It might feel that way but it really is repetition and muscle memory. Barre chords are a lot easier if you bring your elbow towards your ribs, it naturally creates a stronger position for the wrist. Maybe a try a song with just one barre chord, like a B minor and slowly work towards this but I promise you can do it.
