Great catches on those hard baits. I try to change the hook on the spoons and spinners to a single hook, it’s better for releasing fish. Couldn’t believe you going in that water to get it untangled. You a brave man. Something about that reel doesn’t sound good to me. The drag system is all messed up, you shouldn’t hear drag when reeling in line. Not sure if it’s the reel brand or something is not working right inside that reel.
@@truenorthangler yeah for sure man. Im probably gonna fully switch over to SI flies spinners or steelhead slammers next season. Easier for them to shake the hook too if they break me off. I think you're right on the drag, something always seemed off with the reel. This reel is a Fuego, and switched to a NASCI (per your suggestion) after having issues with this reel which has worked great this year

@ Shimano reels have always been my go to, and also Daiwa. Definitely need a reel with smooth drag.
You might want to check your fishing pole line guides to make sure they are smooth with no abrasions that could damage your fishing line.
@@willapanews9761 I switched poles this season and pretty sure the issue was the drag, but I'll double check that too
