more and more frustrated and unsatisfied with their Creations, recreatng them time and time again.)
Makes you think about the symbolism of fresh throwing the vial at ink across a large chasm.

My headcanon for why blue vial is full: Yes, you mentioned honesty which is valid in my opinion. I think reason why that vial is full is because of Fresh. Fresh took control of ink because other vials were empty so if blue vial is full then fresh cant fully take over ink. Also since multiverse is destroyed ink would need a backup emotion source until enough creator starts pumping emotions to ink.
True. We on't know if Ink has some back up vial or if it was his last. ... I hope it isn't his last, because if it is, Ink may end up emotionless before any new AUs are created. But, we have no idea how long it has been between the truce (and so, Ink not receiving new vials) and Underverse...
Based on the evidence, I think that Ink doesn't like to feel sadness and tends to avoid that particular vial. This, unfortunately, appears to have consequences on Ink's mentality, placing him in an everlasting state of denial and anxiety. However, now that his actions have caused the possibly permanent annihilation of the undertale multiverse, he has started to feel the effects of his pent up "sadness" and become more defensive of himself. I believe at the end of this series, Ink will take the blue vial and finally break down the dam within his mind holding all his regrets.
All of XGaster's creations have a lot of negative emotions in them, we see Nightmare talking about this in 0.6, so maybe even if XGaster meant to make a vial of all emotions it was tainted because XGaster puts pain and frustration into his work. But that's just a theory a film-

The purple vial is x gaster’s creations. Ink states that his vials are artists creations and they fuel him with emotions. X gaster’s creates his AU with pain and he himself only feels pain. The purple vial is basically what x gaster’s creations are made of
Which is why Ink is wondering why XGaster never told him. Ink is meant to help and assit the Creators and usually, those Creators are kinda out of reach... but even the one that was in a way, right by his side, he didn't see his growing pain and frustration)

Maybe he will only drink it either because he needs magic (he gets his magic from the vials he has drunk) or when giving apology for his actions (meaning they would be incere too, sine he gives them with the vial corresponding to it)

Thanks, I'd managed to keep my mind away from that detail for a while but now I can't stop thinking about Ink and his vials and specially the one xGaster gave him. It's so interesting to think about, and even more fun when you realize we're hunting for details in Jakei's work the same way the community hunts for them in the original Undertale.
I don't know if anyone noticed this but when fresh gives the blue vial to Ink and he is about to drink it he is distracted by fresh and drops the vial right before they become freshink so he never got to drink the vial that's most likely the reason the vial stays full the entire time even after they become freshink

I know this has nothing to do with the video but I think I know how underverse will end , in one of her videos where Jakei and her friend saku answered some questions about the series , jakei commented that the end of underverse would be really funny and would make us laugh , I didn’t take it too seriously at first but then I started to think about it and how could that actually happen , then with the 2nd season partially here ( 0.5 , 0.6 and 0.7 p.1 ) I think I know what she meant , apparently , Xgaster’s obsession with creating the perfect au and his god complex is making him try to turn the undertale universe ( in this case a glitched timeline , if u see owners you know what I mean ) into his own universe , but the thing is , undertale already has a god / owner which is Toby , underverse indirectly has stated that the creators of the many au’s out there also exist , for example , ink says that the vials he drinks to get emotions comes from the emotions that the creators feel when making that au , so by logic , Toby is also in there , but he also inserted himself in his own game , he is the annoying dog , in the game the annoying dog’s secret room literally shows a computer where he was programming the game , so yeah , toby is in the game there for in the series , the game has also joked about how toby is the true god of the game ( since he literally created it ) , and when we think about it , he is also the god of the multiverse, because it was thanks to undertale that all the other aus/ character variants exist , so I think what will happen is that the annoying dog will show up at one point and will probably wreck Xgaster , which will basically leave him super terrified and etc.

