@Zaddy-Lu it's called "The Age of Adeline". I personally love it & I've seen it like 5 times, but if you're one of those people that gets hung up on the fantasy science-fiction parts that could never work in real life then don't bother. If you're willing to overlook those parts then it's a really good movie!! 😊
Falling is honestly such a terrifying thing as you get older. I've seen it with my grandmother and my great aunt, and at 50, I am already doing exercises to strengthen my knees and maintain my balance.😊
Definitely saw it with my sisters MIL. She was living independently and fell in her kitchen while cooking. Went into the hospital, and never came back home. No prior illness. 😢
I'm 44 with multiple back injuries and a tendency to lose my balance on occasion, I think it's time I start strengthening and do more than walking every day.
@@barbmck28 Good idea. Back strengthening exercises can do wonders for back pain. When I was in my late-20s, I started doing them and today, at age 31, I've got zero back pain. Granted, I didn't have any beforehand, but it's still cool to max out the back machines at the gym.
In that Hospital Scene they are amazing too! I actually got a little choked up. When the Daughter has such a look of relief.. 😢 I love "immortality" movies that address the heartbreak of watching everyone around you growing older and dying off. It's hard enough doing it once as we age, Imagine doing it 10, 20 times. My mom was going to funerals every few months in her 80s..
I love the way they talk, so natural. The old lady's intonation give me a teenage daughter vibes and the young one sounds like an old lady inside just from the way she stare and the expression while talking. They're so gooooooood without overacting anything
The title says An 80 yr old man??? Calls a 27yr old his mother??? When infact the 80yr old is not a man but her daughter, everyone can see this is 2 women, I love this film and the story is of a women that never aged and stays 29yrs old for 8decades from a freak car accident and an electrical storm, she leaves every home after a few years so never to be found out and that includes her fiance to be which is Harrison Fords Character, decades later she meets a man and falls in love and he introduces her to his parents, which turns out his father is Harrison Ford, he is stunned and mesmorized by his sons girlfriend Adaline the women he once loved who left him, she tells him that was her mother who has now passed away as decades have passed and she has not aged, but he knows this is not true and some how this is Adaline which she ends up later confessing to him, but there is a happy ending for Adaline and this is a very good film👍🏼
But she didn’t have her there her entire life 😢 Adeline had to hide since they tried to lock her up in a government lab. They were separated for so many years and finally able to reconnect when anyone who was a threat was gone but now their time together is so short 😭
Ir depends of what type of relationship you have with your mother. In my case I loved my mother, she died two years ago and I miss her everyday, she died young and couldn't meet her grandson. So yeah, I would love have my mother forever with me
Interesting. This actress has played another role as an aged daughter of a parent who stayed young by unnatural means. The other movie is Interstellar.
Our own subconscious or sentimental feelings or sense of duty can do that even when our parents are deceased. Not necessarily a bad thing but needs to be recognized within ourselves
Firstly, what nerve! That 'man' is renowned AND well respected ACTRESS Ellen Burstyn. Secondly I need to see this movie its called The Age of Adaline,(2015) it does look like a good movie, from the clips(and the trailer) I've seen.
When I first watched this, I felt finally something tells me that it could relate how it's so tiring not being able to 'grow older' and people treating you way younger than you are just becuase they see you look that young. Constant "You look so much younger than your age" became an insult or an awful reminder oh how incapable i am for growth than it was a compliment. And like her, noticing white hair growing is such a happiness
I went on a personal journey back in 2015. Quit my job. Blew all the money I had. Traveled the US and ended up in Arizona. Saw my mom’s family as my mom passsed when I was a teen. I tried so hard to go find her and deal with my past…. I ended up losing people I loved in the present. Seeing this film…. It would have been too painful. I’m glad I didn’t find exactly what I was looking for, but got what I needed. 💙. Fabulous scene.
Not all languages use pronouns the same way as English. It’s difficult to learn if it’s not their first language. It doesn’t necessarily mean they assume one was a man. ‘He’ and ´his’ is often used universally, to refer to all people. Or, it might be AI titles or rage bait for engagement (…in which case it’s working on you)
Is anyone else noticing that the mother is being selfish and controlling? The daughter has a right to move to where she feels safe and happy and not have to deal with stairs, the end of many a life.
Nothing controlling yet. Imagine you did some preparations for someone, and that someone suddenly does controvercial something, that you wasn't prepared for. Would you hold yourself even from a small question? It's not easy, no, not at all
The mother was being caring and was not controlling. She was being practical too by moving close to her daughter who she had to watch grow old to take care of her. This is a healthy relationship between mother and daughter. She was even subtle with the daughter.
The belief that you know what's best never goes away when you're a parent and it's not always easy to let go of. Also, the maturation process is very reliant on experiences you have as you go through the various stages of life. Adaline has been deprived of many of those typically age-related experiences because, aside from chronologically, she hasn't aged in the way a person normally would.
😞 oh, this is so sad, I would be heartbroken if I saw my daughter grow older because the thought behind it is you lose them and move on like Adeline, you watch the people you love pass while you remain. No parent should have to see their baby die no matter how old they are. I watched my grandmother lose her oldest daughter, my aunt. She would tell me about her when my aunt was a baby, the songs she sang for her, and her Christmases as a child.
@@Altinget well no, because the film is about a woman who never ages. So that makes sense. But she has a daughter not a son. There's literally no man in this movie who calls her mother.
I totally get the fear of falling. My house has carpeted stairs, so it's very easy to slip on the edges. I've fallen a few times and i'm only 18. Hurt my back one time, and another time almost broke my toe. My mum fell once too and hit her head twice on her way down. Thankfully she was ok, but she had red hairdye on and left a stain on the wall, which was a real fright for a few seconds. Now we have a dog too and he likes to go up and down the stairs with us. My mum said she tripped on him and almost fell once
It was so sad how she saw her little girl grow old and could be with her most of her life. This movie is precious and beautiful

Well, there’s the problem.
