Watching these video's a person really gets an idea of how vast that area is. What a desolate dry place. It makes me thirsty just watching you. I hope you find a whole lot of nuggets, but even if you don't, it has been a wonderful journey. Thanks for taking us along on the adventure and for all of the sound advice.
Love this series of videos! I can't go exploring because I provide full time care for my 86 year old Mom. She doesn't travel well so I am living vicariously watching yours and other people's videos. Thank you!
I was stationed at Ft Huachuca AZ. for two years...this brings back a lot of memories. I loved exploring and was lucky to spend most of my time out in the field.
Aquachigger, you actually found my dry wash pile; I couldn't believe it when I saw it. I pulled a 1 gram nugget out of that bedrock using a Pro-gold Prospector dry washer with an Echo 5lb bucket gas blower. I was there for about 3 hrs
Windmills are common in my area when I was young. (yesterday) They work whenever there is a breeze they cost little to run and maintain. There are long stroke ones short stroke ones. Depends on the depth they need to pump from. I saw one on a well that only made 25 gals and hour. No other pump could have done that in those days.
If you come across a jabalina skull , you might check out the teeth. Gold flakes collect along their gum line when they root around out in the desert. Get your pin pointer out and see if it gives you a nice signal.
Red Tailed Hawk feathers. The tail feathers -- perfect for your funky cowboy hat band!!! Ha! I grew up in Arizona -- always did the walkabout into the desert. REALLY loving your videos -- I'm having deep nostalgia! Thanks so much!
Many years ago, my dad found some sandstone overhang cliffs that had deer tracks and other animal tracks upside down in the cliff. So strange to look straight up and see these. My parents and brother staked claims somewhere off the Ariavipa road on the Safford side of the mountains. We lived in central Arizona a bit to the east part. My dad worked in the copper mine there. We used to always drive in the hills above our house and not only beautiful but so very interesting. Lot of history in that area too. Thanks for making this video Chig!
Arroyos are the name of those dry beds which you warned us about earlier of flash flooding. Next time you are in the SW look around at the mesas and such and think of it all covered with the ancient Western Sea. It’s so cool to break off a piece of rock, over a mile and a half in elevation, and discover sea shells!
A herd of javelina tip over trash cans in my neighborhood. We all know not to leave trash cans out overnight! Or put pumpkins out in the fall. . .they love pumpkins. We hear them coming down the street at night after it cools off. . .click, click, click, click, click. They can be quite dangerous especially if they have young with them. Love the AZ videos!
That is a nice area to go explore around Wickenburg, Morristown, Bradshaw mountains, I use to go out there every chance I got when I was off work on the weekends. I miss the deserts of Arizona. One day I am going to move back and I am gonna go visit the desert for a week again. Have fun
We moved to Az. 6 years ago and live not too far from where you have been exploring. One of the first thing I checked on was insect types in the area as I have an allergy to bees, wasps, hornets and such. According to what I found virtually all honey bees in Az. are now Africanized and their hives and swarms should be avoided. Africanized bees will react to sound and when they attack they ave very aggressive and can be deadly.
Desert Rat not just sound. Vibration, minor movement, even odor can/will set them off. Chigg was lucky. Arizona Wildlife Services advises that you immediately retreat the instant you detect a bee hive anywhere in the state.
Hi Beau, you dun caught me deep in thought again! Great to see you again this evening *Edit * I’ve now watched it through and I’m pretty sure you put a video up the other day showing the little prospecting team, dude had rocking boots on,..proper prospector boots :) And great to see you’ve not abandoned your Civil War history I’d never thought about draft avoiders and those in fear of their current location being the ones so determined to cross the area, It helps explain one part of the migration, these people where often just getting by as small holders and for father to go fight in a war they neither knew nor cared about would bring hardship so bad that it was worth the risk for the chance of freedom on the other side. You got me thinking again brother, thank you. Charlie UK
Skull was from a Javelina. They have a similiar appearance to a wild boar. I've only seen them alive and decomposing so far, but no bones like that. Cool! You are right, they can be vicious. Nice to see some Arizona vids. 👍
So awsome, I had planned to hit arizona desert in March. My bucket list is to see cactus in bloom. And try out my newly acquired gold big pro and see what I can find. With my luck I will find the rest of the bird shot I missed. I was worried about claims and how to avoid them. If I can find Bill Southern I think I ,will ask him to take me and my son out to look for tiny nuggies. May be this fall early winter. Was nice to see the reality of the desert. Looks hot dry and dusty. Lol Lol the clammpets. I can relate, my house looks like the clampets, before the mansion.
Wow cool video Chigger's the USA history is amazing and a proud place, you guys love your country more than anyone i have seen, i have a sister who lives over the pond and she is one lucky girl, thanks man and keep it going, can't wait for your river work this summer .👍😍
Those bones are probably from a Javelina or Peccary, wild boar. They are native to that area in Arizona. Mean little buggers too. Good video. Thank you for posting it.
Man dang it and all of atleast 45 year,s i thought that was a big fan to cool the green giant,s ball,s! Chigg?...what the #3LL would we do with out ya?
would be great if you meet with zane greene, he is mining fire agate and living in the desert nr oakland/ cool springs. Very interesting and funny guy! His youtube live streams are a riot too haha
You don't need a full tank of gas. Just carry a couple of gas cans. Haaaa haaaa. Plywood ruins reminds of old abandoned farm sites I use to farm. Nice video. Teagards... P.S. Butterfield Stage Road through Texas. Look it up on Wikipedia, I know you have. The Fort Belknap is my favorite station. Fort Phantom Hill ain't bad.
The skull you found was most likely a javalina also called a collared peccary (not sure about the spelling). They live in desert areas like where you are. They are similar to a pig.
The skull at 21:40 is a javelina which can be very mean...hope you carry out there I usually carry 2 firearms one for critters and the other for 2 legged!
We have an Old Stage Road here in Colorado Springs. It used to be a road that took you over the front range of the Rockies to a little mining town called Cripple Creek from Colorado Springs, but its closed down now. Its curious that there's a road down in Arizona of the same name. Are they related? Probably not, but its interesting lol.
West of Phoenix west of the white tanks was a WWII training area as a kid we'd go out and find artifacts I found 8000 rounds of blank ammunition Clips canteens etc post WWII a bunch of stuff was buried.. north of Gila bend and a bit west around signal butte
I take great comfort in knowing out there somewhere, the Chig is digging.
"A cougar, but not the fun kind." Priceless, lol. Thanks for the awesome explore.

