Excellent video. For the novice players out there, the great thing about 8-Ball is that there is no right or wrong way to get out. As long as you have decent position and insurance balls for the first four balls and tighten up your position play for the last four. If you have good shotmaking skills, you can get out of a jam and possibly get back in line for the runout, especially if your opponent leaves you a tough shot during your inning. Great content as usual, brother!
Took me a few minutes to be able to read it wiff how quickly it faded away. Love the video! I always love seeing how/why the pros use certain types of spin.
Like so many others, I am using way to much English on the cue ball than what is needed. Thank you for doing this. I will be rewatching this a few times. Would love to see a few more of these. I just found your channel and saw it on Billiard TV during a break, a day after I found it. Appreciate your business plan and great instruction.
@@SharivariFollow up. So it has been 11 days since I commented and have changed so much in using less spin than I used to. I realized that I was not taking the best routes and I’m now using less spin. I’m getting better positions and I’m seeing angles like never before. I can’t thank you enough. I’m not a runout player, but I’m the last 3 days I’ve had some. The guys I play with told me my game has really changed. I told them about your channel. So hopefully they will subscribe. FYI, I’m 56 and I do play with older people most of the time. So to see me playing better than when I was young, is making me fall in love with pool all over again. I appreciate you so much.
@Sharivari Thank you Sharivari! Since you hit it firmly, I suppose no cut or spin induced throw to worry about, but perhaps some deflection to compensate for?
Not sure how to say or ask this for your opinion or other are welcome.... The way I play 8 ball is in this order if possible. Trouble balls first, get to the trouble balls as soon as possible, possible break outs, Try to work from one end of the table to the other. While also leaving my last ball closest to the eight ball for the last. I hold my own very well. But, I do fall short of a runout way to often. Usually and/or mostly from a run out from the break with most of the balls on the table. Open tables are not a problem with 8 to 12 balls on the table. I watch the Pro's a lot and try to change my ways but something isn't right. What do you all think? Also I have to play on a 7 foot bar box. Sucks I know.
I play with exactly the same mindset as you! That being said, I still have a long way to go in terms of potting consistency… I can make three or four pots without missing in a 7ft predator maybe 30% of my games. I’ve been strictly playing on 9ft tables for about 4 months now. And let me tell you, 70% of the time my playing ability reminds me of casual bar players when I play on those🤣. Anyway, about your question, I have a suggestion that may hopefully help. 1. Breaking out balls or taking care of problem balls ASAP is great, but most of the time this is not possible. From watching the pros and from personal experience, I’ve found it’s a good habit to plan a one or two shot pattern with the intention to find a suitable position to take care of those clusters or problem balls. Try to get as creative as posible for this, there are a lot possible of solutions most players don’t even consider for most situations.
Glad to read that you are practicing with your gf. but the truth is, after watching a few video's, we understand very good anyway. Thanks for your lessons. love them.

suggestion for a video: arrange the balls randomly and and pot them to one specific hole show us some angles that would be pretty tough and educative.🙏
Do you apply the spin once you position yourself to hit the ball? Or when you bend down to hit do you already have the spin on? Do you understand my question? Sorry for my English. Greetings from Chile.
As a person who plays every day and is an okay ball maker my main problem is controlling my spin I always use too much, do you have any tips on knowing how much side spin to use and know how to use spin instead of hitting the cue ball harder.
I am switching my eyes between cue ball (to make sure I add the intended spin) and object ball (for aim). Before my final stroke, I am looking at the object ball.
Thank you for answering! You are right, I failed to notice how awkward applying spin while in that position could be, probably due to having to deal with swerve and longer bridge inconsistencies in the case that type of spin were to be applied, correct?
Sharivari great news I'm male billiard's champion in our school I'm in the 7th grade and my opponent is 10th 11th grade ty for your tips and can you give examples of carbon budget cue's so I can buy

I think you use spin too often to be honest, 15 on side, you can handle that without spin, high ball with spin on such a shot lowers your chances significanylu especially since you can handle the angle without left/right spin.
Oh i think you musunderstood me because i was not clear, when i say you use spin too often i am just talking about side spin, of course high spin IS absolutely necessary on that shot. The problem here is side spin, especially with follow always dangerous at that distance. A touch of external side spin is a good thing to get a natural contact between cueball and object ball, but so much side spin is dangerous especially when you follow, because the cueball dont slide, side spin immediately makes the cueball swerve if you decelerate, speed is so critical on these shots. If you are talking about avoiding 1 rail scratch, just lower your tip a little bit, with a touch of side, plenty enough. At 3:55 another shot where you don't need side, this shot is absolutely doable with no side spin or minimum. You know the acceleration that side spin creates at rail contact, that means speed control is always trickier with side, of course sometimes it is necessary, but here just a touch of side is enough

On the last shot of the first rack, why didn’t you use a little high right spin to help you make the shot like usual?
If you mean the 8 Ball; it was because my bridge was longer than usual, and I had to elevate too much.
