Congrats again on the engagement. Loved the repurposed old Folger's can in the still life. I have a couple just like that that are full of my dad's old pipes. It's what he used to store all of them in his van and garage.
Thanks Matt.
My dad did the same thing. One was full of Michelob Ultra bottle caps and some others stored various things. I don’t drink coffee but I guess I’ll have to start or just use his old ones 🖤
Dude that photo of Rich in his garage with the overhead light is incredibly compelling. I’d urge you to consider including it in your book. It just pulled me in instantly. Such a great use of available light.
Thank you sir. The good think about social media is differing opinions. I will probably have to look back with fresh eyes when it comes time to sit down and sequence.
love the photos!
Thank you Willem. Made my day seeing this 🖤
Congrats buddy! Welcome to the club :)
Happy to be here. Thank you!
Congrats on the engagement Bryan! Your digital photos are 🔥. I would like to see more.
Thank you Leo!
Congrats on the engagement! And thank you for speaking out about the damaging effects of NFTs.
Thank you Nuno!
Congrats Bryan!! wishing u all the best
Appreciate it!
Congratualations on your engagement. Great video as always.
Thank you Maurice!
Congrats on your engagement!
100% agree with you on the NFT stuff, its the right and responsible call.
Thank you Andrew!
Hell yeah, Birks.
Hell yeah, stranly.
Respect!
Congratulations on the engagement. Thanks for briefly showing American Mirror, I went out and purchased it looks grand. Have a great weekend.
It is a lovely book!
@@BryanBirks it looks grand, hopefully it'll be a good insight to the USA for someone from the UK. Cheers Bryan
Congrats on your engagement man! For some reason I thought you were already engaged so when Maya told me you'd gotten engaged I was like "wot, he's been engaged for ages silly". Turns out I was wrong ahaha, so congrats!
Also really dig that still life and the headshot of Rich, which is stellar, his expression is that perfect neutral but not boring that the best portraits have, and the hat/glasses add a bunch of character too!
Maybe you were getting my life confused with Ross from "Friends." But thank you Will. Maybe a honeymoon in South Africa??? Who knows.
@@BryanBirks Heeeeeeell yeah, at the very least there's a sleeper couch ready for ya around these parts ahaha!
Congrats and thank you on amazing video!
Thank you Igor!
Firstly, congratulations on your engagement. Secondly, I have so much respect and admiration for your approach to your videos (and their overall quality). Thirdly, your photographs are simply good. The pictures, and way you talk about your project and reviewing them, is such a refreshing contrast to the normal “popular” photography channels you find here.
Thank you Richard. That is very nice to hear. Appreciate the support 🤘🏻
Congrats on the engagement dude! Also, I think those detail shots will really help convey the story you're trying to tell
Thank you sir. Wish I would have been taking those types of photos from the beginning but you live and learn!
Congrats!
Cheers!
Congrats to you and the future Mrs.! Thanks for another honest video of solid content.
Thank you Bob. Appreciate your support 🤘🏻
Congratulations!!
Thanks dude ✌🏻
Congrats Bryan! Lovely photos as usual.
Thank you very much 🖤
Huge congrats brother. So happy for you guys. Beautiful video as always
Thank you very much Thomas 🖤
Congrats to you both :) Beautiful video and images man
Thank you very much Sathya!

Thank you 🖤
Congratulations on your engagement, Bryan. You're producing great photographs. Looking forward to following the project.
Thank you very much. 🖤
Congrats and wishing every happiness in the future
Thank you very much Chris 🖤
Congrats Bryan! Sometimes the freedom and ease of digital is a nice escape from film for a bit.
For sure. Thank you!
Congrats man!
Thank you! 🖤
Congratulations on the engagment man! Love that engagement shot in mexico!
Thank you Asher!
So glad you’re speaking out about NFTs. It’s so damaging for the environment and is impacting people across the globe with rising energy costs and pollution.
The more I learn the more I don't like it but it will probably be the last time I mention anything about it because I can't keep up with people snapping back against my valid critiques. It isn't worth the time and energy anymore. Too many people are adopting it and going straight for the high dollar stuff which hurts the planet the most. I guess we will see how it plays out.
@@BryanBirks I definitely get it. People try that stuff with me too. You’re doing the right thing, though. And you’ve got to look out for your mental health too. Looking forward to more videos and photography in 2022!
You're right short term, but with Ethereum 2.0 coming in the next few months this won't be an issue anymore. But I agree with you on the community aspect, everybody is "fake positive" and it sucks... i hope this will change soon!
ETH 2.0 has been promised for how many years? I’m not counting on that anytime soon.
