Been on this road many times, bypassing Chicago between St. Louis and Milwaukee. Have your I-Pass ready. I-39 was supposed to be a straight shot down the middle of Illinois to I-57 near Cairo, but was never finished past Bloomington. Hope I-43 has been fixed up; it had chasms for expansion joints last time I went through.
