why keep missing "How good is" directive and the its preeeeety good.
'how good is' are very generic words and youtube's algo's favor the first words in the title when recommended videos. As such, he put hearthstone first and the less generic words near the start so that the can get higher in results.
I love how the discard deck doesn't have Lakkari Sacrifice in it.
Meitti its a zoo deck and if you have to waste the first turn of the game playing the quest, the point of playing a zoo deck becomes non existent.
Because it's a Zoo deck and you lose your first turn and (more importantly) you lose a card when picking it.
Instead of taking portal he'd much rather have a chance at Howlfiend/Clutchmother. Besides, it is a 'Zoo' deck and not a midrange/late game deck that would benefit from the portal.
You dont HAVE to play the quest first turn....just before your first or 2nd discard would be nice.
But lets just say you play the quest vs a random 1 drop...how much dmg are you really losing total in one game from that 1 drop. 4? 5? I think you need to take the meta into account and whether you need Value late game or 4-5 extra dmg early game.
even if it costed 0, people would hesitate to play it.
the biggest downside of quests is that it costs 1. if it costed 0 it would be patches on steroids, because your thinning out your deck to 29, and still getting a quest off with the only downside being you are one card short, where most quest decks run shit tons of card draw anyway.
When this deck works it works amazingly well, as is the case for pretty much all Discard decks. Discard is just too dang random to ever be good. Now if Hearthstone's Discard worked like it does in Shadowverse, this deck would be insane.

Discard is very specific in Shadowverse. It'll say "Discard lowest cost card" or "Discard highest cost card", things like that.
yeah, they're all in Dragoncraft (the ramp class) and discard the lowest cost card in your hand (chosen randomly if there's more than one card of the lowest cost)
honestly though they can't print that effect while Zavas is in the game, at least not for Warlock
or like in magic where you choose what to discard
Honestly all they need are more cards like the clutchmother. They need more discard buffers that get some kind of bonus from discarding, two or three more really good cards that want to be discarded would put this deck at the top

Does discard zoo work better in wild if you combine all the previous discard synergy cards... like tiny knight of evil and fist of jaraxxus...?

8:43 That is incorrect. No matter which order the two minions were played in, the Howlfiend would trigger before the Librarian's deathrattle, and the card drawn would not be discarded. "Whenever this minion takes damage" effects trigger immediately upon taking damage, but the deathrattle doesn't go off until death resolutions happen afterward.

Love playing this in questlock and my opponent hitting it with as many damage instances as possible thinking they're screwing you by completing your quest early.

One should have added que Warlock's quest, it is a good addition to the late game and would give another meaning for all the discarding mechanic other than just zoo.

ToastedPro Tqlon priest requires another minion on board to be a 3/7, even a 3/4 is good stats but, you get my point, Howlfiend works REDICULOUSLY well with discard quest, people get it done turn 4
It's Synergy Yeah but kabal talonpriest is a buff card so it's even better than a 3/7 because it's a buff so it can allow some very stupid trades that lets your minions live. But this comes from the same people who made ultimate brokeback and Jade idol and they won't be fixed anytime soon so what do we know. One of the big reasons why Warlock is so dumpster is the terrible card it gets. It got blastcrystal potion, the worst single target removal of any class. While polymorph and hex are direct upgrades in every way because they bypass even deathrattle and have no downside. Almost every class card is better comparatively than warlock.
its hard to compare cards from different classes because priest has a hard time having board control while warlock doesnt.
Howlfiend is one of the most polarising cards in a Quest deck. If you play Howlfiend when you're, let's say at the worst, 2 discards away from completing the quest, your opponent has a very real chance of making you discard your quest. A VERY GOOD CHANCE. It's a terrible card in quest Warlock because of that, and most classes are pretty good at dealing 1 damage a few times nowadays, so yeah... Howlfiend is pretty bad in my opinion, unless you coin it out right after the quest and dont discard your other discards. The deck archetype is very flawed and Blizzard are pushing it for no reason. They should change discard mechanics to like "Discard the cheapest card in your hand" or "Discard an odd mana card" "Discard an even mana card" etc... otherwise it'll always be a stupid deck that only ever wins when it high rolls, and feels like complete shit when it doesnt.

