This is great. You can see the models on that blank wall as though they’re actually graphics of aircraft, without any of the distractions and clutter of trying to look at them on a crowded shelf. And it wouldn’t take much adapting to display dioramas as floating shelves, either. I’m trying this!
Back in my youth, I built a lot of plane models. Not as big as yours, though. We went to hang them on the ceiling of my room using some transparent threads. Worked quite well with those small models. And I had a ceiling full of planes.
Man, I feel your pain Boyd! Room is becoming quite scarce for me too. Between models, a huge Lego collection as well as TV and movie props all over the place, I'm having to find some creative ways to display my out of control collection. But I love it and having all of it surrounding me makes me happy.
That's a really great idea, Boyd! I'm definitely trying that out with some of my larger models. I hope you don't mind, but I'm posting a link to this on a couple of platforms.
The Spitfire has a fixed tail wheel so you'd have to drill a small hole behind it in the fuselage for this to work. Otherwise maybe some type of hook on the wall that the elevator at the rear could rest on.
Hah, yeah! You definitely need some more shelf space!! 😋 I haven't looked in your archives yet. But, did you do videos on that big 1/72 Space Shuttle? Would love to see more on that!!
I don't think I ever made a specific video about the Shuttle Kenny. I worked on it during a few episodes of the old Model Shop Show but I don't remember which ones they were.
The original MPC kit of the Cygnus is very rare these days. Once in awhile one pops up on ebay. If it's complete and in good condition it usually goes for north of $300!
Saludos👍🏻
Way more simple than what I was trying to come up with. Thanks! Awesome B36, that thing is massive!
Very well done on the B-36, I love it!
A neat solution. I've been thinking of using picture frames as mounting bases.
Good idea for wall mounting!
Thank you.
Wow love all the plains. Thank you for the how too. I going have to do that with the two plains I have. Have a great and blessed week sir

Go for it, that's why I do these videos to share what I Learn.
WOW !!! Now that's a "Man Crave " ,
Are you still using the Adhesion promotor before priming? What primer are you now using?
First video I have found with help on this. Any advice/suggestions for 1/72 scale small aircraft like a spitfire? Thanks and awesome video

Ive been looking for the model of the Cygnus from the Disney movie The Black Hole. Any idea on where to look Boyd?

Thanks. That gives me a starting point.
@@erikgarrow9139 Dont waste your time, I was just looking at the one I have, a very bad kit.
Thanks for that .
Great idea! Is that a 1/48 scale 36? If so where did you get It please?
It's 1/72 scale. A friend sent it to me.

I somehow imagined something more grandiose🤗

Update please! Show hanging some fighters!!
Boyd, I hang my smaller models in my hallway, no ceiling fan to worry about.
Needs to expend the room size for hobby!^^👍
It is getting pretty packed in there.
@@TrekWorks if you have yard space it's time to go full Dalmaso with the construction!
I would have been filming that and stomped all over the B-29.
I was thinking the same thing! If it were me the B-29 would be crunched!!
I gather the ground doesnt move unexpectantly where you live.
