And Cynthia Lennon said that John only hit her twice *before* they were married when he was a very young psychologically messed up 19 year old guy, and Cynthia always said that she would always be in love with John and she was married 3 times after him. Cinthia also said in a 1984 TV interview that is on youtube, that John was a kind sensitive man and the cruel one the media often portrays him as Yoko and his girlfriend May Pang said the same things.

He was probably a chauvinist but he wasn't a wife beater, that's one of those made up internet stories that has taken a life of its own. Cynthia wrote in her book it was one time, when they were teenagers and he caught her dancing with another boy. He admitted to being violent but he was talking about as a teenager, picking fights with people in Liverpool.
And she should, she did NOT woke him, she was a feminist, you treat women with respect. She was Japanese and knew how women in her culture were treated back in the day (as subservient), and wanted to be treated as a partner, not property. Ever wonder why Japanese Royal women are forced to give up their titles once they marry a commoner?? Ever wondered why the current Emperor, when he dies, his title will be passed on to his brother instead of his only child, his daughter Princess Aiko??? Because that's how it is in Japan despite other countries that allow firstborn regardless of gender, to be King or Queen, and there is growing support in Japan to change the laws to allow Aiko to be the next Empress. The UK finally changed those laws for Prince William's children; his daughter Princess Charlotte is currently next in line after her brother Prince George, and before younger brother Prince Louis; any of George's future children, especially his firstborn, regardless of gender, will be next in line.

John started out as the typical old school woman beating misogynist macho geezer until Yoko educated him. In a way, Lennon was the first woke male celebrity. A lot of his solo work lyrics sound like a man realizing what an ass he's been and trying to atone for his past self.
An awful look.

The beatles were an awful band as status quo were a better band
I love Quo but that ludicrous, you’d never had heard of them if it weren’t for the Beatles
Goombay Dance Band
Steps
@RicksterGbot I love Quo and seen them many times. But as I said you would never have heard of them if the Beatles never happened
@RicksterGbot the Beatles influenced nearly everything that came during and after them. If it wasn’t for Sgt Pepper Quo wouldn’t have got their foothold in Psychedelia. The Beatles changed the face of music. They put Britain on the music world map.
Overrated
Well tell me who isn’t overrated and I’ll say if it wasn’t for the Beatles you wouldn’t have heard of them. (Not counting those before)
“The most successful ever are overrated”. Ooh edgy!!
Wow, look at you. How cool you are!
You can be overrated in the first few years. A fad. You can't be overrated after 60 years. The test of time cannot be denied.
@RicksterGbot didn’t know Andrew Ridgeley was a member of the Stones
Wife beater, cheater, ditched his kid....
Ya, awesome legacy
His great legacy is his music, he is by far the most important composer in the history of popular music.Whether you like it or not
So much negativity. He was really in love with Yoko and he cared about Sean more than anything else. Yes, he wasn't an angel and he left his previous life behind but he's not the demon some of you might try to make him be. Listen to some of his last interviews and see how he talks about his plans with Julian. Stop hopping onto the hate wagon.
@susano-o sure dude could sing. Must have been awesome to hear that voice while nursing the black he gave her 😐
Not defending hitting her, but it was just a slap. Shame he was a shitty father, just don’t write off the Beatles as a whole for it.
Ringo was the one who ACTUALLY violently beat his wife.
@@EnterTheSoundscape he also beat his wives and girlfriends
