Currently sitting at my desk while studying in Japan and the temptation is high.
I would like to study in Japan, can you give me any advice?? I won’t have an exchange of anything so trying to figure out how a Japan university would take me on 🤔 It’s a huge dream of mine that I’d like to make a reality 😊 Hope your studies are going well! ☺️☺️
@@abbitelford6814 Hey sorry I wrote a reply to this yesterday but evidently it didn't go through properly. I'll see if I can remember what I wrote
Studies are going well thanks :) Been here for two months now. The country is beautiful and the food and music is amazing. I am studying in the Japanese program here and am lucky enough to be here on an exchange with my College back in Canada which has helped a ton with the funding and tuition costs. Most I have met are also on an exchange but I think there are some who applied directly though the school website. Tuition works out a lot more expensive that way so you might have to look around for a university the offers lower fees. If you are like me, I am less interested in the education anyway and more in immersing in the culture and working on myself in which case I'm sure you could find somewhere.
I would say the main advantage of studying here as opposed to traveling was the ease of getting accommodation through the school. Of course it also brought a lot of international students together and there are clubs and stuff so it's great from a social and cultural integration perspective too. I can only speak to the quality of my university so I won't bother cause they may differ a lot. If I were to come back though I would either backpack around or come as a teacher.
Since I came through my university I can't offer any specific advice on applying but if you have any other questions you can shoot me a message on Instagram @_Joe.porter or I can give you my email.
Cheers,
Positive energy overload! Thanks for making my day better.
This is exactly the kind of course I want! Thanks Ryan and Gavin I'll purchase as soon as I have enough money 😀
When I saw you were the teacher in this I signed up right away. This is going to be great, thanks so much for making this.
Picked this up while it’s on intro. Looks awesome. Hoping to spend some time on an upcoming sabbatical. Love the idea of integrating the story and artwork of Otoe into the course.
Honestly really interested in this! Thanks dude! 😁

will it go on sale past $30 off?
You really got me there with anime music.
This is a great idea! Of course, I want to learn the style of Yuki Kajiura, Junichi Nakatsuru and Kenichiro Suehiro. Will definitely check this course out though, might help put those Tokyo Scoring Strings to better use!
I love the art ❤
Do one for show tunes, Broadway, musicals, and cartoons
Very cool!
The gods smile on me this day
This is awesome. I know what my fathers day present should be 😂
When I saw Gavin joining Master the Codew I knew this was gonna happen
Does anyone know how to get the student discount?
Im thinking about writing music for our dnd session, would you think this would fit? im also thinking about studying music in college, would this help?
What would you guys say is the best DAW for Scoring Music and like real composing stuff?
I wanna get into that, but I feel FL Studio is better for Hip Hop Production etc. (What I'm currently focusing on)
Every DAW pretty much does the same thing. I have abelton even though Logic is pretty much the industry standard for film score. Bottom line though is if you want the DAW to work you’ll make it work. I haven’t seen someone import video to FL studio before so that might be the only barrier if you can’t do that, it be best to look that up(although even garage band does that so i dont see why FL wouldn’t). Anyways, any form of music making is “real composition stuff” and you can achieve the same sounds in every DAW. Never buy new programs or sounds until you have concrete proof that what you want to achieve sonically is not possible with what you currently have or you have concrete evidence that the workflow in another program is more efficient than youre current one. Id study the hell out of that FL studio manual and learn every in and out of the program before spending hundreds of dollars on a new one.
the film importing stuff is precisely what I mean, also a lot of people I know who produce hip hop prefer to do melodies and that stuff in logic and drum programming in fl

Reaper is not the friendliest of programs but it can do what you need it to if you don't mind doing a bit of research.
The free trial is 30 days but they don't stop you from using the program once it expires. Even then it is a very cheap program.
Works good as a low barrier to entry but there are also professionals who claim to still use it. I still use it myself and works fine for what I need.
