- I'm happy to show you all our amazing collaborative project for the JudgementalCritter's RWBY animation challenge. I wanted to recreate an emotional scene, and thanks to my wonderful friend Quill, I truly believe that we were able to not only recreate but deepen the sense of loneliness and loss. No matter how many times I watch it, this scene gives me chills. Poor Jaune.
This is fantastic! The artwork is great and the switch to Jaune seeing Pyrrha in person instead of her on the phone made the scene even more painful.
The whole thing about the memory becoming a phone is literally brilliant!!! This made me emotional! Really stellar and the art is fantastic

I still feel to this day this is what made me truly support Lancaster.
Losing Pyrrha hurt Jaune deeper than anyone, but it hurt Ruby too. Not only because a friend died, but because she also sees how badly it has wounded Jaune’s heart and haunts him.
She would wish so badly to take his pain away and try to be the best friend she can be for it, but over time the two fall in love with each other.
Even though Ruby knows she can never replace Pyrrha and won’t try to, she is willing to do all she can heal the heart of the knight she had unknowingly fallen for.
Well I don't really think Ruby loves Jaun more than she cares about a friend, but obviously he is her best friend
This is the scene that made me start to the value of lancaster
This is so incredible the transitions are so amazing, and Jaune flipping back to his Beacon days is so powerful, great job!
Outstanding. This scene is still the best in the show for me, even more than the statue scene in Volume 6.

This video is fantastic! I love it! One thing I would change though is Nora's sleeping expression in 0:22 , from a calm one to a nervous one. Like if Nora was having a bad dream too, because Phyrra was Ren and Nora's teammate too but they never have to deal with it. Having them not having a good night sleep would show they have to live with the death of a friend too, even if they don't wake up like Ruby did. It is just an idea. (English is my second language, so if you don't understand anything, please tell me)

This is one of the best scenes in the show. The animators and writers really did a good job with this one. The music is so beautiful and sad. I really liked Pyrrha, and her death was so brutal. I'm still confused why Ruby was hearing Pyrrha calling for Jaune in her dream, as well as the final words between Pyrrha and Cinder when Ruby was too far away to hear them. I wish Ruby would have talked to Jaune about what she saw that night, but I think the writers were too afraid that the fans would interpret that as the two characters being shipped.

i wouldn't have felt the ship myself but i would have loved the scene no matter what
it would have added a lot to both characters

the original scene RT did was pretty dang good in itself and I almost cried seeing this
but seeing the transitions from the phone to the actual memory and back added to the already painful emotion.
this was really well done and brought me back to the time when I still loved this show and felt the writing was still decent
Thank you so much! The facial expressions Quill drew really brought out the heartbreaking emotion.
I also loved the original scene, RWBY tended to be pretty fast in terms of story, the original scene of this was one of the few times where they let the characters and story breathe, and I wanted to recreate that tug on my heart ❤️
The whole scene was emotional but had Ruby shed a tear when she walked away it would’ve hurt even more.
One major issue i have with this is that it still treats pyrrha as nothing more than a tool for a side character's growth

This is really good! I especially like how the environmental elements were done, and the transition from Pyrrha in the flashback to phone was done so well!

Every time Pyrrha is mentioned or appears in any way it hits me in the feels
This is really good. It seems to establish a bit more of an emotional connection between the two of them.
If I could request anything from you. I would love to see you animate an original scene with Ren or Nora to better illustrate their relationship with Pyhrra as well.

Wow, this scene already had an impact when I first saw it, but this version just shot a sledgehammer through my ribcage 😭 fantastic. For me this scene was much more impactful than the statue one; it felt more personal and sorrowful. This version makes it EVEN MORE personal, more meaningful. Thank you for sharing it I love it so so so much!!

I feel the one who may be the most hurt (besides ruby) is jaune honestly he is like a knight yet he wasn't strong enough to save anyone even in the new volumes when he fails. He endures so much yet still trains hard to do his best to save people.