To add to it, one of the Alternative timeline of Undertale, called Undertop has a Gaster who got a power slightly similar to the Overwrite. He manages to rewrite his world and modify it to save it from a genocide run. And this Gaster knows that the annoying dog is the god of their world and is afraid of him.
(fun fact : Said Gaster is Ink's adoptive dad and is seen in the Omega Timeline in epiode 0.6, with his husband).
I can see the Characters preparing for an epic battle, and trying them damn hardest, then the annoying dog woke upfrom some nap it was doing, see the shit show and comes down to fix everything and the only person, the only one who may be like "it i totally normal" is Ink. (I mean, none of the Undertale characters know the annoying dog is their god... and I am not sure that XGaster knows about it either... Unlike another wiser Gaster who is satisfied with being a ringleader in a circus and living peacefully with his sons, his dragon husband and his pop-up gremlin adoptive son)

that's a really interesting bunch of theorizing. here are some of my opinions to add!
if red, usually standard for anger or love, is anger, and yellow and orange are both positive feelings, it's implied blue would also be a standardly-represented color:emotion, like sadness, dismay, or regret. integrity is more of a personality trait rather than a feeling, after all, and anger isn't the same as determination (even if they are related), just as justice(?) and bravery aren't 1:1 stand-ins for vague positivity. so, I doubt integrity is the exact thing ink gets from blue, but a related emotion could be guilt or regret.
also, I noticed error's scarf is almost the exact same shade as ink's vial. this could be color symbolism, since they're rivals and ink might be "refusing to drink from what error carries with him," implying error might heavily possess or grow to have this mysterious blue emotion, or it might just be sticking to the character designs.
I read in a piece of fanfiction that ink uses his vials to feel, like a painter would use them to paint. he can mix them and use them to feel the entire spectrum of colors in his emotional 'pallette.' if one is missing, his other vials fill in the gaps, but painting a blue tree starts to look strange in the absence of green. drinking only a little of a vial constricts its usage in the "painting."
that interpretation is only relevant because ink doesn't have enough vials to represent the full spectrum of emotions. there's either overlap/mixing of colors, or for *underverse,* it's likely each vial represents a vast variety of on-theme feelings rather than a single hue. this would mean that by abstaining from drinking his blues, he's gouged out an entire slice of his 'color wheel of feels,' so the difference should be stark. I'd have even gone back and jotted down which emotions ink seems to exhibit throughout underverse to determine which he doesn't if not for that he is usually a good mimic of what he lacks in front of others.
all that considered, blue seems to be the color for some shade of [negative] emotion(s) that had been troubling ink enough for him to remember (he's notorious for forgetting, after all) not to touch it even a *little.* my theory is that it was interfering with his and gaster's game, and the things he felt were very invasive to his desires.
[oh, and as a no-good shipper, my heart is nagging me to mention that if red isn't love and is instead anger (which, it could be both, if it's passion? doubtful.) some other vial should probably possess love-y feelings. like... love for the people he harmed. blue could be related to love or its ramifications, though I believe I vaguely recall ink being unable to feel love itself ink the first place.]
I hope my thoughts were helpful! I doubt any will pull through, but it was fun to theorize.
Many things.
1. I agree. The Human Soul in Undertale aren't emotions, they are personnality traits. So, sure, maybe Ink can feel those through drinking the vials, but like pointed out, some of those he drunk were : Yellow, Orange and Green. We know that Yellow and Orange are some kind of positive feelings, like joy, happiness, excitment. But the trait are Justice and Bravery. Green is Kindness, and while never stated in canon, we may even know what the corresponding feeling is by deduction. (In Ink's redesign, it is said he wears Yellow and Green because they are the two first feelings he ever felt. So, he wanna pay hommage to it. What are the two first emotions he felt in his backstory. We were told that "suddenly, he felt happy", so Yellow here. But when you go with the list of emotions given before... you get disgust. so, Green may have a high chance of standing for disgust)
That aside... I am not sure if anyone feels like saying Ink is particulary Just or Kind in Underverse. (Brave, I guess you can make an argument, maybe, but it will get hard for those two)
2. We know Jakei tries to follow the canon as well as possible. So, Ink may have been saving the Indigo vial because of the fact Comyet stated Ink doesn't just get feelings from the vials. He also get his magic from it. (so, when "dry" to quote Fresh, Ink cannot use magic. Of course he would not like someone taking them). After all, it is 0.7. We can guess there are at least 3 other episode, just to get to 1. And we don't know if it would be the end there. Maybe, maybe not. If the vials he carried were Ink's last vials... he clearly better keep one safe. (plus, we know strong emotion makes him puke, and it causes him t waste part of the magic and emotion he can feel. And so, maybe drinking this vial would make him overwhelmed by an emotion and he cannot allow it right now)
3. Ink implies when emotionless that if he had feeling he would regret freeing XGaster. Regret comes from being able to feel things such as guilt or sadness. (the emotions most often assossiated to the dark blue/Indigo vial, as it opposes the Yellow vial and its happiness). Ink may still be ignoring that vial, for the same reason. He has many things to be sad about right now. He may have lost his friendship with Cross (he has no idea, neither do we, if Cross still want to be his friend now), he lost his purpose, because the Multiverse was destroyed by Error (and also we abandonned him, though this one isn't new), one of his friends is now dead (Ink may even have been awkward when they got to Underswap because he just realized it was the timeline of the Blue he called a friend, not just another random timeline of Underswap... maybe also because he doesn't know what Blue may or may not know about the group disbanding)
And for the shipper bit : Ink in canon is aromantic and asexual, but he can feel other forms of love. He genuinely love his parents. (I suspect he is the one who had them moving in the Omega Timeline to make sure they are safe), he can feel friendship (though in canon, Ink isn't stated to have friends, since he isn't supposed to interact with others) (example of strong friendship he formed are : Gin, from Hotarubitale (one of those that walk on the line of Ink maybe even having a crush on him) ; Cross, since Ink clearly cares for him ; Dream, though they had an argument, I love to think one day, they will clear the miscommunication that caused it ; Blue)
But Comyet is fine with us shipping Ink, as long as we understand, it will never be canon.

