I was at this show! It was my first Bonaroo and I had just graduated high school, and I wasn’t super familiar with Matt and Kim but had heard daylight before. Me and my cousin were walking around adventuring between other bands we knew better and happened to be walking nearby when the opening piano bit hit and immediately stopped and joined the edge of this crowd! The energy of this video captures only a fragment of how electric this show was! I will never forget it!

You guys were an monstrous influence on my musical tastes and even my personality, I remember thinking these guys don't give a fuck about anything, they enjoy making their own sound and giving off positive energy and THAT'S IT and that is a personal philosophy I live by to this day. I was a freshman in high school when I discovered you guys on Myspace and I got my two friends obsessed with yall too. We made a cover band and learned every song from "to/from." I even begged my mom to buy me the same Korg model keyboard on eBay. My friend got an electric drumset. Everyday after school was spent trying to nail a new song, we'd use Winamp to slow down certain parts to get the drums or keys to sound just right :) When we found out yall were touring in the old van, I saved up all my money for weeks on end for an hour taxi ride to New Orleans where yall played in a gutted run-down shack. When we got to the "Coach Haus," I almost passed out when I saw the ol' van yall were touring in, I had a sticker of it so I knew what it looked like. I wore the Matt and Kim shirt I bought from yall's website so yall knew I wasn't a poser haha. When I got up ALL MY COURAGE to approach you guys, yall were so freaking nice! I was fumbling around with my shitty digital camera that was dying, Kim told me a trick where you pop out the batteries and rub em in your palms to heat them up for one last kick. It got enough juice to take ONE picture and that is the only picture of me from that entire decade (I was extremely insecure and never took photos) where I'm smiling ear to ear with my arms around you guys. Even as a grown ass person, with my music tastes ever changing, there's one band I can switch too. Songs and sounds that unlock a special eternal bliss in my head. I love the current stuff too esp from Be Kind Rewind, you guys have grown so much as artists. I'm just a random guy, but thank you. Thank you for everything.

I immediately went and bought the Grand Vinyl when i saw the link. Then I noticed the blue Sidewalks vinyl and decided I had to have that as well. Cant wait to see you guys in Philly again in a few months. Been to lots of concerts but you two are, without a doubt, my favorite live show ive seen.
Hands down my favorite people to see live. I got them when they came to Pensacola a couple years back for valentines day. Beautiful energy. So much love and freedom. Kim Threatened all of us with sex. We are still waiting.
