      Thank you so much! And yes, it will be fine in the fridge as long as you have a support structure inside the cake. I would recommend storing it inside a sealed box in the fridge (like a cake box with a lid) so that it does't absorb the moisture or flavours in the fridge

      I'm using buttercream, which is made with butter and icing sugar / powdered sugar. Is butter icing another name for this?

      You could try on the stovetop instead, putting the buttercream in a glass bowl that rests on a pan that has just a tiny bit of simmering water in it.
