  • Jewish Feasts and their Prophetic Meanings, Spring Jewish Holidays and the First Coming of Christ - Feasts Study Part 1
    God provided ancient Israel a prophetic picture of His plan of salvation through the Biblical Jewish holidays. There are seven feasts in the Jewish festival system which occur during the spring and fall harvests. God built the Holy Days around the seasons, so nature would remind his people of this pattern. In this Bible study we’ll take a close look at the 7 Jewish feast days and their prophetic significance to discover greater truth of how the spring Jewish holidays point to the first coming of Christ and fall feasts point to the second coming of Christ (Day of Atonement). There is one overlooked feature of the Jewish festival system and that is the summer months. While there were no feasts celebrated during the summer months, this period points us to an important prophetic truth and demonstrates to us what happened during the time between Christ’s first coming and before His second coming. This study will unpack the Jewish feasts and their prophetic meanings and give you the prophetic framework of God’s plan of salvation. In addition, you’ll see how close we are to the second coming of Christ. The LORD Jesus Christ wants His people eagerly waiting and ready for His return! #AngelsintheGlen #BibleStudy #BookofDaniel #RevelationExplained #endtimes #bibleprophecy

    Wonderful teaching! I wrote a document on this and was told by Christians that it was too deep! To add to what you've taught, just as the Israelites were not allowed to touch the First Fruits barley until the offerings had been brought to the temple, and shaken over the altar of fire to God, is the exact reason Jesus told Mary at the tomb, not to touch Him yet, directly proceeding His resurrection. He had not yet ascended to God and the Heavenly temple, to complete the First Fruits offering to fulfill Lev 23:9-14. To go deeper, a sheaf is a "bundle," this is the reason other saints rose with Jesus, making a bundle instead of just one. I'm definitely subscribing to your channel...I love learning the deeper mysteries of God! Thank you sir!

    What you miss is the Holy Spirit application. For instance, in John where Jesus said He would send the Holy Spirit (helper), Jesus wasn’t talking to us He was talking to His disciples. You mentioned being careful of applications. Is God’s word not the power? “When you read this, you can perceive my insight into the mystery of Christ,” my point is that does the HS operate outside the revealed word?

    Blessings, I have a question regarding this topic you're on now regarding the day Jesus died. As He said in His word in Matthew 12:40 that He will be in the heart of the earth 3 days and 3 night. How can it be that He died on the Friday?

    • @AngelsintheGlen
      @AngelsintheGlen  Год назад

      The way ancient Israel counted a day is that any portion of a day was considered a full day. This is called inclusive reckoning. This is not how Western minds think of time. We naturally think of a full 24 hours to count a complete day. Not ancient Israel. A partial day would be counted as a full day. Hence, any portion of Friday would be counted a full day. All day Saturday would obviously be considered a full day, and a portion of Sunday would be considered a full day. This is true for both day and night and this is how it was understood to them during that time. They considered it three days and three nights even though we don't mathematically calculate it the same way in our modern era.

    I am a little confused, you said that the 2300 days means years, however it says it was morning and it was evening, the same as it says in Genesis when God created the earth and the Heavens. He says that there was morning and there was evening, one day, and not one year. I would presume that when morning and evening are mentioned it is one day and when only day is mentioned then it is one year. Otherwise there is a clash.

    • @AngelsintheGlen
      @AngelsintheGlen  Год назад

      Please consider watching our Daniel 1 videos where we explain the day-year principle when interpreting end-time prophecies. That is, all of the prophecies in Daniel and Revelation that are expressed in either days (evenings and mornings), weeks, or months, must be interpret using the day-year principle. A day in Bible prophecy equals a literal year. A week (7 days) in Bible prophecy equals 7 years. 2300 evenings and mornings equal 2300 literal years.
      One of the main reasons is that much of end-time prophecies in Daniel and Revelation are all conveyed using symbols. For example, in Daniel 7, beasts are actually kingdoms, horns are kings, etc. As such, the time prophecies are also symbolic and must be interpreted as literal years.
      Please consider watching our entire series in Daniel. We explain all the details of how to let the Bible interpret the Bible. God wants His people to know what must take place before Christ returns.

