Love the damaged tape options. That alone makes me want this, but otherwise thanks for demo-ing in stereo, with an expression pedal, and mentioning that it has tap tempo. Great, non-annoying melodies and loops, too. (Much appreciated on your entire channel).
Thanks man, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I do what I can and try not to make it terrible. I like this pedal, kinda wish I still had it but there's so many awesome delays. This is one of the best.
@@aBunchOfPedals Thank you for this, really. Which pedals stays? Compared to Belle Epoch or El Capistan, which one would you prefer for "authentic" (I know...) 70's sounds in front a dirty channel? many thanks.
@@unmondelibre Honestly, I've never played the other two but the tapex2 is pretty sweet. That being said, my favorite delay is easily the Echosystem from Empress.
right now I'm hesitating between the empress echo system or 2-3 different delay pedals for specific needs... How would you compare the tape delay of the empress to the tapex?
I'd say they are both really close. I like the modulation on the Tapex2 better but the ES sounds really good too. Yea, that's a tough call because the ES can do whatever you want it to.
Your videos are exactly what most people want. The product. White background. The product being used. No talking! Love it. 1k subs will multiply by a 100 with time.
wednesdaychildhasfartogo there are several digital tape delays that can. Wampler Faux Tape, Strymon El Capistan come to mind, but there are def others too.!
Love your videos man, straight class all the way! Have you had a chance to compare the TapeEx2 to the ElCapistan? In the market for a tape delay and can't decide based on the demos online - they both sound great.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help but I don't see why it wouldn't sound good as long as you didn't push a super loud signal into it. It's a sweet delay though, as far as "tape" delays go.
aBunchOfPedals yeah I think it’s impressive and I’ve had a belle epoch deluxe and now I have an avalanche run. It’s definitely capable of amazing sounds but I have just read somewhere on the internet that it does not handle gain very well, like it overloads and the repeats become muddy and noisy. I found this to the the main weakness of most delays TBH. I’m looking for a delay that handles fuzz or distortion well and sounds amazing with clean tones, but I’m about to give up in my search and get two separate delays. ;)
@@gonebymidnight2881 Whenever I use high gain (mostly fuzz) and delay, I just turn down the master on the fuzz pedal so it doesn't blast right into the delay. Some are probably better at handling that gain but I'm really not an expert on it. I just don't use a ton of high gain stuff. I guess you can always try it out for yourself and sell it if it's not working for ya. It's tough, sometimes you just have to get a pedal in your setup to really hear what it's like.
@@profd65 In a good way, he makes me rethink the effect itself, because he has his own take on it. This sounds like tape actually moving, many just sound like a delay with a chorus or something.
@@From_the_mil That’s totally understandable. If that’s the case, then this would be a great delay for ya! Looks like there’s plenty for sale on reverb. 👍
I liked the pedal and the tunes, but you don't need to *CONSTANTLY* play with the dials. I mean, what the fuck? Nobody uses a delay like that. Set it to something, then let it be for awhile.
I know this was nearly 2 years ago, but you are seriously the best pedal reviewer on RUclips. No contest, these are incredible
GraffitiPunk221 Thank you, that really means a lot to me :)
All stereo pedals should be reviewed in stereo. Thank you!
Glad you were feeling it.
....and all time-based effects should be stereo - not just I/O but stereo effect.

The Cars in Stereo! Nice touch!
Great demo man! Wish more stereo demos were of this quality.
Thanks! I'm going to be doing all of my demo vids in stereo when I have the chance.
How have I not heard this before? It sounds incredible!
This is a thing of beauty and a joy forever
Wow. Just wow.
1:55 amazing toanz!!! OMGASM
Damn, this sounds so good.
Amazing demo! Thank you, .....now I want one

The synth! The synth is speaking
VESTER Argus it always does 😉
Sounds so good.
"Simple" delay (not too many features) but awesome sweet sound!
erixoff yea it sounds great. One of the best tape delays I’ve heard
crystal clear pure caffeine
Is there any other pedal that emulates tape flutter like this one!? I LOVE it!

Catalinbread BED is the only one That could compete with this IMO

Thanks, glad you're digging the videos. I have never tried the el cap before but I'd love to try one. Let me know how it works out for you :)
Will do , thanks for the reply!
If you have the Thunderclaw, PLEASE do a demo of it!
wo that's amazing!
Yup, it sounds really nice. This one is going to stick around for a while! The stereo sounds make me happy :)
holy fucking shit. this isa a cool pedal.
Yea man, it's got some really cool modulation.
Does holding the engage button cause occilation?
Between this and the skreddy echo which would y'all choose?
Can't go wrong but I say Skreddy.
Is it just ping pong delay essentially that creates the stereo effect? Thanks 🙏
component in a hip hop track?
100% wet available in mono?
Anyone know the housing dimensions?
I honestly don’t remember, maybe reach out to the company, they would know best
Wish I knew where to buy one. They're sold out.
Fuck, I just bought 3 pedals this week and now this
Hahaha! 😆
This sounds beautiful! What amp are you using for the guitar parts? Lovely clean sounds.
Subscribed👍
Thanks! I'm actually going directly into my interface for this video. Glad you enjoyed it and welcome aboard!
How well does it handle high gain / distortion?

Does it have dotted 8th?
I honestly don't remember. Maybe check out the manual on their website.
Everything by Mr. Black complicates the equation.

What happen to this pedal
Not sure… they don’t make it anymore? Look on reverb.com for a used one. It’s pretty solid but there’s better delays if you run into high prices
@@aBunchOfPedals would you get the Kelley Halo for the Tapex2?
@@From_the_mil neither honestly, the Thermae from CBA or the T-120 Deluxe from Demedash are my favorite (and maybe best sounding) delay pedals.