I love geology!! You make it even more interesting 😀 👽 🐈

Well done I enjoyed the trip thanks for showing us around ..stay safe and well...
Thank you for taking us on your adventure. Be safe.

topo maps are a life saver, time saver, they show prospects, shafts, mines, buildings, roads, ruins, ect.
Another exciting adventure, thanks for sharing your trips, Chigg. Keep them coming!
Whomever built that flag of rocks put a lot of work into it~ Cool find! Great tips on security while camping too.

I always enjoy watching and learning! Thanks for another great adventure..be safe!
The holes in the rock wall are from core samples :)
No, that was what is called a well house. There would be a windmill that would pump water into the tank.

Not all, but a lot. It's getting pretty bad. My son barely made it into the house when he was taking out the garbage and there was a nearby swarm
Heat of the day can get them into a tizzy, too!

Kaputt....nice that you rermember some german words!
I live in Arizona and I found a couple of broken coke bottles and flat tops in the desert sometimes that I dug up
I also found some old lead bullets around my property
It was possibly a civil war site or Mexican American war site
Loved it, thanx
There ARE wild hogs out in Arizona. They're called "javelinas" I grew up out in SW Arizona and we came across them every once in awhile.
Tim Daugherty
We have ferrel hogs as well
3 Javalinas disliked this video
Lawrencium 😄
Those feathers used to belong to an owl. A slow owl probably.
Twodog Dean thanks for the laugh.
Twodog Dean, 😀 😁 😂 🤣
So what is in then???
It's a Red-tailed Hawk

Comment noted. This man is to good to listen to any bantering between to fools.
The jaw bone and the other pieces are probably from a Javelina.
Lol it's a meteorite! 😂
We have a breeding population of Chupacabra in the desert out behind our house. They are mean.
West of Phoenix west of the white tanks was a WWII training area as a kid we'd go out and find artifacts I found 8000 rounds of blank ammunition Clips canteens etc post WWII a bunch of stuff was buried.. north of Gila bend and a bit west around signal butte
