Hi Paul, I am doing some walling and your painting system has given me what I needed. I have looked at your other videos and must say I am very impressed with your quality of detail especially the non railway. I have subscribed and look forward to the future videos. Barry. Devon.
That’s a good question Bernd and I’m not entirely sure of the answer. It’s probably Revell 37 reddish brown. It’s a favourite of mine when doing this brick technique. I have done other videos since then on brick weathering that will give more detail on it than this early attempt. Try this one: ruclips.net/video/wztHY_cMClU/видео.html Paul
Very imteresting paul I have just built my chimneys for West Green using Slaters embossed sheets. I have just primed it grey, I,want to make it look like London Yellow brick. I think I will do an initial tan or yellow type colour then go over with brown then use towel to remove most of the brown, provably an accrylic brown for the mortar, I ,sure you well see the vid soon Regards Steve
Thanks Steve, check out my second part of the hotel build video. The brickwork in that is something similar to a London brown brick and may be of use to you in terms of colours to apply to achieve the affect. Paul
I have just ordered some plasticard for a retaining wall and bridge abutments for my OO layout. I will use this technique for painting. Thanks for sharing. Could this also be used on a wall made from cast plaster? The wall already has a brick colour applied to it and is in situ on the layout. It is also quite long (approx 14 ft). Any advice would be appreciated Thanks
It’s possible it may work on the plaster cast. One word of warning though is that the paint applied to it is probably not sealed in and any rubbing could very easily remove the initial layers. If you do try it I’d suggest you apply a few layers of varnish to the cast first. I’d also do a test piece of varnish applications and painting technique on a spare piece of cast or somewhere that is inconspicuous in case it all goes wrong! I hope that is of some help. Paul
Excellent stuff Paul, looks really good.
Thanks Aodhan. Paul

Hi Barry, I'm glad the video is of some use to you. Good luck with your interpretation of it and thank you for subscribing. Paul
Very convincing! Please, can you tell the number of the color used for the base coat, mentioned on 5:40. Thanks.

Thanks fnp90rd.
Best model brickwork I have seen, but pity you didn't show doing the weathering as that made all the difference !
Thank you Ray. I have revisited weathering in further videos and I do believe the weathering is covered in some of them. Paul
Thank you. I was wondering how this could be done.
I’m so glad it’s of help Janice. Best of luck with your projects. Paul
