I’m subscribing… I love to see other black people learning a new language. In your case five. I’ve been learning French for almost a year and I’m just now getting serious about it. I hope that this time next year I will be able to talk to my French friend in French 50% of the time. Right now it’s between 5-10% french. I’m lucky her English is a lot better than my French or else we wouldn’t be able to communicate 😆
I think since you’re trying, that’s all that matters. Mistakes and setbacks will be the key to you reaching that 50% in no time, because you’ll have your friend to help you when needed. Good luck improving your French, you got this!
I'm a native portuguese speaker, and if you wanna practice, just tell me, we can practice together. I love to learn other languages, and i really get happy and proud when i see someone trying to learn my language. You can do it.
Brasil es un gran "black american country". Tienen un sentido del humor excelente, su cultura es alegre, su gente es muy feliz. Tu español es muy bueno!
Yeah it would be like limiting your resources. Duolingo isn’t the only resource I use for language learning, but I am glad I can couple it with another app or a Netflix series im watching to really be exposed to the language learning.
I’m trying to progress in French and ASL while beginning Levantine Arabic and Mandarin and it’s so daunting. I love how you plan it out. Great idea! I also watched the same Arabic show on Netflix and it was bomb!
So glad to see someone learning brazilian portuguese! It's my native language and I love that it's getting more international recognition. Boa sorte com os estudos ❤️🇧🇷
Muito obrigado, and of course, it deserves more recognition, especially Brazilian Portuguese. Brazil has such a beautiful culture and put their own spin on the language which I love
Thanks for the video! For your Arabic goal you would love Judith Meyer's Arabic Script Hacking book. It really helped me to learn the letters. There are also great RUclips channels for learning MSA basics.
A fellow Brazilian Portuguese learner who knows a ton of Spanish, woohoo!😂 Lemme stop. Anyhow, I’m definitely subscribing. I’m also studying Indonesian & Haitian Creole regularly, & to a way lesser extent I sometimes study Russian, Ukrainian, & Swahili. I stick to mainly languages that are in the Latin & Cyrillic alphabets, but I wish you the very best luck with all the other languages that also have different scripts. Looking forward to your next videos
Wow you have such a variety in the languages that you are learning! I would love taking a crack at languages in the Cyrillic alphabet but maybe I’m just not ready 😅. Likewise, hope you grow comfortable with the languages that you’re learning and their writing systems.
@@imericwilliams Yeah, but I kinda have a “cheat code” since 1/2 my family are from South America & because Haitian Creole is the 3rd most spoken language in my metro area (South Florida/Miami), while Brazilian Portuguese is the 4th most spoken language here. Basically I grew up hearing those 4 main languages from family, friends, classmates, coworkers, & strangers.🤷♂️ Indonesian is the only language that’s completely foreign to me, but I’m having a LOT of fun learning it. May we both succeed in our goals this year. 🙌
Keep it up! Spanish is my only target language this year, then it's a toss up back to my second native language French, or Portuguese, or Arabic haha. Technically I was "born" bilingual to trilingual, but since I used French less later on, I forgot it and don't claim it, but i understand it. I currently don't say trilingual or a polyglot bc I give myself a 3 out of 5 for Spanish. I feel comfortable and understand way more than I speak, but yeah no false advertisement. Not fluent haha.
I am currently learning 3 foreign languages. It is too much of a hassle to keep up with that quarterly schedule you were showing. I just practice every day. I now just use Duolingo for the stories and to keep my Diamond League streak. I feel like i get more comprehension out of the stories than the lessons itself.

i love that you use Duolingo, so many people hate on it but for a Swedish learner it is really nice since so little resources exist for it

Hey but at least you know your level and strengths/weaknesses. It’s always interesting to grow up speaking more than one language
Yayyyy! Do it!! Looking forward to seeing your progress.
Glad you’re here for the ride, more to come very soon!

I feel that, consistency can be difficult to main, but nice that you’re still practicing the languages you’re learning when you have a chance

I will only say I can speak 3 and fluently only 2, I’m a bit rusty in my Spanish though. Hope to make a video on this
