    Crossing the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct Roz has a little meltdown over the height then we finally finish our journey into Llangollen going through the stunning 'narrow's'.
    Hi, we are Rozzie & Rob with our lovely cockapoo's Ralph & Rosie. We have given up the rat race, sold our house and have bought a new narrowboat, Thistle & Rose. Our vlogs are showing our learns as we go from bricks and mortar to life on the water. Join us as we literally learn the ropes of becoming continual cruisers on England's 2500 miles of canals & rivers.
    Our vlogs are ideal if you have ever wondered what it's like to live on a narrowboat or are considering to make the leap and buy your very own narrowboat. There's always some humour, lots of mistakes and always a few drinks being poured. Subscribe to our channel, ask us a question or just watch our videos as there's something for everyone.

    Great job steering thru the narrow canals Rob, the toe path looked wider than the canal lol Roz looked like you needed a few pints after crossing the aqua duct my stomach lurched just from watching can’t imagine being there. Absolutely amazing views like boating thru a park❤️

    Fabulous vlog thank you. We crewed for friends on a hire boat last year and unfortunately, it was quite an old boat and although we were experienced boaters it was only 5 feet longer than we were used to it was not an easy boat to steer. We missed so much of the scenery and very conscious of the fact that our friends were up for'rd and got all the bumps. We had actually visited Llangollen the year before by car and loved it especially Horse Shoe Falls. I would love to cruise it again but on a shorter ore modern boat . We have some fab photos of the trip anyway and as a person like Roz I was amased at myself going over the aqueduct . I even took photos ( but NOT over the very edge 😛) Really great to see it all again thank you

    Awwh! I know how awful that feels. Your head swims and your palms sweat. A thought: In my salad days I climbed 90 foot oil tanks. I stood atop road tank wagons without rails. No sweat. Then you were born and after that I could barely look downstairs without feeling dizzy. So who inherited this thing from whom?? Mum XXXX

    If the rooster doesn't wake you, the blunderbuss sure will.

    • @thenarrowboatgoodlife
      @thenarrowboatgoodlife  20 дней назад +1

      The idea for that came from being moored outside a farm with a rooster! and at 4am I really wished I had the blunderbuss! 😂

    • @sherlockholmes6990
      @sherlockholmes6990 16 дней назад +1

      @@thenarrowboatgoodlife I just thought it funny that the solution to the rooster noise involved an even louder noise from the blunderbuss. With the blunderbuss, it's a one-and-done, well depending on your aim, whereas the rooster is an on-and-on, so I completely understand.

    I also don’t like heights, I once froze when I went up a tower at a viewpoint in the Netherlands, my wife at the time punched me in the stomach to distract me and get me back down, painful solution but it worked 😂

    Superb vlog! Love Llangollen, sone cracking back street pubs. Roz, worry about about the meltdown. I walk mountains and I struggled to walk across the Ponty. Had to just look straight ahead and said nothing to my walking companion. Contrary to years ago when on a family holiday a fearless 13 year old went across on the running board on the drop side - can't believe my mum and dad let me do it. Thanks Colin

      Hey Colin! Strange how age affects us! My mum has said something similar!
      Do you remember the names of any of the pubs? We are returning to Llangollen in winter and would love any recommendations.
      Thanks for watching ☺️

      @@thenarrowboatgoodlife The Sun up on the A5 is good for real ale and has some quality music on at weekends. Sadly I notice from the interweb that The Ponsonby is closed. Further out The Sun at Trevor is lovely and another Sun Inn at Rhewl (nice walk) is a tiny rural pub. Wonder why there are so many Sun Inns in the area.

    Does the boat keep self centered on its own on the narrow parts of the canal.

    • @thenarrowboatgoodlife
      @thenarrowboatgoodlife  22 дня назад

      No, you have to continually keep it straight with the tiller. Especially on the llangollen canal as there's a flow to the water. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