    There might be a reason why a heavenly sanctuary needs to be anointed and why thus has to happen in a certain time frame (though I think all these requirements highly unlikely) ... but there is absolutely no reason why a heavenly sanctuary needs to be "restored". If it's in heaven, it's safe.
    PS. The problem with working only with a single translation is that some things get lost, including the fact that the word translated as "most holy place" is ambiguous. The Hebrew doesn't say place at all. It could just as well be a "most holy" person.

    • @AngelsintheGlen
      @AngelsintheGlen  3 года назад

      Don’t forget that sin started in heaven with Lucifer and in the Most Holy Place. See Ezekiel 28.
      Also, Hebrews 8:1-6 show us that there is a Heavenly Sanctuary that Christ ministers in. It is the true tabernacle that provided the pattern for the earthly sanctuary. Just as the earthly sanctuary needed to be cleansed on the day of Atonement, so to the heavenly has its cleansing phase/period. The earthly provides the pattern. Let’s discuss this idea a bit more.
      In the earthly sanctuary the priests ministered each day in the Holy Place to provide atonement for the people. This was how they were forgiven. See Numbers 4, 5, and 6. However, once a year the High Priest went into the Most Holy Place (and by himself) to wipe out their record of sins. The people would be cleansed from their sins. See Leviticus 16:29-30.
      Leviticus 16:29-30 (NASB) 29 "This shall be a permanent statute for you: in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall humble your souls and not do any work, whether the native, or the alien who sojourns among you; 30 for it is on this day that atonement shall be made for you to cleanse you; you will be clean from all your sins before the LORD.
      In Leviticus 16, The High Priest sprinkles the blood on the mercy seat to cleanse the sins of the people. This was the final judgment and cleansing of the sins of the people. It happened on the day of atonement, the most holy day of the year, in the Most Holy Place of the sanctuary. Even though the sins of the people were forgiven previously through the ministry of the priests, the High Priest must cleanse it on the day of atonement.
      In the same way, our High Priest Jesus Christ, after His ascension, ministered in the Holy Place and intercedes for us daily. We need the living Christ in our lives continually. However, based on the prophecies in Daniel, His ministry in the Holy Place is complete and Christ has now moved to the Most Holy Place to wipe out all records of sin and cleanse it with His own blood. Please don’t misunderstand our point. On the cross, Christ paid in full the sin debt for the entire world. All of the sins of the world were atoned for at the cross. Everything is complete on the cross. Forgiveness is complete in Christ at the cross. We are justified before God by Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection.
      However, just as sins went into the sanctuary in the earthly tabernacle, so did they in the heavenly. There is a record of our sins. While Christ paid for those sins at the altar, i.e. the cross, which also functioned as the great day of atonement for all the world, the heavenly sanctuary would need to be cleansed of those sins. The cleansing of the heavenly sanctuary is the final judgment phase where all cases are decided. The cleansing will permanently eradicate our sins from the universe. It’s important to understand that our sins were paid for on the cross however, the final judgement, ie. determining everyone’s eternal destiny and the eradication of sin is the phase that Christ began at the end of the 2300 evenings and mornings (ie. 2300 literal years). We explain this in our Daniel 8 and 9 videos.
      Notice Hebrews 9:23 (NASB) 23 Therefore it was necessary for the copies of the things in the heavens to be cleansed with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
      In addition, the church on earth is connected to the heavenly Jerusalem through the cross of Christ. We, God’s people, are part of the heavenly Jerusalem. See Galatians 4:26, Hebrews 12:22 and Philippians 3:20. They all demonstrate our connection with heavenly Jerusalem.
      Galatians 4:26 (NASB) 26 But the Jerusalem above is free; she is our mother.
      Hebrews 12:22 (NASB) 2 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, 23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, 24 and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel.
      Philippians 3:20 (NASB) 20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;
      In Galatians 4:26, Jerusalem “above” means heavenly Jerusalem. This is made clear in Hebrews 12:22 where we find that Christians are “enrolled” in the heavenly Jerusalem. Phil 3:20 also points out our citizenship in heaven.
      While we might not be physically present in heaven but we are citizens and enrolled in it.
      Our names and the records of our lives are contained in books in heaven and the final judgment is taking place. See Daniel 7:10-11.
      Daniel 7:10-11 (NASB) 9 "I kept looking Until thrones were set up, And the Ancient of Days took His seat; His vesture was like white snow And the hair of His head like pure wool. His throne was ablaze with flames, Its wheels were a burning fire. 10 "A river of fire was flowing And coming out from before Him; Thousands upon thousands were attending Him, And myriads upon myriads were standing before Him; The court sat, And the books were opened.
      Notice books are open. The judgement is taking place as we speak. If you’re not familiar with the time prophecies of Daniel 7, 8, and 9, please see our comprehensive series on the book of Daniel at the link below. We demonstrate when each of the time prophecies began and ended in history. We demonstrate that the final judgment is happening as we speak. As soon as this phase of the judgment is complete, Christ will return for His people without any record or reference to sin. See Hebrews 9:28.
      Hebrews 9:28 (NASB) 28 so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.
      There is much more to say on the topic and you can critically evaluate it for your self at the link below.

