These guys are soft as hell bro. We grow up with nothing in Africa that’s the least of your concerns. They had it easy.

I have never ridden a surfboard and probably never will, I have trouble not falling off a bike, never mind a surfboard and I know little about this guy apart from what I read after watching the video but this is one of the best videos I have ever seen about reclaiming your life, there's so much wisdom in the five minutes and I watch it every so often because it contains so much truth.
Might not be a nice guy or whatever - but here, he shines with wisdom, and for that he has to be commended.

I grew up in Windansea, locals only, drugs, drinking, etc. However, I had surfing and going surfing fixed everything.

I've been sober for 7.5 years. Correct,i did have to change everything, including codenpentent dysfunctional relationships, learning how to pay bills and be responsible. The most important thing was I had to put the bat down and accept my family of origin pkayed a HUGE part in why i bacame a addict. But,I also learned my choices were effecting my life and I had to look in the mirror and take responsibility. The program of AA is what changed my life and I thank god for it, and the people who came before me. Much 💘

How bout AI's death as a wake up call instead of all your negativity? As Kai asserts, people make their own mistakes. Andy was alone in that hotel room.

The locals are a gang. They are stuck in economic pitfalls they cant escape. Low income/poor education= violent drug culture. People have gone missing for "dropping in"....no joke.

This may or may not be true , however you don't seem to realize what life on an island used to be before the masses of tourists blotted out the sand and the giant corporations exploited every inch of the Hawaiian islands just to turn a dime. You have no clue about what happened to the people of Hawaii who grew up and witnessed the change from one stoplight on the entire island, to a gridlock of rental cars crowding out surf spots that had once upon a time been a secret spot. I was once an angry young man who sometimes felt very similar to you about these exact gentleman. I saw them as assholes bent on destroying anyone who stood in their way. I am now an old man and I now understand that I had misunderstood their actions back then. In life it is necessary for everything to have a balance. In small towns such as the town that I grew up in, Things happen faster sometimes than they do in the big cities. The island of instant karma is a term that I used to hear and indeed I was also witness to many times. Sometimes life isn't fair but life always seems to comeback to reward your actions good or bad. Both of these guys have both dealt out their share of pain and equally been on their share of the recieving end of pain. What I am saying is that , Kala and Kai were playing the part in life that they were dealt, just like you and your part and me and my part. Only God knows the plan , we just get to be part of the show. May you find peace in your mind and contentment in your life. Thank you
      John Stoddard
