Morbid Saints Spectrum of Death also still kicks asses ! Love it! As Dagon from Inquisition put it: Without Thrash, high gain amplifiers wouldnt exist. Without Thrash, the evolution of even more brutal styles like Death and Black Metal wouldnÄt have been possible, so give Thrash the proper respect, even when it doesn't flourish that much today any more (except for a few bands).

I actually feel that way about the first four Sepultura albums, (making Slayer sound like hard rock). These guys? Are great, heavy, but they don't touch Slayer...... not with songs like Angel of Death, War Ensemble, Spirit in Black, Hell Awaits, Ghosts of War just to name a few. At Dawn They Sleep

I do not agree. I love Sadus, but what you say doesn't make sense... it's not a competition to see who's the baddest. Furthermore, I think that Slayer exudes violence (musical I mean...) even when they play mid-tempos... but also when they drink coffee probably. And so are Sadus, but I haven't heard a mid-tempo of them yet!!!!
Still to this day one of the face-smashingest thrash albums known to man. The production isn't great, and they weren't the tightest sounding band at the time, but for sheer viciousness without devolving into a noisy mess, you can't beat this shit.

Its raw and technical death thrash. It was supposed to be the way it is. Not nice and neat like some major label recording. This isn't for people who listen to Gojira, Lamb of God, Slipknot, and or other shit bands that pollute the landscape.

Have to agree, a ferocious album. Fuck me, i recall getting a demo tape from this lot yonks back. Now, there's plenty of newer bands that i think are nothing short of brilliant and as fast and heavy as fuck, from the late 90's to today, but i have to say, that the most intense thrash albums, are the earlier ones. Perhaps it was my era, and it was kinda new to me circa 84, but i haven't heard that energy surpassed. This is as extreme as anything to this day. If this came out today, it would STILL sound fucking awesome..!

Yea, FEROCITY !!!!!!!!!! One of the best thrash albums ever!
Its raw and technical death thrash. It was supposed to be the way it is. Not nice and neat like some major label recording. This isn't for people who listen to Gojira, Lamb of God, Slipknot, and or other shit bands that pollute the landscape.
This is my first time hearing it, but I immediately can say the drum sound combined with the bass is very very good.

Have to agree, a ferocious album. Fuck me, i recall getting a demo tape from this lot yonks back.
Now, there's plenty of newer bands that i think are nothing short of brilliant and as fast and heavy as fuck, from the late 90's to today, but i have to say, that the most intense thrash albums, are the earlier ones. Perhaps it was my era, and it was kinda new to me circa 84, but i haven't heard that energy surpassed. This is as extreme as anything to this day.
If this came out today, it would STILL sound fucking awesome..!
A lot of bands play fast, but it doesn't SOUND fast if you get what I'm saying, blastbeats all the time give you no sense of dynamics.