How about to add some more mill elements to this deck, like coldlite oracle and gnomferatu?
i only saw two half net decks from rank 19 to 12, the rest were pure. After that there were none, unless big easy priest classifies.
Yes sometimes you want to discard stuff, but the problem with this card is you can discard your portal before you can play it, or Lanathel

20:15 I would bemoan bad luck as well, and often will when mathematically accurate, but let's review...
- Double Howlfiend opening drawing 2/3 of the 3 discard synergy cards in the deck into both Malc Imps in the midgame
- After opening with a 40% into a 25% discarding of both of the aforementioned synergy cards
And he moans that his opponent drew half (by the midpoint of the game) of his Equality, Pyro, and Consecrates
Jaeus A its sad that kripp only sees his side of the coin.. When he makes a risky play and it workes, its a skillfull play.. Like getting the 2 outta 5 and then the 1 out of 4. But when the enemy draws a conseq, which he will at somepoint in the game its luck..

The power of howlfiend is that if your hand is howlfiend and soulfire, you can play both. If your hand was two soulfires, one would discard the other. So basically you can add more cards with discard effects without being forced into eating the downside.

You know the warlock quest is bad when Kripp is running 2 Lakkari Felhounds, 2 Silverware Golems, 2 Howlfiends, 2 Darkshire Librarians, Clutchmother Zavas, 2 Soulfires, and 2 Malchezzar's Imps, and STILL does not put in the quest. That's 6 discards (plus whatever howlfiend would do), and 5 discard-profiting cards, with still no quest

Discard decks as always completely depend on whether you have an imp on the board. if you do, you win. If you don't, you fail miserably.

Why are you running discard warlock and not running the quest?
It would be risky with Howlfiend in play since the opponent could discard it. Plus turn 1 is very important for zoolock
So why did he soulfire face instead of the taunt? He gets another discard i guess but incurs more damage to his minions and deals less damage to the face.
They should change the warlock quest card the portal so that if the portal is discarded it goes into play like silverware golem
-2x direwolf alpha + 2x crazed alchemist is really good in this deck

I use the first to discard, and i use Treachery to the second to give it to mi opponent(real nice against mage secret and sometimes warrior). use the dk 2 4 late game. Not top but nice deck
I hate to be that guy but I did just upload a Quest Warlock deck yesterday that actually works consistently, and it isn't zoo.
Took about 12 hours, but it worth it lol.

In my opinion they should give the cards tha get buffed from the discarding,charge. You cannot build decks around those cards just to get rekt by polymorph/hex etc. Luckily,control warlock is back so warlock is getting better again

The best use of this card is to use Treachery and Defile/Spreading Madness combo. Get rekt quest mage.

Mcsyncr0 its a zoo deck, so the entire point is to stay ahead of your opponent on the board. Playing the quest on turn 1 means that he can't stay ahead, and makes the deck shit.

Okay, so, I just got Blood Queen Lanathel from a pack FOR THE SECOND TIME. I dusted it the first time and now I got it again. I have all the cards needed for this deck, except for Clutchmother. I have the dust to craft Clutchmother, but I REALLY DO NOT want to spend my ahrd earned dust on such a bad legendary. At the same time, I'm in these games for fun and memes and I can't think of any other fun legendary I mgiht wanna craft, other than maybe the Anduin hero (but I feel like I'm missing Lyra in that deck).
So, in short: what do?
Seriously, at 3:09, if you had just soulfired the stonehill defender, you would have dealt 9 damage to face with minions and had the extra card

After toying with howlfiends in a control discard deck, I would say it is certainly not an awful card. Yes is very specifically good in discard, but that doesn't make it total trash. People have been talking about how your opponent can force you to discard the quest, but the thing is that will almost never happen. In the two dozen.or so games I used the deck I only ever had that happen to me once. If you know what you're doing, it can easily get more than half of the quest done, and avoid discarding anything too important.
Why no quest?
Because it's a zoo deck not a discard deck.