      The cleansing of the sanctuary is necessary because the record of our sins are lodged there ( book of iniquity) . See the sanctuary in the Old Testament is a pattern of heavenly things (as it is written ) . The cleansing of the sanctuary refers to the day of atonement , or the judgement .

      Jesus was nailed to the cross at the same time as the morning sacrifice was being tied to the altar. He died at the moment the priests was sacrificing the final sacrifice of the day. Hi Chris, that is an excellent question and which has been debated throughout the centuries. A couple of things to think about. Remember that the Jewish day starts on the eve of the night before. For example I am writing this at 3:30 on Friday afternoon 1 April. When the sun goes down tonight it would be considered 15 April. Saturday evening after the sun goes down it would be considered 16 April. Having this understanding can help get your head around the time that Jesus spent on the cross and in the grave. So here is my understanding....
      Remembering that he is on the biblical calendar and not the Gregorian calendar. The feasts are always on the same date each year.
      1. Jesus sits down on 14 Nissan ( Wednesday after sunset so really our Thursday) He eats the Passover meal. He is arrested at midnight and early Thursday morning 6am he is put on the cross ( this is the time of the first temple sacrifice) Now this is where I am not sure how the whole thing works . The morning 6am and evening 2:30 pm sacrifices were offered everyday of the year. I don’t know enough yet to say whether they could be considered a Passover sacrifice......still learning!
      Studying the levitical sacrifices will help you to begin to get an understanding, also read the gospels take on it as the story tends to vary a little between the writers.
      Investigate the Feasts of the Lord ( at least Passover and Unleavened Bread). Very prophetic!!!!
      And read Exodus 12 etc. night of the first born, first Passover and so forth
      Also check out the following teachers.....you need a Messianic perspective on this to truly get the gist......
      Mark Biltz Feasts of the Lord......an old series but it was the one that got me started on a whole amazing understanding of the bible.
      119 ministries. Was the last supper a Passover meal
      And Lex Meyer Was the last supper a Passover meal or not?
      You may not agree with everything they say , but it will definitely get you thinking and hopefully provide some clarity to your enquiry.
      I know I have not answered your question but hopefully given you something to think about. I am not a scholar by any means....just mum who loves Gods word.
      Enjoy the journey.

    May I say one thing on these feasts you call Jewish? They are not Jewish feast days. I apologize, I don't mean any disrespect, but scripture says that they are feast of the LORD. Only the LORDS feast.....many believers in Christ celebrate these feast days. They are GODS calendar and apply to all who know him and want to remember the feast days, which are signs and season's, as now the fall feast days point us to the second coming of Messiah. Thank you for all your videos and teachings, I am such a fan of Angels in the Glen. Sincerely,

