    Is it possible to upgrade any of the internals (storage/memory)?

    Excellent job, RP. Thanks for this review. Couple points: Tech specs say only 220 nits. Is that lower brightness then, say, Dell 13? And do you notice a lack of brightness? No keyboard backlight!? That's a near/probably deal-breaker. Lastly, I'm still on the fence about 4gb Ram vs. 8. I'd like to keep a solid chromebook for a while and it seems that things are moving so fast the 8 is just better for future proof, despite the good performance in the present...? But, yes, that thinkpad keyboard is a big big plus. Thanks!

    Great video. This Chromebook looks to be a great computer capable of handling just about anything online. I know some have asked before but is anything upgradable inside or is everything soldiered on?

    Great review Robby! I had about the same thoughts on this machine. The keyboard was fantastic, but the screen was very meh (especially on the 1366x768 version)

      Yeah, the non-IPS HD is quite bad. It's the screen they accidentally shipped me the first time.

    My work laptop is a Thinkpad T450 and the track pad experience is absolutely atrocious (hardware and drivers). I turned off the physical left and right click buttons too, since they're awkward and useless if you're not using the nub (which is somehow worse than the track pad). So glad this Chromebook trimmed the fat in favor of a good track pad. Only took them a decade or two to realize!
    I own a Toshiba Chromebook 2 and while it's a great little computer I regret not buying something more durable. My next Chromebook will probably be one of these.

    hi! I am thinking to buy a Chromebook, as I have started to hate windows and apple is too expensive for what it does. Most of what I do is on the browser, nevertheless, I also use Libre office or other writing software. I am not on a budget, but I wouldn't like to waste my money. I type and travel a lot with my laptop, so I would like a good keyboard and battery. The chromebook should make me forget my laptop, and last for 4 years minimum. What chromebook do you suggest? I am a heavy user, so it should not lag. I have also checked the Dell 13, however, it is from 2015 and I don't know if it would last much. if you could help, it would be awesome. :)

    For casual use, assuming every other spec identical, is there any justification to pay more for a chromebook running a Pentium 4405Y processor vs. the Celeron 3855U. I believe these are newest generation chips or am I wrong.

    Liked your video. I just watched reviews for Lenovo 13, Hp 13, Acer 14, and Dell 13.. Not sure what to get. I'm a remote worker, but my processing needs are fairly basic (though I'll pay more to future proof). Big thing for me is screen as I would like to work outside even on extremely bright days, which makes me think the matte screen of Lenovo, Dell, and Acer would be best. Price range is up to $700. What would you suggest? I like the millspec of the Lenovo, keyboard, and screen. I do like the thinness of the Hp. And I like the screen of the Dell..

      Outdoors, the HP would likely be best from a screen-first perspective.

      Ok, great. That's the one I have coming as it's my first choice. I was thinking the glossy screen would reflect more, but if it's a brighter screen I suppose that would equal it out.

    I own the i5, 8gb, 1080 screen of this Chromebook. It's an absolute beast getting a octane score of 29958.

    Hey, I am looking for a new chrome book to use for school and to have around the house. I was look at the acer 13 and 14 but I wasn't sure what to get. Do you have any suggestions on any chrome book out on the market that is around $350 or under that would be good?

    • @chromeunboxed
      @chromeunboxed  8 лет назад +1

      Chrome Unboxed , I never owned a Chromebook before since that I am always an Apple & Google person! Do you think that it's a joke for processors from Dual-Core's to the latest processor perform very slowly?

    So I am going back to college in a weeks time and I need a light decent laptop, my budget is really tight (maximum £250, or around $350) so I was thinking buying something like the Acer 14. Bearing in mind I will need word processing and photo editing what should you suggest, and should I get a Chromebook at all?

      try to check neverware compatibility list from their forum, with those price you can get medium performance windows laptop that can do your work (not too slow but not fast enough) and if the hardware is supported you can dual boot it with neverware cloudready (basicaly similiar with chrome OS) so you can use your laptop as chrome mode when you hangout or just browsing because it perform much2 faster

    • @RizkhyDestatama

      or if you dont wanna pay windows, and its paid apps because the hardware is cheap not totally worth it for expensive sofware, unless you are using pirated copy, you can try find a laptop that 100% compatibility with linux

    Which one is a better buy you think, the Lenovo or HP Chromebook 13 ?

    • @Scroogs
      @Scroogs 8 лет назад

      Lenovo has more build quality. I don't know who has better battery, probably Lenovo because it's so thick. However, the HP is beautiful! I would probably buy an HP for the heck of it (Provided I had the money, lol) just to show it off.

      Andi Setiadi looks, weight, thinness, screen and speakers go to HP. build quality, performance battery and keyboard/trackpad Lenovo

    It doesn't have a Trackpoint, so it's not a Thinkpad.