The red soul's trait IS determination) And if the vial, then it was said by Ink's creator (even in this video, actually) that Red stands for anger, you are right, but I think what they meant is that it would be logical to think that if the blue vial gives Ink Integrety (despite the fact it isn't an emotion) it would meant the vials give actually two things : An emotion and a trait. The trait is the one of the human soul linked to the color and the emotions is the tricky one, as we have no idea for most of the 7 vials. (we only know for 2/3. Some gives another emotion to orange, because it is too close to yellow)

I think he still isnt fully done. Error also want to destroy the Omega Timeline (like, in his canon, he doesn't even know Ink, but he knows Core and tries to find the Omega Timeline as a result)
He also will likely tries to kill Nightmare, Killer, Dream and Ink (and of course, X-Tale) Since those "anomalies" are also here. But, yeah, he is mainly done with his self given purpose.

1. If one of them dies then positivity / negative feelings get destroyed (I think?)
And 2. Dream and Nightmare are not technically Undertale AUs in canon so they might possibly not be considered anomalies by Error.

*Red:* anger.
*Yellow:* joy/wisdom/euphoria.
*Green:* armony.
*Cyan:* calm.
*Purple/magenta:* energy/beauty/optimism or creativity
*Orange:* vitality/euphoria
*Blue:* *SADNESS*
Or also can be "freedom/loyalty/truth", things he lacks technically.
Also attaching them to the color wheel would also make sense taking on count ink is some kind of "artist"
I like this, but some of the emotion we know Ink can feel I see missing is fear. (along with it variant like : Nervouness, stress, anxiety...) which, I think is what purple may even be standing for, since his eye looked purple to me, when he saw the emptiness of the Doodlesphere.

