Lived in Blackpool for 45 years and never ever been in there to dine. Food looks lovely and may just have to pop in and try one day. Great video as always Jane and keep up the great work
I didn't think they would have fish on the menu, thought it was just pasta dishes, that's surprised me😊I'm sure homer will be back in your garden soon, I love seagulls, they are so intelligent and such a beautiful bird ❤
Thanks for the video Jane, i do like watching you go to various places for your lunch on fridays, it looked very nice, i would have liked a sauce on the fish and no peppers for me, price wise a little steep, but sea bass is not cheap, but you had a lovely meal 😊
That looked delicious Jane, as you said, really fresh, & I do love how honest you are, about cooking it 😂.... Much the same as me 😅.... Seemingly in England it's the law now for restaurants to have the calories on the menu, I only know this as we liked going to a Marston's & they have it on their menu here, but it's because it's an English company, it will eventually come to Scotland for all restaurants, but not quite here yet. Thanks again for your fab video! Really enjoyed that, was drooling at the mouth 😅🤤😁❤
It's only restaurants of a certain size - chains and such like. The smaller ones and independents don't put them on. I do like to know what I'm having and it does help me to make a better choice. Maybe if they tried harder to offer meals that wouldn't sink a ship it would help!
I must say Jane that meal looked delicious, you chose well. Makes a welcome change from the usual boring spag bol, lasagne and garlic bread ! Very healthy too, although just one little niggle, those beans seemed positively raw ? X
I feel really out of touch because its a long time since I've eaten out. Your meal looked lovely but I can't get my head around the prices they charge in restaurants and cafes these days, I agree you get what you pay for but twenty one pound to me is a bit steep for one meal with a soda. You can buy a pack of two tender sea bass in Asda for five pound so I'm not getting why your meal was so expensive, As I say I haven't eaten out in a long time so I'm really out of step with what places charge these days,
The cost of the ingredients is probably the cheapest bit of a meal out these days. The overheads are what make everything expensive and they can be eye watering. From rent and business rates, through to heating/lighting/cooking costs, plus wages, National Insurance (which has just gone up), pensions, sick pay, buildings insurance, a hundred other things and even the license to play music in the premises. EVERYTHING has a cost and it's all factored into the price of your meal.
£21.48 is extortionate for what was there. I think I could cook it to the same level for maybe £4 (there weren't many different ingredients on there) at most, so I wouldn't expect to pay more than £10 or £11 for that meal. Don't mean to sound unappreciative of the video btw, as I always look forward to them :) I think my problem is that I'm spoilt by learning how to cook fairly well by my ex partner, and so expect the dining experience to be better than what I can do at home.
Potatoes and fish? Can't think of anything worse in an Italian restaurant Jane. Spag bol or a lasagne at least, bit of garlic bread possibly...but spuds and fish? It's like going into Greggs and ordering the vegan sausage roll and soya milk smoothie. Must try harder🤣you're killing me here Jane. You never seen this shit on a full box set of The Sopranos
Oh please, there’s more to Italian food than spag Bol and lasagne, in fact, I bet most Italians don’t touch the stuff, so boring and run of the mill. That ‘fish and potatoes’ as you called it was a proper tasty, well presented Italian meal. You sound like a bit of a philistine, open up your taste buds.
Ha ha. I quite like both - spag bol & lasagne - although you don't want to be eating spaghetti on a video! Actually just this week I had a vegan sausage roll from Greggs and it was lovely - barely any different from their usual ones. 😄

They were crunchy but I like them like that. It made a nice contrast in texture too because everything else was quite soft.
Had a meal there in the late 1990s
Bet not filmed today as would been blown away😊
Afternoon that looks really lovely presented nice your hair looks lovely have you had it cut? It’s not badly priced really till the next one 😊
I've had it coloured and trimmed but not changed much. Looking at that thumbnail I think I ought to have it lopped off!
Did you go to marks and Spencer for your tea or sandwich's for tea boy and tea boy in training
No, we did that the day before!

The beans were Al Dente
Sorry Jane I don't like tomatoes
Who mentioned tomatoes? The red things are sweet pepper :-)
😂😂
