Im probably one of the few people who actually loved the ending. The intro to the unmoored world was amazing and it fits the themes of the games very well. I also love how the ending showed you s glimpse of whats beyond but in the end youre still stuck in the endless cycle. I have a feeling this is setup for a potential dlc. I think there’s a lot of pieces missing from the story for example it feels like the elves were going to play a big part in the story if you look in the arborheart there’s a chair/throne like shape in it with smaller vines scattered all around it like someone or something is meant to sit on it. Also what is even the point in helping the arborheart grow back after you help it gets completely pushed aside just as queen disa and her plot.
It just seems like a lot of characters were meant to play bigger more meaningful roles overall but then got rushed out.
Love the game but it’s noticeable that a lot of it was rushed or cut out.

DD1 got their budget cut and they still made an amazing game, and instead of building on top of the 1st games' success and fleshing out stuff that was already there, they still fumbled hard.
Gameplay is solid, yet they cut Mystic Knight and took away half of the spells Sorcerers had available.
Instead of building the romance system up and make it even more meaningful, they literally made it worse than in DD1
Good game, but could've been so much better.

    • @connorm.anderton363

I think that they were told to refrain from glamorizing the Elves, given that in the end product, as per usual, they are depicted as insular, snobbish and cold elitists, apart from the young man who is allowed to sit the coming of age trial with a non-Elven bow and is magically so much better at it, serving as a lesson to those "daft, mean, clueless old-timers" and renders their sacred ways as pointless. Why are we encouraged to learn their custom made language, and why is the Arbor so stunning if they don't want us to be intrigued by them and their customs?

Your ultimate goal is not to become ruler. But to slay the dragon. I think that's why that plotline kinda falls to the side. Tho it might become more important in a potential future dlc. Just in case, spoilers ahead!!
As you evacuate people in the unmoored world, they set up camp at the ending location. My reason to believe that they're not planning on leaving anytime soon, is the elves. You plant their arborus (or whatever it's called) right on that location, and according to a convo before you do. They will likely stay there, but they also mention they'll have to adapt to get used to other races. Really hope future dlc focuses on the unmoored world. Maybe we get to fix the world and bring back the color in the world or something

The story in this game seemed so bland and secondary. The quests weren’t memorable and felt basic. Idk if I’m just still on an Elden Ring high but between the Elden Ring map and the amazingly long story and well thought out side quests and missions. This was a let down. The story of Dragons Dogma Online is quite unique right? I haven't been able to find the entire story of it becuase its japanese but from what i did see of it... theres two dragons and plentiful arisens (players) So its similar in that there are Arisens and dragons but the story and 'cycle' doesn't seem the same. I like the idea that there are different universes where even the cycle isn't the same tale retold over and over. If they make a 3rd game i hope it tries something different story wise.

    • @CrazyJoe2560
      @CrazyJoe2560 3 месяца назад

DDO story is really unique, as everyone is jumping around and being cool as Arisen, in a strange new way instead of slaying the dragons, they protect it instead. Its assumed I think that alchemy and study of the rift is a thing in DDO and by messing around with the forces. I'm assuming the "Forces" that be, dont like that and send in calamity. But, one pissed off Arisen and a dead friend goes rouge. And opens rifts to another world. Leading to the events of DDO season 2, and 3. These worlds seep into yours. Causing your Arisen and band to clean up the mess. With their universe being different ofcourse. They never finished the plot of all the dragon forces from what I remember playing. As the servers shutdown. So we'll never know who we would have fought. The last boss in the game from what I remember was the Rouge Arisen who ended up succuming to becoming The Dark Knight. Being one of if not the coolest and menacing enemies in the game. They later added Bitter Black Island and Super Death Boss fight. They really spoiled us with enemies. Compared to DD2. Glad some things came from DDO that of Spirit Lancer now called Mystic Spearhand. Wish the enemy diversity from Online came to DD2.

Was it all just a test because at the very end of the true ending chaos decides to leave so was it to prove a point to the Arisen that they have a role to play so be a good puppet? Was it an alternate reality because the Pathseeker tells you about rejecting your role and then says something about seeing it through someone elses eyes which then warps you back to riding the dragon. So was this a parallel version that stabbed the dragon and broke order?

The Brine, being originally created by the God to control the inhabitants of the world and limit where they could explore, is also gone (showed by the fact that the old arisen can safely sail into the horizon) meaning that now the people can forge new roads and explore new lands beyond what originally was intended for them.

The game is ass, the game values inconvenience over fun. The story is lackluster. Not to mention not being able to have multiple saves, poor optimization, a $70 price point, microtransactions. The main character doesn’t have dialog, the romance options are pointless because all that results is “blushing”. No additional quests or maybe even to bring your romance option as a 4th pawn. The side quests are basically reused fetch quests, you can clear all the content in the game at such a low level… so on and so forth….

Yeah, the foundation is there but all i can say is they just dropped the ball completely
the combat is fun, but repetitive after a little bit. lack of enemy variety, removal of skills and vocations (some new ones added which is great), and just lacking completely in the story department.

Whoever did the writing for the game, needs to be fired. (story)
Your the king, where is your wife? Disa? There is ZERO interaction between him and Disa, period.
Sven should even know who you are, yet he just calls you "Arisen" instead of Daddy.

I think youtube shorts is rotting people's brains. This is a very clear example. Doesn't even have the attention span to pay attention to what's going on in the game.
