Hi there. I am a bit confused. This MAGSAFE is a different type of charging? Right now I have a Flip4 with a regular baseus wireless 15w charger. I am trying to understand the differences... I am a bit lost. Thanks in advance.
Alright, Tone. Yes, the connection is strong, actually a lot stronger than I’d expected. I was surprised at how well the charger was working through the ring and the case. There’s actually a part in the video where I hold the phone, without the case and ring, about an inch or so away from the charger and it still picked up the charge. I know some of these technologies and features seem a bit like BS but wireless charging, MagSafe or not, is defo a great function. I done the same for my old S21 and that charger in the video is what I have by my bed for my phone, I’m gonna try the same with the iPhone SE. Anyway, I’ve got to sell all my phones now as I’m seriously considering upping my game and joining the “big boys” 😆 and get the new 14 Pro Max. That should work well for some vlogs on on my vlogging channel, especially if Apple haven’t sorted the lens flair issue 😂 Cheers, Dave.
Great review.. I'm looking to get a similar car set up for the Z Flip 5 that I got this week. Do you have a review of the Flip 5 using a MagSafe compatible case?
For a car setup there are a number of MagSafe compatible wireless chargers available, ESR actually make a nice one. However, for using MagSafe in a car, with the potential for bumps etc. I would probably look at getting a dedicated MagSafe case for the Flip 5. I’m still looking for the best MagSafe case and will do a review once I’ve found one that I’m happy with. Cheers, Dave.
Do magsafe charging mounts have enough strength to hold flip phones in the open position including in landscape mode? Your video only shows it in the closed position. I want a hands free way to charge my Razr+ in the car and it's either via a magsafe case + car mount or a dual coil auto clamping standard qi charger. I haven't been able to find any videos showing this feature with flip phones such as Z Flip 5 or Razr Ultra 40/Razr+. The coils are on the bottom so I worry the weight wont be distributed correctly for a magnetic car mount.
Yes, it should do as it will just be hanging down and the screen will just flip the image the right way round. There shouldn’t be a problem with the magnets, as you can see in the video I was being aggressive when shaking everything.
This videos is a joke he slapped a magnetic ring on the back of his case and maybe cleaned it up some alchohol before....there i saved you ALOT of time
Unfortunately, no ☹️ My Forever case has a rubbery like finish to it, which is great for gripping but the adhesive layer on the ring won’t stick to properly. I wish I could have done as I really do like my Forever case 😆 When you get a proper MagSafe case they have the ring or magnets built into the back. Maybe Caseology see my “Forever Case” video and make a “Forever MagSafe Case” 😂 Cheers, Dave.
@@la10sooony Yes you can but it may be better on the case so you don't mark the phone in any way, for instance, if you decide to take the ring off further down the line. Cheers, Dave.

the magnetic connection is definitely strong! And the charge time was impressive too. i thought it might take longer charging wirelessly! cheers!

which wireless power bank would you recommend a for the (modded magsafe) z flip 4 ?????

Is that only compatible for flip 4? Or is it compatible for flip 3?
Will a magsafe wallet work on this?
No, the wallet is too long when the flip 4 is closed.
Can I use this case and ring with my magnetic car mount while keeping the phone open? I like to charge it and use Google maps at the same time
I doubt it would stay in a landscape position, you’d probably be best off using a tradition clamp system.
@@DavidHarry ahh ok, do you think it will hold up in potrait mode? I mostly use google maps in portrait mode

Amazing video. Thank you very much.
You are very welcome. Cheers, Dave.
Great job keep on going mate
Thanks 👍

Couldn't you use your Forever case 🙂

@@DavidHarry can't you put the ring directly on the phone?
@@la10sooony Yes you can but it may be better on the case so you don't mark the phone in any way, for instance, if you decide to take the ring off further down the line. Cheers, Dave.
@@DavidHarry but i man this way you can still rock your forever case and belive me it won't damage the phone that much.
@@la10sooony Unfortunately the ring won’t fit inside the case if it’s on the phone, there’s no space.
