  • To connect the El Limón gold ore pit with the processing plant it was necessary to overcome an altitude difference of approx. 400m in steep terrain. Minera Media Luna, S.A. de C.V. (MML), 100% owned subsidiary of Torex Gold Resources Inc., opted for the RopeCon® as a means of transport. Along with other aspects, safety and environment were key considerations in prompting the decision. The system transports 1,000 metric tons of gold ore per hour into the valley over a distance of 1.3km.

    Чтобы соединить золоторудный карьер Эль-Лимон с обогатительной фабрикой, необходимо было преодолеть перепад высот около 400 м на крутом рельефе. Компания Minera Media Luna, S.A. de C.V.

      That would be great - one person flees by crawling onto the conveyor while the other chases them in the servicing platform seen at 2:58 - James fleeing and bad guy chasing or vise versa could both work. Cool to see the OP talking about their ropeways' use in other James Bond movies - it really is a James Bond sort of thing, the precedence has been set!

      In meiner Heimatstadt Kamp-Lintfort gab es eine Materialseilbahn, mit der Sand und Kies vom Eyllerberg zur Schachtanlage Friederich-Heinrich gebracht wurde. Das Material wurde Untertage als sog. Schwemmversatz in die ausgekohlten Flötze in der steilen Lagerung verbracht und stabilisierte so das Grubengebäude. Die hier gezeigte Seilbahn ist viel leistungsfähiger.

      RopeCon® is a material handling system. The material is transported on a conveyor belt with sidewalls, wheel sets are mounted to that belt at regular intervals. The wheels are moving along a track of steel wire ropes. The system is elevated off the ground as the track ropes are guided over towers. This technology is especially well suited for challenging terrain as it allows to span across rivers, roads, infrastructure or steep terrain.

      Not sure exactly where in Mexico this is, but much of Mexico is very dry and desert-like. Other areas have dry and wet seasons, and some plants drop their leaves in the dry season much like some do in the cold season in colder climates - this presumably having been filmed in the dry season. If this is true (I'm just speculating here) then this would be normal for the location and season.

      @DoppelmayrSeilbahnen  2 года назад

      Hi C!
      The belt is turned by 180 degrees after discharge in the valley as well as before passing the drive drum again at the top station. The soiled side of the belt thus faces upwards both on the downhill and on the uphill journey.

    • @DoppelmayrSeilbahnen
      @DoppelmayrSeilbahnen  2 года назад

      Hi C!
      At the tower head, the belt is supported by idlers. Due to the corrugated sidewalls, the belt needs to pass the tower idlers with the flat side facing downwards. The turning of the belt has the additional effect that no residual material can fall from the belt on its return journey.
