is a song influenced by American disco,
after the success of the Bee Gees and the movie 'Saturday night fever" from the year before
In this song you can see part of the volume and range of voice that the blonde singer Agnetha has
ABBA was preparing their 1979 Tour of America and Europe,
in the previous one , They recorded this song and filmed the official video

granting them share the credits)
Surely for the latter, with more than 400 million views,
this is the second official ABBA video with the most views on RUclips
(behind "Dancing Queen", which has more than 750 million views)
and also for this last reason, surely
"Gimme gimme gimme (a man after midnight)"
is much more popular now than in its time
when it was released it was #3 in the UK, it wasn't even released in the US
now also a centerpiece at the new ABBA Voyage concerts in London
Another interesting date is that these is one of songs that ABBA recorded in spanish:
"Dame Dame Dame" (1980) and ABBA performed it in an interview to Spanish TV

Yes it was so short. Somehow, almost NO ONE manages to check the length of the song they're reacting to, with the track length. This is a radio/TV edit, not the studio version which has a great instrumental.
Another great dance track even better with the original version with the instrumental break.
¡Dame!DameDame!(Amor Esta Noche) ..................was the Spanish version recorded by ABBA.
I prefer the backing track of the Spanish version cause Michael Tretrow enriched and gave some more depth in the instrumentation especially focusing to the killer keyboard riff.IIt sounds 'doubled' .I instantly recognize the difference from the first notes of the intro without needing to wait for the singing.

The track is longer on the album. They cut out the instrumental break. You'd have to listen to the album cut to hear the full version.

That was the short version, the original version is much longer.
The album version, and I think the new lyric video (I think they did one), have a fantastic choral interlude that is sorely missing here.