As for why XGaster’s vial hurt Ink, I believe it’s revealing just how Gaster makes his creations. Whilst the X-event, (Cross’ little rampage, for the few that don’t know,) doesn’t create more: it steals code from other universes, cramming it into one. Gaster, as we know, no longer creates as he used to. At least, his mind’s in a different place now. It’s not all for Chara and Frisk now, it’s also to feed his extreme perfectionism. With his living creations changing, would that include his objects too? “ is this what his creation are made of?” Inks aid after drinking Gaster’s vial, showing maybe… Gaster really did create them out of hate, or suffering, Was that just a side effect of his creations, or, a completely different train of thought: Maybe he was trying to have more control over Fresh or Ink as he now does with Asriel, Papyrus, and the rest of Xtale? That last one seems farther off, but still… Wow I didn’t realize how much I liked theorizing until I watched 0.7! Ink says “is this what

Well there’s a couple of options for Geno. Remember when Killer explained why he knows about the X-Event and Xchara in 0.4,he said it was bc he’s a slight variation of Sans so he knows what he’s gone through,how he feels and what he’s thinking. Geno is also a slight variation of Sans so he would be aware of the destruction of the multiverse,the X-Event,Xgaster’s weakness(as Killer said in 0.6) and the overwrite button. Since Cross is still a vessel to Xgaster,Xgaster would see Geno and the “new AU”. This would stun him because all AUs have been destroyed thanks to Error so there should be no universes left. However there’s AfterTale an alternate timeline rather then a universe to UnderTale. Xgaster could try invade AfterTale realize how imperfect it is and then try to overwrite Geno making a Fatal_Error. Or Geno could try to go to the main universe to help Sans but gets overwritten.
I mean Ink Sans is soulless so him lying really doesn't affect him since he can't care about those kinds of things. He can only pretend he has feelings and a soulless being sometimes can't tell the difference between right and wrong unless they are told what's right or wrong. Good theory btw.

@@Hip_Studios I think it's because if Ink Sans drunk the blue vial he would accidentally say the truth. If the blue vial is like integrity then he would have the feeling to tell the truth and Ink Sans doesn't want to have the feeling to tell the truth because it would mess up the game of the X Event. Just like during the X Event in Season 1 he doesn't tell the truth on what's really going on and he doesn't tell the truth on how he knows Cross or X Chara when Classic Sans is questioning Ink.

If you pay attention to ink's eyes you can see that colors of ink's eyes fades away whenever he creates and attack out of ink. So this means, if ink uses too much attack he will left with no emotions

I mean it'd make sense. Ink has constantly been lying to the cast prior to X!Gaster revealing his "games." During the end of 0.4 where Ink says: "They are not my friends," Chara steps in to say: "He pretended to be a hero," which is essentially lying. If the blue vial really is integrity, then reason it's still full after all this time could be because of this quote in 0.4: "Having feelings will only affect his plans."
This is just my theory though.
I don't see it like this in my case. But it has more to do that I see a difference between "lying" and "not telling the truth", lying is the actions of willingly saying something that isn't true. But not telling the truth is just that. You dont tell. It may as well be that you don't lie either.
Something that makes me laugh is "Ink pretending to be a hero" according to Chara. He does not actually. Ink never says he is a good person, he never says he is a hero. Because he isn't, and he knows it. He helps Sans, because half of his soul was stolen. But he just helps fix the timeline, which is his work. (and he also wanna reason with Cross because he knows how dangerous Nightmare is and he cares for Cross).
Red gets dragged for the same reason. Because he is upset at Cross and wanna go after him and because the Snowdin of his world was stolen, once again, something that Ink, because of his work, has to fix (also, likely coming in case Red is upset enough to try to harm Cross more than necessary)
Blue gets dragged there because his world is on the verge of collapsing and he is kinda forced.
Also, Ink says the part about not being friends while talking to Blue. Which, has many alternate timelines of his world. Many where he dies actually. Ink has every reason not to want to grow lose to someone with many timelines. Because if he cares for one Blue, he will likely start to wish that all version of Blue lives happy, safe and sound... which he unfortunately cannot let happen as the Protector of the Script of the AUs. Yeah, there is a key word of his title that is often forgotten, or in the case of Ink, he likely willingly keeps it out, because it is more trouble that it is worth to tell people there is something called a script, so some kind of fate.
And he has feeling until his eyes go white. During all the time he has his feelings, we see him caring for Cross. And it make sense he still keeps the soul of XGaster away from Chara. If you were in Ink''s shoes, you wouldnt let Chara have it either. They are harming other people and destroying their happy life, solely to create their own world... when they could have gone in the Omega Timeline and just start a new life instead. Move on, like all those that live there.
Honestly i theorise that the next part will be geno sacrificing himself to save cross from error sans just like outertale sans tried to save undertale sans and ending up stuck on the strings he tries to escape to the save screen but error follows and finishes him but just like the comic is he became fatal error as he cannot die on save screen making him glitch to that point.