First of all Congrats on the engagement Thank you for speaking about the environmental impact of NFTs and the damage. We take so much for granted but in the end real people will have to pay for this.
Thank you!
The attitude is “I’ll get mine because everyone else is.” If everyone thought that the world would have turned to shit 20 years ago instead of 20 years from now.
Congratulations! We welcome you to the married (almost) club.
Heck yeah. Love clubs.
Thanks for bringing awareness about NFTs man, we can't be selfish just to have a couple of extra hundreds in out wallets. or to feel good about our art. and congrats for the engagement😁😁
It is a very touchy subject these days. I am glad to be passed the idea of thinking about doing them. Lol thanks for the kind words!
Congratulations to both of you! I'm 100% with you on NFTs.
🙌🏻
Happy for you Both 🖖
Photo project will come together 👍
It just takes Time 😄
Thanks Stuart!
Ah yes time…that old minx
Congrats on your engagement. I hope you'll both be happy and healthy.
Thank you George. Cheers!
You are awesome
You are more awesome.
Lovely content once again, congrats on the engament! 😊
Thank you Julian ✌🏻

Thanks Nelson. I’ll have to take a good look in a couple weeks or months and see if I like it more.
For what it is worth, your portraits are outstanding. In a perfect world, where money doesn't matter, I'd love to see a book out of the People and Their Classic Cars project. Add some prose too, since you have a gift of story telling.
A book is definitely coming. When? No clue. I am in between on whether or not to include some writings. I like it but most of the books I have are wordless.
Felicidades hermano! Best wishes to you and your fiancé. Loved Rich's portrait btw. Lots of definition with the one-sided lighting.
Thank you compadre!
Congrats to you both!
Good choice to just take digital, that’s what I opt for for on a family trip… well maybe sneak a 35mm in there too :)
Thank you! Yes, digital is leagues better on a family trip. They would never understand setting up a shot for 20 minutes while walking around downtown. Lmao
I think the lumix with the 35mm was a great choice to take on vacation. 35 is so utile for almost any situation
I definitely enjoy it compared to the 105mm on the Pentax which is around a 50mm on full frame. Just too tight for most situations.
@@BryanBirks it is a bit limiting for landscape though and I ask myself is a 28 couldn’t do that as well
Sorry if I'm forcing you to engage in more NFT talk, but since you implied you may be interested once it gets more sustainable I thought I'd mention Hedera as the better ecosystem than Ethereum for minting and burning NFTs for that very reason. Not only are they faster and more efficient (it uses a Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) for its architecture rather than a blockchain. Two advantages, no proof of work is necessary, no problem of ever increasing need for more and more storage capacity and a higher bandwidth as chains grow), they are also carbon negative and purchase carbon offsets on a quarterly basis
I've heard of that. I don't have any problem discussing them but if you bring up any critique or con to anyone involved in them they automatically think you're against them as a person. The problem is that I would want to make money with them and no one is going to be invested in Hedera to purchase my work. That is why the whole idea of current NFTs being tied down to ETH is ridiculous. It shows you quickly that it isn't about the work or the artist but about the coin.
Some really excellent references in a Stephen Shore photo book called "American Surfaces" -- Think you may dig if you haven't seen it already!
I will have to check it out!
Yea people are getting into NFTs to make a quick buck. I think the technology is fascinating however and I don't see it going away, just evolving. I hope we can see more blockchain technologies that are less damaging on the environment like Theta. Anyhow I'm with you and not getting into it for the time being. I have the same gripes when shooting film and knowing the chemicals, plastic etc that go into it. I guess it's striking that balance between being an artist and enjoying a craft whilst doing what you can for a better world
Agreed. Everything is wasteful. Me wiping my mouth to get rid of crumbs is wasteful. For me, it's the fact that NFTs are so unbelievably useless in the art world aside from profit that it makes zero sense to destroy the planet even more in the name of them. Boggles my mind how many people can look past that to make some money.
Watch out for the blockchain bros they will come for you
They just mute you. Out of sight, out of mind. Can’t be critiqued if you can’t see them.
Congratulations! Also Bryan you are way too hard on yourself with hiting focus perfectly every time and saying your composition is shit etc. The story you're telling is what matters. Yes spot on focus is important but it doesn't take away from your story, well not for me anyway. Please stop punishing yourself and own your mistakes. Mistakes happen it doesn't mean it was a shit photo. Imagine never having gone out at all and met these people that would be way shitter! I love your videos keep at it and keep telling stories.
I come off way harder than I actually am. Haha yes I do take it seriously though and I think that’s part of the reason I was able to progress so much in two years. Somewhere in between lies a happy middle ground that I’m trying to find. One day maybe.
