Hey man, thanks for all the answers! This was super cool! you’re one of my personal heroes. So thank you for inspiring me. I’m still looking for that first gig, so wish me luck!
A few weeks ago I found out a youtuber was going to host an unofficial Overlord read-through and he sought people online to take the roles. I auditioned, sadly just as the role got taken, but he said my voice would've actually fit very well. So that makes me happy enough :'3 Fantasderful day everyone!
From these questions (and another video you made) I learned that Voiceover work is a lot like drawing. Not in a technical sense, they're two completely different art forms, but in the sense that they're both things that take practice. discipline. There's no guarantee you'll make it big, and you should do it because it's something you love to do. I've been drawing for 8 years now, and I find myself giving younger/aspiring artists the same advice that you give in these videos. That's just... really really cool to me!

Currently trying to find the right equipment for recording and all that jazz, and practicing on some things that I'm a bit weak on for voice acting (such as doing a convincing laugh, or a fake cry)
I just stumbled on your channel here. I actually remember your performance from Apotheon on Wii. I remember imdbing to see if Zeus was voiced by Richard Epcar again and being shocked it was some new guy. Anyway I just wanted to say you're super talented and keep up the good work.
I remember noticing, when I was a kid, that sometimes a character on one cartoon or movie had a voice that I recognized from some other show, and it would actually help me like the character and get an idea what kind of character they would be. Like some people played the 'good guys,' for instance, so I would know this is a hero character.
I nearly lost my mind when you said you started an audio blog on Tumblr, I first started voice acting in Tumblr but I became discouraged when it was attracting attention. It just goes to show that when you persevere then anything could happen.

1. Can you do multiple different takes on a character and just send both to the director in the audition? 2. Is it important to listen to your own recordings, to improve your voice/ emotional aspects?
1.) Yes, most directors will ask for 2-3 takes for auditioning. You can do the first take how the director asked for out of the audition, and then the other two takes you can go ham and read the line however you wish. 2.) Very important to learn how to listen to your voice and becoming comfortable listening to it. Your voice sounds different in your head compared to outside of your head, so it's important to know where you need to compensate.

I have a problem with always being dehydrated when speaking, I always need to refill my liquid container a few times if I'm doing a long recording. Unfortunately, I record in a room that's downstairs from my kitchen.
Our bodies and brains need water but if you mean throat lubrication to help in longer or more intense sessions of voice stuff, I personally most often used small amounts of liquid honey. Just enough to encourage saliva. Also, chilled or room temperature pineapple juice without chunks was great. Just little sips for lubrication, NOT hydration or it might lead to bathroom problems. I adopted these tips from here: spinditty.com/learning/Tips-For-Singers-and-Public-Speakers-Throat-Lubrication- It’s an article by an Isabella Snow.