If this is all true, where the blue vial is *Integrity* and the purple one is *pain* , My theory is that Ink has seen no reason to be truthful, since he didn't know the 'pain' It caused people to know they were being lied to. And it also makes sense why he fully supports the X-Event, despite the fact it has been doing more harm than good; he didn't understand what cross and the result of Xgasters creations have been feeling, (sorry, I am not very good at wording this) which is more clearly stated and more a thing about the purple vial than the blue one..

While it makes sense the problem with the is that the red, orange and yellow don’t mean Determination, bravery, and justice. Not to mention there are times where ink has chugged the likes of green or light cyan but he doesn’t get kindness or patience
Makes sense cus if he didn't drink the blue vial at all then it'd be full, which it is. Since he didn't drink it he wouldn't have any moral integrity and he hasn't pretty much all series. Makes sense.
Blue could be his integrity. His sense of fairness. Which is why he didn't fight so hard against Fresh!Sans and didn't feel that bad about fighting Error.
... Why would he feel bad fighting Error ? (like, the thing he should feel the worst about in fighting Error would be the fact he is in the Anit-void. The worst place for him, since Ink is afraid of "white empty place". Except he is busying himself enough with dodging to not think about it.)
Hell, Error is just throwing a tantrum like the man-child he is (CQ herself said he was a man-child too).

Ink!sans is an arbiter of creation. He decides what's good and evil, kinda.
So his Integrity has been shattered- he doesn't have a reason to really care about how badly he roughs his opponents up, or how fair the fight is.

His job is about making sure that what the creator of the AU wrote will happen the way it is supposed to. (so he has to make sure there isn't an outside force interfering)
You are the first person I met who even think he is the arbiter. Usually, he is called the "Protector of AUs", which is the shorter version of his title that he uses (partly to hide the existence of a script/fate, if I am to guess)
Also, Ink's creator herself calls him a gremlin and says he is chaotic neutral. I don't think he has a notion of right and wrong or good and evil (or if so, underdevelopped one).
As an example, Ink is neutral toward Dream and Nightmare fight. He is likely along Dream's side because Dream is the last golden apple, so his death means the Multiverse would not work properly (and because Nightmare's goop is a shield protecting him against anything so he doesn't need protection) but he only favors Dream because of it.
If Ink was doing his job in Dreamswap for example, he would be protecting Nightmare instead, for the same reason he protects Dream in the normal one.
But in the same regard, if something bad enough was to threathen to kill Nightmare (the dreamtale goopy and evil one) Ink would have to protect him too, because the Multiverse also need negativity.

