Old Delhi, India ➖ Today, I am in Old Delhi trying out every single food item I can find. Ice cream, biriyani, coconuts, and street drinks are just some that are on the list! I was actually here 2 years ago, and not much has changed. the chaotic streets here are still so busy, full of motorbikes, bike carts, people walking up and down, vendors on every corner and so much more! So it's going to be an awesome time eating food with my good friend Ali!

I mean Luke is giving it someone and the guy is trying to steal from those children even technically. Good job on atleast telling them.

The green liquid you had at the end was 'Jal Jeera' (translated into english - Cumin Water). But obviously the drink has much more than cumin. It contains salt and other spices, mint leaves, and lemons. If you drink this on a hot summer day in North India then you can move about in the sun all day without getting a heat stroke. That is why the drink is so popular in India. The taste grows with time. There is another variant of the drink that is called 'aam Panna' or mango panna, made from raw mangoes instead of using lemons for sour flavour. This is also the water (or very similar to the water) that you add to pani puris if you were wondering.

India is soo diverse in every way, you will find sellers scamming foreigners and you can also find some who are very generous with foreigners.

That is jaljeera u are drinking at the end (jal = water, jeera = cumin, with a lot more masala added to it). So yes, it's usually heavily spiced. Generally, foreigners like it in pani puri, only locals can appreciate it straight like that. Safe travels Luke, thanks for the vids!

@@LukeDamant Hey luke, just wanted to add something to explanation of that green drink. As many have already told you about this drink, its hindi name is "Jal Jeera" means 'cumin water' in english but it has many other ingredients in it including salt, cumin, black peper, mint leaves grinded/mixed, lemon, ice mixed in the water.
It is really wonderful drink if it is made at home or outside if it is heigenic, but if you buy it from street vendor then, you can suspect it of having unpurified/dirty water, and dirty ice which results in deseases.
We Indians can never eat alone without asking our friends ❤

Love watching your vlogs Luke. Seeing Delhi brings up so many happy memories. Now it’s only a dream to visit again as a Pakistani. By the way the kheer you had (the white dairy dessert in clay pots ) is desi version of rice pudding. Rice, milk, saffron, cardamom and rose water are stirred in a pot until it gets thick and gooey. It’s hard labour. Lots of love from Islamabad.

The drink, which you drank in the last that you were unable to complete. it is called jal jeera. It is made full of spices like salt, red chilli powder, mint leaves, Cummins, coriander and many more whether you didn't like the taste but it's really very beneficial for Summers and for your stomach too. I know after having it our throat starts burning. But honestly it's good for health.

Luke , I’ve been watching your vlogs for quite sometime.. one thing I would like to say specially in this vlog you got Ali with you, every time you got food or drink you didn’t even asked once to him if he would like to have some..
He is been walking with you whole day asking food or drink would have been a nice gesture..

I thought the same thing but to defend luke he needed the video to be fluid and be like his normal videos. Having Ali eat with him all the time would have distracted Luke and slowed down the video.
I take that but all he has to do is order two and hand over to him and still just focus on himself as it’s his blog simple.

That Indian puddin is called kheer it's basically made of milk rice and sugar and added dryfruits ..the milk is thickened and the rice is cooked in it (they coarse grind the rice after washing )also some people add cardamon powder and saffron

Hey Luke, usually people around Mosques use Asalamu Alaikum. Same thing for areas with a lot of temples or a major temple they might use Namaste or Sat Sri Akal if they're of the Sikh faith

1:51 Funnily I was at this very similar stand one week ago. That pink juice is called Mohabbat-e-sharbat. Roughly translated juice of love. It is a milk based products with added suger , Roohafja ( that red substance) and watermelon. One of the most popular drinks in Delhi.

Hi Luke the kulfi is milk that is reduced and the cream is frozen the other item that you ate was called its a rice pudding eaten after a meal as a dessert the drink is made of mint jeera n black salt it aids in keeping the salt in the body due to the extreme heat in india
