Personally, seeing Bruce in this state gives and odd yet refreshing feel to the series and to Batman, as a character, himself. He's literally on the ropes, odds stacked against him, broke and alone with no one to help and yet he still manages to push through. It's what he's fighting for that really makes him THE Batman.

It all reminded me of Frank Miller and Darren Aronofsky's unmade Batman: Year One film where Bruce was separated from his parents when they died and grew up on the streets. Homemade Batsuit and gadgets, and a completely ground level Batman.

Edit - And I enjoyed this series in too because of the reasons in the video. And I’m convinced they got the spying tech idea from The Dark Knight. They don’t show Bruce inventing often and it’s cool to see. And again, the Batsuit looks too cool.
Bruce Wayne Batman is the WORLD'S GREATEST DETECTIVE 🕵️♂️. Finally they hopefully return him to his roots.

@@jaredgarcia8638 I think he did. He would have tried to stop him if he didn’t. It’s mentioned a few times in the comics Batman has a very distinct voice. I’m actually surprised Bruce didn’t try to take his tech back right there though.

So despite Tim Fox thinking he can talk down to Bruce Wayne, i think Wayne is smart enough to say "Whatever man. You want to wear the suit. Fine. But thats my creation you're wearing. Enjoy the physical and mental baggage." Bruce is a bigger man while The Next Batman is just a rookie who hasn't earned the right. Its almost enough to make me want Jean Paul Valley under the mantle despite the murderous consequences

I liked this a lot gave us a different outlook on Bruce Wayne
Whenever I look at Bruce's street level Batman suit with the cloaking tech, I can't help but think of it as a prototype for the Batman Beyond suit.
I have yet to read the book but i will in do time but from the break down i would agree it will be a great book also with the Bruce Wayne/ Batman story line i can't wait to read it.

They really screwed tha pooch when they came up with that concept of batman wit no money. It could of been so much better than it is.
Especially, with genius level intellect that he couldn't find other ways to get funding or that he had no other secret accounts that wouldn't have been tied to his Wayne identity...
It’s because of the writer. Tynion said Batman being a billionaire was “problematic” and was so worried about making him a millionaire that he doesn’t care about the story making sense. Lucius getting Batman’s money makes no sense.

Hi this book sounds really good and about to purchase the trade paperback. But I’m confused you said it continues in 1034 which I’m finding is Batman The Neighborhood but the description of that book doesn’t sound like the conclusion of this story. Am I correct ?? Thxs and keep up the great videos

This was the one Future State book that I really loved. The story and the artwork were awesome. Still I hope the overall Future State doesn't end up being the actual future of the main DCU.

@@darkvixen6841 I agree. Batman without his money and resources is a very interesting concept. I really enjoyed the Dark Detective series and I'm usually not a fan of Batman unless he's fighting someone interesting or he's with characters that I like in the Bat-Family

Ghost Maker is a bat family member. We just don't know what happened to him in Future State

This mini series imo was far better than what we’ve gotten in the Next Batman run so far.
I'm reserve on my theory on DC's Future State.
Some people will Like it, Love it, or Hate it.
But in the long run it's my belief that it's going to be DC's version of Marvel's mid 90's Age of Apocalypse.
Everything holding true and only a select few remembering what happened after the timeline is set back straight.
For right now. I will say I'm on the fence with Future State and unsure if I'm liking it.