I call him an arbiter because he judges each character. Are you doing what you should be? He decides what balance is, and he decides how to proceed.
Yes, he protects balance. But he's never overkill. He always fights at least semi-fairly. Remember when his vials were all gone? No emotion. so if Integrity is the blue one, he takes it upon himself to be a fair judge of characters. And he doesn't have that right now.
Hence why he didn't try to kill Cross in episode 0.1. He had no reason to prioritize many over one, and that lead to the destruction of both Underfell and Underswap, as well as in part Outertale.
@@cetadel6597 So, One, Ink would not try to kill, no matter who is facing him. It is canon he would try to talk his opponent out of the fight, so we can even expect he is never actually giving his all (also, he sees Cross as a friend, increasing the chance of him trying to talk rather than fight).
Two, in Ink's canon, the balance doesn't exist. It is something invented by the fandom. (seriously, where does that balane idea even comes from ? Everytime someone tries to put it in a story, it is also badly done or illogic...)
As far as I know, that blue vial feels like the Integrity trait- What makes sense he doesn’t drink it, because he’s not been totally honest to his creations- Like X!Gaster, who haven’t told the whole thing to Ink

I personally think she just wanted one vial to be left, so Ink wouldn't be completely emotionless.
And the blue one is in the middle, so it just looks nicer.

Quite the opposite! The more filled the vials are the less emotions he has! If you look in Underverse 0.4 where emotionless ink is revealed! All of his vials are filled to the brim!

@@Hip_Studios I meant that he wants one as a backup in case he isn't able to fill up the rest of them (cause I'm pretty sure they are filled when something is created in the AUs)
He becomes emotionless when he doesn't take the vials (which is why the vials were all full in 0.4), but he doesn't want that happening again so he keeps a vial full. And since Error destroyed all the AUs, he's worried that they won't be able to be filled again (and he can't rely on XGaster now to help him, which was his plan before), so he keeps a full one with him at all times.
So instead of a fight that hinges on the blue vial's effects, I think it's gonna hinge on the fact that it's his last vial.
But ye, it's all up to interpretation. Your's is also a cool theory
(There's also the fact that Fresh says, "You don't wanna dry yourself out" which could be another reason he keeps it around)

@@-freshsans True. Comyet even said Ink's magical power comes from his vials. Just like his ability to feel. It means when Ink is "dry" to quote Fresh, he is emotionless and doesn't have magic anymore. If someone took possession of him in that state, he would still have his physical capacities but not the magical ones.
Also, if the dark blue (Indigo) vial was Integrety, there is another issue.
It would mean the other vials should theorically stand for the trait of the human soul. So, the red vial, which we know to be in charge of rage, anger and the variation of, and is active during fight (Comyet said when Ink fights, one of his eye is always a red target) should hold determination. The Orange should hold Bravery... and so, it means Yellow, which is holding joy/happiness should hold Justice... It is one of the most drinked vial... but I dunno if I would call Ink a just person. (he is supposed to be a chaotic neutral person).
Also, when Ink sees the emptiness, he is scarred, because he is afraid of empty space. (maybe PTSD, despite him not consciously remembering his past) and the eyes seems purple to me. So, Purple may have a link to Fear, which... in Undertale, Purple is Perseverance. (it is even pointed out at some point in X-Tale in case you forgot, when XGaster talk about his soul attribute). You can argue he is showing perseverance, since he push through his fear, but he still is afraid too.
Also, like I said. The soul in Undertale show "personnality trait" while Ink's vials gives him "emotions". Those are technically different things. We all have feeling. We all can feel joy, sadness, pain, anger, fear. No matter our soul trait. The difference is how we deal with it, how we make use of the emotions, how they will fuel us. The difference isn't our feeling but our action. So, while maybe with Jakei, the vials also makes Ink feels the trait linked to the color (doesn't seem impossible) it is still not certain either.

@@NotWetToast On comyet's tumblr it's stated that the vials are adapted just for Ink, so I suppose the unlimited vial was the only exception, as it was created by XGaster specifically for Fresh.
If it tastes like paint (they're also called "paint bottles" by comyet) and are adapted for Ink himself, I doubt those would work for someone else.
what if blue vial gives sadness or regret, ink is not drinking it so he wont feel regret or sadness for what he did

Well, the creator of Ink said that Red and Rage and Yellow and Orange are happy emotions so I don't think it had EVERYTHING to do with the UNDERTALE soul traits. But hey! That's the point in theorizing!
