Dude, they don't design bikes on what they look like, but on how well they perform. Trial bikes are meant to be lightweight, and agile. They rather make a bike that performs well, than looks good.
ive said for a long time now that with kids slamming their seats on the rear tire they might as well just do away with seats all together..and....they have..:( crazy..

i race bmx so im pretty sure i have the mental and physical ability to do anything that involves bikes and btw i will admit i can't do 150 miles in a week and neither can you :) i do 15 miles in 3 days

They are not without skill. And these days is there no room for just seeing people having a damn good try (and doing quite well in some cases) ? If you see only the ultimate as being worth anything, you will find life very disappointing.

It would probably look a little goofy but just the other day I busted a tooth on my sprocket from trying this kind of stuff
The whole chain is covered by the wheel anyway