      Thank you for your comment and thank you for your support! We really appreciate it!
      No need to apologize! We can see the sincerity of your comment and we really appreciate it.
      However, we should take this time to provide some clarity on this topic. Some of our readers might be confused.
      First, the Christian today, in the New Covenant, is free in Christ to hold a celebration or special gathering in remembrance of the Jewish Feasts of the Old Covenant. We will explain why we say “Jewish Feasts of the Old Covenant” in a moment.
      As Christians, we need to be circumspect as to how we remember the feasts of the Old Covenant because there is nothing in the New Covenant that requires Christians to observe the feasts (however, we will talk about the Lord’s supper).
      Nevertheless, at the same time, there is nothing in the New Covenant that precludes anyone from celebrating or remembering the Old Testament Jewish Feasts.
      Why do we say this?
      First, Christ, at the cross, put an end to sacrifice and grain offerings in Daniel 9:27. Daniel 9:27 is the transition point between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant. Sacrifices of lambs, goats, bulls, and grain offerings ceased. We need to underscore the point that ALL the feasts required either a sacrifice, e.g., lamb at Passover, or bull/goat at Day of Atonement or a grain offering, e.g. wave sheaf, new grain offering. See Leviticus 23. Indeed. The festival system ended at the Cross.
      Daniel 9:27 is part of the seventy weeks prophecy, the greatest prophecy in the whole of the Bible. Christ brings in everlasting righteousness at the Cross and ends the sacrificial and grain offerings system of the Old Covenant.
      In addition, this prophecy was exclusively for the ancient Jewish people. Notice at the beginning of the prophecy in Daniel 9:24…for your people and your holy city. This is talking about Daniel’s people, the Jewish nation and the city of Jerusalem. And we know that the seventy weeks prophecy ended for the Jewish people in 34 A.D.

      Second. The Jewish festival system cannot be recreated in the New Covenant because it required God’s people to appear before Him three times a year. See Exodus 23:14-19 and Deuteronomy 16. Notice in Deuteronomy 16:2, 6, 11, 15, and 16 that they were to sacrifice at the place where the LORD chooses to establish His name (v2, 6, 11), or where He chooses (v15, 16). The place where God established His name is referring to the Ten Commandments, placed in the ark of the covenant in the most holy place of the temple structure.
      Where would this be? Of course, once they entered the promised land, it would be in Jerusalem where His temple was established. In Exodus 23 they were simply commanded to appear before the LORD, which makes sense when they were in the wilderness.
      Obviously, Christians today are not commanded to travel to Jerusalem three times a year for the reasons given above and the reality that there is no temple in Jerusalem. The writer of Hebrews makes this clear in Hebrews 13:14 (NASB) For here we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come. That is, we must look to the heavenly Jerusalem in Hebrews 12:22.
      There are many more scriptures that we can point out, but here is our main point:
      There is nothing wrong if a Christian celebrates the remembrance of the Jewish Feasts of the Old Covenant during the time that they were established for ancient Israel. Christians are free in Christ in the New Covenant to remember those days and celebrate them as they are fulfilled in Christ. At the same time, Christians are not to promote, advocate, or require that the feasts be remembered. This is a personal choice. If one does not want to celebrate them, there is nothing in the New Covenant that requires them to do so. In either case, Christ give us freedom to choose. This is really our main point for any reader who might be confused about this topic.
      We are free in Christ to choose how we may or may not celebrate. And we should make this clear to our guests should we invite them over for a “Passover meal”.
      However, we are commanded by Christ to remember Him at the Lord’s Supper. See 1 Corinthians 11:23-33. Notice that there is no command to the frequency. Verse 26 simply states …”for as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.” This keeps alive our hope that Christ is coming again and reminds us of His great sacrificial death which ushered in the New Covenant.
      One last point. Christ will determine how the feasts will be observed in the new heavens and earth. In Matthew 26:29 (NASB) Christ says….”But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.” In addition, Isaiah 66:23 (NASB) talks about from new moon to new moon and sabbath to sabbath, all mankind will come to bow down before Me. It’s when the new heavens and the new earth are established that we will come to understand how Christ will manifest the festival system throughout eternity.
      Thanks so much for your comment. And we are so grateful for your support! God Bless.

