These places feed them thawed out dead fish, and they only eat if they perform a trick. These animals are so frustrated, stressed, and bored, they self mutilate. The man who used 4 dolphins, as flipper in the show said that the last one attempted suicide by closing his blow hole and died in his arms. Dolphins, like orcas don't do well in captivity. They need miles of space in all directions to swim and dive. This is what they do and for good reasons. Here they can only swim in endless circles and are fed thawed dead fish. In captivity dolphins only live up to 5 years whereas, in the wild they can live up to 50. Some don't live to see their first birthday.
