  • This is a how-to for oil painting mediums but within the complexity, several simpler mediums can be made such as:
Linseed oil (regular, black oil, stand, or combo), Dammar, Beeswax = Painting Gel
Linseed oil (regular, black oil, stand, or combo), Chalk and/or Marble Dust = Putty (no heating required)
Using all the ingredients described in the video blends the high saturation and gloss of the gel and the stringiness and flexibility of the putty. My intention is that this video encourages exploration into creating your own medium that fits the needs you have while being mindful of what ingredients need to be carefully measured and what ones can be experimented with.

How much dammar can you actually infuse into the oil, do you have an idea of the ratio? I know you don't wanna do too much, but kinda curious how much of it can actually be dissolved

Canabua Wax it is more solid that usual bees wax......needs a highter temperature to melt ☝️ ...So, your colors painted on cavens will be more solid and less subject to becone soft or even to begign bleeding 😏

It has nothing to do with the video, but can I use only black oil as a painting medium? Or do you mix black oil with linseed oil or walnut oil?

Yes, you can use just black oil as a medium. As long as you don't mix it into lead white because pure black oil mixed with lead white will cause it to dry too fast and it could cause cracking, all other colors are fine.