      Thank you, and I did not expect such an in-depth answer but most appreciated, and I do agree as well to your complete explanation, especially for the new covenant church. I guess I did not explain myself as good as I could of but I was talking about the Old Testament only, where God said they are His feast, and it does say "feast of the Lord." As far as the new covenant, yes the fulfillment is Christ, and those feast days were a shadow of things to come, and the fullness is Christ alone. Whether old covenant or new covenant, they still are God's feast days, although the Jews mainly are the ones that celebrate it, as they wait for the Messiahs coming. I am not sure how they atone for sin as they have no temple or sacrifice... thank you again, and your message spot on. I am hoping one day you will do a study on the Sabbath day Old Covenant. Do we observe it, or is Jesus our Sabbath New Covenant????
      Be Blessed,

    These are the Lord's Feast not Jewish Feasts - Leviticus 23:1-2.

    The book of Daniel says Messiah was cut off in the middle of the week. Crucifixion was on Wednesday, BEFORE the passover that year. Wed to Thurs sundown, Thurs to Friday sundown, Friday to Saturday SUNDOWN. Messia was resurrected after sundown on Sabbath and BEFORE they came to the tomb Early Sunday Morning. The book of Genesis gives us literal 24 hour days. There was evening and there was morning the first day and so on. Also the last supper was NOT the passover meal. Greek scriptures tell us they ate Artone or Leavened bread at the last supper.

      Thanks for watching our video! And thanks for your comment. The middle of the week in Daniel 9:27 is in reference to a small portion of the of the entire seventy weeks prophecy of Daniel 9:24. It is a a prophetic week, not a literal week. That is, the seventy weeks prophecy is divided into seven (7) weeks, sixty-two (62) weeks, and a single (1) week. 7+62+1 = 70 (See Daniel 9:24-27) The seventy weeks are referring to prophetic weeks where a day equals one year. The passage is not talking about a literal 70 weeks (i.e. approx. 1 year and 4.5 months) but 70 prophetic weeks where there are 7 prophetic days in a week. This means that there are 70 x 7 prophetic days, which is 490 prophetic days. This means that there are 490 literal years. The prophecy is pointing to the first coming of the Messiah. We have 3 videos on Daniel 9 and cover all of this in the video; however, here is the very short answer: The beginning of the prophecy was in the fall of 457 B.C. Moving forward to the 69th week (i.e. 7 weeks and 62 weeks) would be the fall of 27 A.D. This is the beginning of Jesus’ ministry where He is baptized (we cover all this and more in the video). The last week (i.e. the 70th week) still needs to run it’s course. That is, another 7 literal years need to transpire before the end of the prophecy. With that backdrop, the “middle of the week” is the middle of the 7 years, i.e. 3.5 years. It is not talking about the middle of a literal week (i.e. Wednesday). Therefore, If you move 3.5 years from the time Jesus begins His ministry in the fall of 27 A.D., you come to the spring of 31 A.D. This is the crucifixion of the Messiah and being cut off in the middle of the prophetic week. In the video, we cover what also happens at the end of the latter portion of the week (i.e. 3.5 years).
      In summary, the middle of the week of Daniel 9:27 is the middle of a prophetic week (7 years) not a literal week.

    Yeshua is coming soon! I have no doubt anymore. However, I believe we make a mistake by setting a date of the Rapture, catching away or Second Coming in general. He is clear to say ' no one knows ' bang! it will happen. We WILL KNOW the season. I believe this clearly is the season!

      Thanks for watching our videos! Our entire series in Daniel and Revelation are to show from the Bible that we are currently in the last days. The season is right now. God wants His people to know exactly what must take place before Christ returns. The longest time prophecy in the Bible has been fulfilled. The next major event that will take place is the mark of the beast (see our Revelation 10,11,12, 13, and 14 videos). (we first recommend all of our Daniel videos to have the background and a solid foundation as everything builds upon another) A beast in Bible prophecy is a nation or kingdom, so the mark of the beast is the mark of a kingdom or nation. The Bible gives us clear answers. We explain what the mark is, why it is what it is, and how it is an attack against the eternal gospel of Christ. We are in the final season. Those who sincerely study the Bible will know this with confidence. It is not a time to fear but to be ready.
